I've had it authenticated but I knew it was real when I saw it on eBay - I used to collect Mulberry bags but sold them all when we needed cash about a decade ago. The seller had just listed it as 'khaki bag'. I know it won't be to everyone's taste but little baguette bags are currently making a comeback AND it's the most beautiful old-style Mulberry - thick leather which smells amazing and beautiful bronze hardware. And did I mention it was £4.99?!

I'm so happy!

(Also please take this opportunity to share your best bargains because I do love a bargain story)

I bought a musical instrument advertised in the local yellow newspaper (can't remember what it was called but it was made up entirely of adverts) for £60 when I was in my teens. I was delighted with the bargain as that type of instrument would usually cost £300 second hand. I took it to a music shop as it needed some repairs and found out that it was a fairly rare example of an instrument crafted by a sought after maker and was worth £3000.

I sold it a few years later to fund my living costs while studying for my Masters, which I wouldn't have otherwise been able to afford.

@MrsGaryLightbody - how kind you are!

I donate a lot and buy a kit from our lox’s hospice shop. They know me quite well, I am in at least once a week. When DH was made redundant when dd was 4 weeks old, they gave me a badge of baby clothes which were “too stained to sell”. They were beautiful! I donated them bsck when dd grew out of them. I joke with the volunteers that I am just “hiring” children’s clothes from them.

My parents were given a Denby stoneware "gypsy" dinner set as a wedding gift in the early 70's and added to it over the years (like the design in the picture below).I inherited it (not really my taste, but I'm sentimental)!

Anyway, came across a skip, just down the road from me and couldn't believe it when I found the exact same Denby crockery in it, many pieces which I didn't have already.

The whole collection is worth a few hundred pound, but has been used everyday over the last 50 years! It's fantastic quality and I'm sure it'll last another 50!

Managed to get reclaimed, 1920s solid oak parquet flooring for £180. To put in new it would be over £1000

I also got a pair of yves st Laurent sunglasses in tk maxx for £25... Googled and they were nearly £300 😱
