What are your latest food discoveries/obsessions?

I'm always looking for something new to try.

At the moment my current obsessions are Cameroonian spaghetti omelettes and Alka Elephant squeezed pretzels. The latter are a bit too salty for my tastes but they're still addictive and I don't feel as though I'm going to break a tooth on them, unlike some other pretzel snacks.

What are your current food obsessions?

Courgettes. And anything garlic. Courgettes with garlic on and grilled. I could eat a sackload!

WinterHare · 30/08/2019 19:35

Hotdog fries Blush

SwizzelStick · 30/08/2019 19:37

I'm with you on garlic, Bunny.

I’m here to lower the tone clearly.... Grin

Aldi Salted Pretzel Chocolate. Whole bar gone in a day, not even sorry that it gave me indigestion. Also, Aldi Nacho Cheese Tortilla Chips.

I’m really poorly at the moment with chronic pain and awaiting spinal surgery, so moorish snacks are keeping my spirits up (and my BMI up as well which is less than ideal, but oh well).

pontiouspilates · 30/08/2019 19:38

I can eat capers by the spoonful at the moment (nope, not pregnant!) Also cooking and eating loads of Padrón Peppers while they are in the shops. On a sweeter note, cotton candy grapes Wink

SwizzelStick · 30/08/2019 19:41

Thanks for you Orangesox. I hope that things get better for you.

Halloumi. I’d tried it a few times at restaurants and hated it because of how squeaky it was. Then a veggie friend came to stay for the weekend so I got her some to grill with breakfast. Tried a bit and it was nothing like I remembered - she told me apparently it only goes squeaky if it starts to cool after cooking so the trick is to eat it hot.

I have done that a lot in the last six weeks or so Blush

SamBeckett · 30/08/2019 19:47

oohh and fried mushrooms on thick toast ( tescos seeded batch is best)

TitsalinaBumSquash · 30/08/2019 19:49

Someone on here mentioned Korean Street food toast sandwich thing with the eggs and veggies, my DH made it for breakfast earlier in the week and it was amazing.

DeniseRoyal · 30/08/2019 19:49

Roasted kale, a spray of olive oil, bit of salt and pepper, roast for 10 minutes or so until crispy. Delicious. Even DP eats loads and he hates green veg 😁

castlecutie · 30/08/2019 19:50

always have a thing for curry cheese chips. also Mayflower curry sauce. oh my god, it's like actual curry sauce from a chinese takeaway. 🤤

BobTheFishermansWife · 30/08/2019 19:51

Salted roast aubergine, absolutely amazing in a tomato sauce with sundried tomatoes and spaghetti, so so yummy!!!

SwizzelStick · 30/08/2019 19:51

I love roasted kale. I can eat a whole bag in one go. Blush

I'll have to find the Korean street food toast recipe. It sounds like something I'd love.
