I just bought a genuine Mulberry bag for £4.99

I've had it authenticated but I knew it was real when I saw it on eBay - I used to collect Mulberry bags but sold them all when we needed cash about a decade ago. The seller had just listed it as 'khaki bag'. I know it won't be to everyone's taste but little baguette bags are currently making a comeback AND it's the most beautiful old-style Mulberry - thick leather which smells amazing and beautiful bronze hardware. And did I mention it was £4.99?!

I'm so happy!

(Also please take this opportunity to share your best bargains because I do love a bargain story)

Lucky you, that is gorgeous.

I was at a jumble sale, was about to leave as everything was tat and stained Primark. On the way out, I saw a box of handbags and thought I may as well have a look.
Found a Radley Hobo bag, beautiful soft leather, and the lady asked me 25p for it, so I gave her a fiver as it was for charity.
Before that, I found a Chanel in a charity shop, paid £10 for it. Totally real and had it verified. Chuffed.

A pair of Brand new French Sole ballet flats £3.99 - not my size, but perfect for my little footed friend!

Love a bargain! My best bargain was a pair of brand new Birkenstocks for £7 from a charity shop.

Nowhere near as good as these but our local pharmacists were selling baby cough medicine at a sale price..

Grand old price of.....1p!

There were 4,so I snapped them all up and paid with pennies in my purse Grin

A row of champagne pearls - suitable for clutching - in an antique shop for £20. A colleague admired them & insisted I get them valued for insurance. £1,000. This was along time ago, I'm glad I saw this thread as I think I should get them re-valued., so thanks @0pheIiaBaIIs

cantfindname · 15/08/2019 17:56

Unworn Gina shoes navy satin in my size!!
£10 charity shop

JustOneLastThing · 15/08/2019 18:07

I always look through the bags at my local CS, and they are, without exception, all rubbish. They get the odd knackered Cath Kidston which is then massively marked up. Surely my luck has to be in soon?!

lanbro · 15/08/2019 18:08

Brand new with tags Next real leather jacket in the local charity shop for £7.50, I gave them a tenner as was so thrilled!

FilledSoda · 15/08/2019 18:15

Bibibirdie a Chanel ?
Wow , that's an amazing find .
What was it ? Was it one if the flap styles ?
Sorry I love Chanel

WillowySnicket · 15/08/2019 18:26

A brand new with tags isabella oliver maternity dress in a charity shop for £5. It was still being sold online for £170!

JudgeRindersMinder · 15/08/2019 18:29

A pair of 7 for all mankind jeans for a fiver from Tk Max. The best and comfiest I’ve ever owned. I wore them till the arse fell out of them

DontCallMeShitley · 15/08/2019 18:47

May I ask how you authenticated it?

RedTitsMcGinty · 15/08/2019 18:49

Bought a Reiss suit today, original tags on it, in a charity shop, for £28. It cost ten times that originally.

beela · 15/08/2019 18:52

Not in the same league, but I picked up a brand new with tags top from little white company in ds's size for £2 in a charity shop yesterday. We're on holiday, I always go for a rummage in the local charity shops oh shit, I am turning into my mother

SistersOfPercy · 15/08/2019 19:22

I got four perfect condition Coach bags from our local facebook marketplace. Had them authenticated and all were genuine.
£30 for the lot. I was a happy girl that day!

JeremyIronsBenFolds · 15/08/2019 19:24

Ooh, lovely! I’m feeling pleased as I just got a 100% silk shirt from The Kooples from my local charity shop for £3. Don’t think they recognised the brand!

0pheIiaBaIIs · 15/08/2019 19:27

@DontCallMeShitley I was 99.99% sure it was real anyway (as I say I used to collect Mulberry years ago and had about 20, so know the brand inside out). But to be sure I had it checked on the Purse Forum. They've never let me down before!

@BiBiBirdieBiBiBirdie a Chanel for a tenner?! Blimey, you win! I've had a couple of other Mulberrys from chazzas. And a Sportmax wool coat for £3! I love a good chazza rummage!

@gowgow wowsers. Lucky you! You may win the thread!

Funnily enough I picked up a Gucci Velvet Marmont bag at a charity shop on Tuesday for £6. I suspect it's fake but it's a very good fake, everything seems ok apart from the fact it has two interior labels which Gucci bags apparently don't usually have. It'll certainly do for evenings out when it's too dimly lit and everyone is too drunk to pay close attention to my bag!

@OpheliaBalls

Thank you for replying. Is that the one where you have to have a certain number of posts before you can ask a question?

I tried once for an authentication on one of those places for a bag I saw for sale but it was too difficult to get to post so I gave up. Have only ever bought in shops before so was wary.

Did you ask them using the listing photos or your own? Sorry if I am asking too many questions.

Pavlova31 · 15/08/2019 19:48

A Boden excellent condition cross body bag on sale online for £180 . I paid £15.00 🙂
Also a barely used Cath Kidston for £7.50

Masketti · 15/08/2019 21:09

A pair of knee high Gabor boots soles un marked for £8! I NEVER find amazing stuff and I was having a rubbish day. Still love them 6 years later.

Fireinthegrate · 15/08/2019 21:10

Paid £500 on ebay for a dining table, 6 chairs, and cabinet. When they were delivered the original receipt was in one of the drawers. The set was only 8mths old and had cost £2800. Still using it all now 20 years later and still love it.

Stravapalava · 15/08/2019 21:41

I opened this thread thinking you were my mum! She recently got a Mulberry bag for £4.99 in a charity shop. She's checked all the hardware and checked the serial number and it's a genuine Mulberry.
