I'm ill and I'm in the mood for a bad but enjoyable film. I'd appreciate any suggestions. TIA

An oldie from the 70s called ‘Tales That Witness Madness’ - surreally bad and completely bonkers. More modern: ‘The Descent’ - horror flick about potholing with zombies, anyone? Grin

PerfectPeony2 · 15/07/2019 21:16

White chicks (or is that just good?!) Shallow Hal, twilight, sex and the city (2), the nutty professor and anything with Adam Sandler.

SquishyFishy · 15/07/2019 21:16

The original buffs the vampire slayer film with Luke Perry in it

SquishyFishy · 15/07/2019 21:17

Buffy! 🤦‍♀️

TeachesOfPeaches · 15/07/2019 21:18

Agree with White Chicks. Also just watched Girls Trip which is of the same silliness but still fun to watch.

MoobaaMoobaa · 15/07/2019 21:19

Hot Tub Time machine.
still can't believe I like it Grin

bedunkalilt · 15/07/2019 21:21

I was going to say The Room too, although you really have to be the kind of person to enjoy a terribly made film! That and Samurai Cop Grin

On a more mainstream side of entertainment, I really think you can’t go wrong with pretty much any film from The Fast and The Furious franchise. I’m actively looking forward to Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw Grin You need no back story, in fact just jump in with The Fate of the Furious and get not only Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham and above all Vin Diesel being classically fast and furiously ridiculous, you also get to see Charlize Theron as an apparently super cyber terrorist.

That sentence alone is surely more than enough to sell the film?!

PerfectPeony2 · 15/07/2019 21:23

Aren’t they making a white chicks 2? I’m sooo excited if that’s actually happening. I quote that movie all the time. 😂

Namelessinseattle · 15/07/2019 21:24

The sweetest thing
Blended
Family stone
The holiday (Cameron Diaz’s wardrobe)
Bad neighbours

DeathMetalMum · 15/07/2019 21:25

Get Over It

Mid 00's teen film. So bad but so good!

Mean girs/bring it on - also fill a similar category.

GimmieTheCoffeeAndNooneDies · 15/07/2019 21:26

I see that Showgirls has already been mentioned, so I'd go with anything from the Joan Collins back catalogue, especially Empire of Ants, or I Don't Want To Be Born, but there are loads to choose from.

MoobaaMoobaa · 15/07/2019 21:27

oh, and Friends with benefits

Thefemalekeithrichards · 15/07/2019 21:28

Exit wounds (Steven Segal) and The Rock and Con Air (Nic Cage)

BobbinThreadbare123 · 15/07/2019 21:28

Broken Arrow - Travolta, Slater and a ridiculous plot; peak 90s
Con Air
The Rock
Time Cop - peak van Damme!

piefacedClique · 15/07/2019 21:29

The wedding planner!

CigarsofthePharoahs · 15/07/2019 21:30

It's got to be Sharknado. A truly terrible film with one of the leads showing off some truly terrible Botox. You can't act scared if your face can't move.
It's even better if you watch it with the Rifftrax commentary on Amazon prime. I was in stitches!

IHaveBrilloHair · 15/07/2019 21:30

Commando

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 15/07/2019 21:30

Any shark film.

Killer doughnuts from outer space.

Terrordactyl

I love a bad movie.

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 15/07/2019 21:31

I can't think of one, but DD says Nativity 2; Danger in the Manger.

WoollyMollyMonkey · 15/07/2019 21:32

I can’t think of the name of it (it has Alan Rickman in it) and they are actors in a Star Trek type programme who get mistaken for real space explorers by aliens who get them to help them from being attacked by other aliens. It’s better than it sounds!

BostonFerl · 15/07/2019 21:36

Face Off. Even the premise is fabulously stupid.

BabloHoney · 15/07/2019 21:40

The Faculty

PineappleSeahorse · 15/07/2019 21:44

Thank you all. These sound perfect.

@BlythesEyes

My DH often quotes "I could eat a peach for hours" because he knows it makes my arsehole clench and my toes curl with cringiness

Isthebigwomanhere · 15/07/2019 21:47

You got mail

It's utter shite but I love it 😊
