DH is doing revenge housework because he's annoyed with me.

I shouted at him for messing up the recycling AGAIN. Yes I know it's unreasonable to shout at your partner, but it's been 8 years of me explaining why paper and plastic need to be separated.
I've made him dinner, but he's left it on the side as an act of defiance 😂. So far he's cleaned the litter tray, tidied up DCs toys, emptied all the bins and watered the plants- I've never seen him do anything in the garden before.
All so he doesn't have to talk to me or eat the dinner I made him.

Winner!

Doyoumind · 04/08/2019 19:47

Sounds like a good strategy. Shout at him more and put your feet up.

Sirzy · 04/08/2019 19:48

Enjoy! I wish someone would punish me by doing the housework

Winner, winner, (no) chicken dinner! Grin

mcmen71 · 04/08/2019 19:49

This works for me too if I want windows done I start doing insides knowing it will get him to do outside.

ZazieTheCat · 04/08/2019 19:50

Mine too. He is passive aggressively washing up “at me” loudly atm.

Like him actually washing a dish for a change bothers me...

twistyturnycurlywhirly · 04/08/2019 19:51

He's also put some things away that have been laying around for ages, loaded the dishwasher, cleared the draining board and done a bit of washing up. Christ he's fast at housework! I think I need to piss him off everyday.

LookImAHooman · 04/08/2019 19:53

Bloody hell, send him to mine! I’ll insult his dress sense or something...

twistyturnycurlywhirly · 04/08/2019 19:54

Dinner is still sitting on the side not being eaten. Oh woe is me, I'm so upset 🤣

Sparkletastic · 04/08/2019 19:55

This is a winning strategy

Stompythedinosaur · 04/08/2019 19:57

Could you let him know I am also cross about his recycling and he can pop round to do my laundry?

TheCaddyisaBaddie · 04/08/2019 19:59

Get the ironing out quick, before this wears off

twistyturnycurlywhirly · 04/08/2019 19:59

If he would talk to me, I'd tell him you all bear a grudge and deserve a bit of revenge housework!

I pissed my DH off yesterday and he mowed the grass! Bonus.

twistyturnycurlywhirly · 04/08/2019 20:00

I've left the tumble dryer door open. Hoping he might do a bit of revenge clothes folding.

I angry clean too! I’ve done some of my best work when I’ve been pissed off with DH!! Grin

dementedpixie · 04/08/2019 20:01

Hide his dinner in the oven or microwave so he thinks you've thrown it out. He might clean the bathroom!

Hidingtonothing · 04/08/2019 20:01

Never tried this on DH but I know for a fact it works on me, I get loads done 'angry cleaning' when someone's pissed me off Grin

twistyturnycurlywhirly · 04/08/2019 20:02

I get the angry cleaning, but how is neglecting his dinner affecting anyone but himself?

usersouthcoast · 04/08/2019 20:04

This is hilarious!!! Absolutely made me smile from ear to ear!

Littlechocola · 04/08/2019 20:04

I love angry cleaning

seeyounexttime · 04/08/2019 20:04

My DH occasionally does this. When it happens I make a mental note to piss him off more often so he cleans more. My favourite is when he is putting the dishes in the dishwasher and sighs with each one. Life's hard for these poor long suffering men Grin

RobinHobb · 04/08/2019 20:06

Mine is angry cooking right now.
I'm watching telly - I was happy with take out, the original plan. Maybe he'll empty the dishwasher too... hasn't done that for a few years

GBroGal · 04/08/2019 20:06

Perhaps when he did the watering he went "down the garden to eat worms" - and now he's too full to eat the dinner you cooked.

usersouthcoast · 04/08/2019 20:08

Tomorrow could you start an argument with him about not eating today's dinner? Get the ironing board out next to the pile of ironing as you do!
