What do you drink that's not hot or alcoholic?

I'm trying to lose weight, so cutting back on fizzy drinks, but dislike plain water (hard water area and am trying to cut back on plastics so bottled is something I'd like to avoid).

I do drink tea and coffee in the mornings, but prefer cold drinks in the afternoon.

So, what can I drink that isn't plain water or full of artificial sweeteners?

What do you drink

Sometimes I have sparkling water with lemon in, or just cucumber and mint water.

healthylifestylee · 18/08/2019 18:25

I drink water and 1 tea at work
When at home tea, water or squash
Favourite squash is ribeana or orange and mango
I also buy the non fizzy Lucozade sports drinks every now and then

I really just drink tea and water though

How about flavoured water?

Asda concentrated squash..just as good as Robinsons and so much cheaper.
Morrisons do a nice Apple squash too ( I was a juice snob until I came across these)

inwood · 18/08/2019 18:33

Sparkling water - I have a soda stream so no plastics.

GreigLaidlawsbarofsoap · 18/08/2019 18:33

Seedlip. Feels like a proper grown up drink but no alcohol.

PuffHuffle5 · 18/08/2019 18:34

Fizzy water with fruit juice, usually apple or grape.

ThighThighOfthigh · 18/08/2019 18:35

Soda stream here and I have loads of mint in the garden.

Ragwort · 18/08/2019 18:36

I like low cal ginger ale but it might be full of additives?

AmateurSwami · 18/08/2019 18:37

I have a brita filter and just drink water

AdaColeman · 18/08/2019 18:41

Herbal or fruit tea eg Taylor's Rose, left to go cold then diluted a bit more with plain or sparkling water.

Water with a dash of raspberry vinegar, or mashed mint leaves & cucumber slices.

Mint tea, I make it half & half mint leaves and ordinary tea, no sugar. Or iced tea with a slice of lemon.

Have you tried boiling your hard water and cooling it before drinking, that might make it taste better.

tinydancer88 · 18/08/2019 18:41

Elderflower cordial and soda water

Aquamarine1029 · 18/08/2019 18:42

Get a filter pitcher for your refrigerator.

RezCowgirl · 18/08/2019 18:43

Cold brew teas or chilled herbal teas

Blahblahblahnanana · 18/08/2019 18:49

Sparkling water and cordial, diet tonic water plain or the ones with added lime or lemon.

NoSquirrels · 18/08/2019 18:51

Lime cordial or elderflower cordial.

I like ice-cold water though and would choose it over most soft drinks.

MadameJosephine · 18/08/2019 18:52

I got a soda stream for Christmas because I love sparking water but wanted to cut down on plastics.

Branleuse · 18/08/2019 18:52

I sometimes drink diet coke or tonic water, but if you don't want sweetners either, id just drink water. Nice icy cold filtered water

TrendyNorthLondonTeen · 18/08/2019 18:53

Water, but not because it's "healthy". I just like water!

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 18/08/2019 18:53

@inwood Does the soda stream chill the water, or does it depend what you put in?

raffle · 18/08/2019 18:53

Diet irn bru. Absolutely litres of the stuff!

flumpybear · 18/08/2019 18:54

Sparkling water with some fresh lemon - that's good for weight loss and detoxing the liver / digestion

inwood · 18/08/2019 18:54

@ElizabethinherGermanGarden no but you can store the bottles in the fridge.

Blastandbollocks · 18/08/2019 18:56

We do have a Brita filter jug, but it still tastes odd to me - I'm fine with it in tea/coffee, or even with diluting juice added, but not on its own IYSWIM?

I like the idea of soda stream, but again it's plain water.

Never thought about cold brew teas.

Lime cordial with sodastream water
