I'm ill and I'm in the mood for a bad but enjoyable film. I'd appreciate any suggestions. TIA

Maid in Manhattan!

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 15/07/2019 21:50

What about PS I Love You.

So bad it makes me cry it's good.

PineappleSeahorse · 15/07/2019 21:52

If I may add my own suggestion to my own thread, Far and Away with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman used to be my so bad it's good comfort film.

WoollyMollyMonkey That’s Galaxy Quest! Genuinely one of my favourite films of all time Grin

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen with Sean Connery.
The Last Samurai
Armageddon
SWAT
Pitch Black
The Guru
Drop Dead Gorgeous

TheInvestigator · 15/07/2019 21:56

@CharminglyGawky
You should try Stan Helsing.

allfurcoatnoknickers · 15/07/2019 21:57

300 is my guilty pleasure.

MrsMoastyToasty · 15/07/2019 21:59

Another oldie...."Weekend at Bernie's".

Maidsamilking · 15/07/2019 22:02

Clue. It's my go-to 'feel better' film.

Bwekfusth · 15/07/2019 22:02

@Isthebigwomanhere noooo! You've Got Mail is NOT utter shite, it's wonderful!

Jimdandy · 15/07/2019 22:04

Roadhouse

HotSauceCommittee · 15/07/2019 22:07

I’m going old school: Police Academy, Caddyshack, National Lampoons, Uncle Buck, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Brewsters Millions.

FermatsTheorem · 15/07/2019 22:08

Anything from movies for men especially with sharks or scifi Oooh, yes. Preferrably involving volcanoes, earthquakes or a combination of both. I think the channel should be renamed "Movies for Mummies" as their output does seem to be just up my street.

The Day After Tomorrow.

The Core
Deep Impact
Space Truckers (really truly into the category of "so bad it's good...")

escapade1234 · 15/07/2019 22:10

“She’s having a baby” with Kevin Bacon, Elizabeth McGovern and Alec Baldwin. I watched it dozens of times in my teens for some reason and had the soundtrack.

NothingInterestingToDeclare · 15/07/2019 22:10

Happy Gilmore - Adam Sandler film that for some reason makes me howl with laughter!

ipswichwitch · 15/07/2019 22:11

So many awesome films... I’m actually hoping DH has to work away a couple of days this week so I can get some quality movie time in! He doesn’t share my love of “so bad they’re great” films. Bag!

ipswichwitch · 15/07/2019 22:11

Bah not bag! Bloody autocorrect —fat thumbs—

Gazelda · 15/07/2019 22:13

Snakes On A Plane.

It's 'our film' for DH and I. We saw it while on a wet and windy mini break in a remote seaside town. We were the only ones in the tiny 30 seat cinema.

We exchange happy glances whenever it's mentioned or if we catch it while flicking channels.

Fuma · 15/07/2019 22:14

Nic cage as referenced by several pps is usually a good bet for this. Con air, face/off are two that immediately spring to mind.

Also sharknado, obvs.

San Andreas is great too - the entire of la collapses and he has to FIND HIS DAUGHTER.

oh and ofc taken. I will find you and I will kill you. Superb.

LakeWallenpaupack · 15/07/2019 22:15

Another one for Hot Tub Machine,IMO correctly fulfills the criteria of bad enough to redeem itself.

Didactylos · 15/07/2019 22:15

Dodgeball
I have no idea why but its our go to stupid film

bigKiteFlying · 15/07/2019 22:16

Starship Troopers.

Though Van Helsing - and some others perviously mentioned would also be on my list.

kungfupannda · 15/07/2019 22:17

Armageddon Blush

Etino · 15/07/2019 22:18

The Gunman with Sean Penn. Wonderfully dreadful.

FermatsTheorem · 15/07/2019 22:18

Mention of Dodgeball has just reminded me of another similar film: Blades of Glory.

And a Million Ways to Die in the West.
