What are you having for dinner/tea in this heat?

I have zero appetite right now. Throwing fish fingers, chips and beans on for DS. Not sure what to have myself -- either cheese and crackers, or an omelette. DP will probably have a cheese sandwich or bowl of cereal (we also need to go shopping!).

What's everyone having for dinner in this heat?

Stir fry. It’s not hot here at all.

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 28/06/2019 16:24

For the dc cold salmon and salad, they will eat in the garden.

Later once dh is home me and him will have Tortellini pasta (take 3 minutes to cook) and salad, we will eat in the garden also

Leek and potato soup, not especially hot here in London (yet).

We're having creamy mashed potato's, mince with onion's, mushroom's and peas.
Not until about 6.30pm, haven't eaten since breakfast. Hot weather doesn't put me off hot food, i like a meal at dinner time.

Floralnomad · 28/06/2019 16:28

Not that hot here (SE) dd and I have just had a late lunch down at the beach with the dog so I’m doing stuffed mushrooms and beans for dh . Tomorrow when it’s supposed to be hot we are having a barbecue at my sisters .

PutyourtoponTrevor · 28/06/2019 16:28

Very hot here in the NW, I asked DP what he'd like so we're having sandwiches on nice bread.

FamilyOfAliens · 28/06/2019 16:28

Scorching here (Surrey).

I’m having spaghetti with fresh red chilli, garlic and flat leaf parsley.

MyNameIsCharlesII · 28/06/2019 16:29

Not hot here in Midlands.

Am doing burgers 😋

Poppyfr33 · 28/06/2019 16:30

Homemade cottage pie and chips.

Crochetcrochetcrochet · 28/06/2019 16:30

Picky bits at my 5yo request: sausages, new potatoes, carrot and cucumber sticks, cherry tomatoes.

I'm probably going to skip the sausages and use up the veggies in a salad with halloumi/ feta.

Thisnamechanger · 28/06/2019 16:31

Train sandwiches and wine

newmomof1 · 28/06/2019 16:31

@MyNameIsCharlesII where are you?! I'm just outside of Birmingham and it's BOILING!

Don't know what I'm having for tea though 😂

MyNameIsCharlesII · 28/06/2019 16:32

Very North Gloucestershire. It’s sunny but very windy.

Sandybval · 28/06/2019 16:34

Pasta with tuna, red onion, cucumber, tomato and a bit of cheese. Delicious and a bit more filling than a salad, but equally as nice in this weather.

thornyhousewife · 28/06/2019 16:34

Cheese wraps, salad veg, crisps, dip. Whatever is low config - I'm not putting the oven on.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 28/06/2019 16:46

It’s bloody baking here! We are having a BIG bowl of salad, veggies and dips, too hot to eat anything else.

LuckyMarmiteLover · 28/06/2019 16:48

BBQ and Wine

babysharkah · 28/06/2019 16:52

Hm pizza - lazy version using tortillas as a base, with salad.

mrsm43s · 28/06/2019 16:58

Scorching here in Surrey! We're getting the BBQ going tonight, so meats, salad, bean salad, rice salad etc. Bought enough stuff to hopefully last us over the weekend.

iPodge · 28/06/2019 16:59

Fish and chips or takeaway pizza. DD1 is back later from a residential and I promised her the takeaway of her choice.

billysboy · 28/06/2019 17:01

Lots of fizzy stuff served cold I think its roasting here in Bucks

just got a hot tub and cant help but smile at the irony of that atm

IShitGlitter · 28/06/2019 17:01

I dont feel like cooking tonight so just sent DH out for pizzas.

Ohyesiam · 28/06/2019 17:04

I had planned to turn bolognaise into a lasagne. But it’s too hot for the oven, so now it’s staying a bolognaise!

Bentley111 · 28/06/2019 17:04

Baking here too...!

We are having mushroom & asparagus risotto with fresh tiger bread.

1forAll74 · 28/06/2019 17:08
