What are you having for dinner/tea in this heat?

I have zero appetite right now. Throwing fish fingers, chips and beans on for DS. Not sure what to have myself -- either cheese and crackers, or an omelette. DP will probably have a cheese sandwich or bowl of cereal (we also need to go shopping!).

What's everyone having for dinner in this heat?

Lamb hotpot here. Not that warm in Norfolk and I’ve had a really stressful couple of weeks so craving comfort food.

White wine in the garden later.

drsausage · 28/06/2019 19:38

38C here and I'm craving burgers.

It is! Could barely see for the fog very early this morning but turned out a beautiful, hot sunny day. Two days in a row woohoo!

fraxion · 28/06/2019 19:46

Oh for dinner we hard Markies thin stone-baked pizza and salad.

UnicornCat · 28/06/2019 19:58

We had a korma. The weather doesn't seem to affect what I want to eat.

maddiemookins16mum · 28/06/2019 20:01

It’s just a medium warm day here in Kent (still breezy), we had spaghetti carbonara and garlic bread.
Hotter tomorrow I think so a BBQ is planned.

Bigbopboo · 28/06/2019 20:58

Agree. Average sunny day in Kent. Surprised to hear Surrey dwellers saying its scorching

Jinglejanglefish · 28/06/2019 21:07

I'm on Berkshire/Surrey border and it's just been a sunny day, not scorching at all.

EdWinchester · 28/06/2019 21:09

meh. We eat the same regardless.

We're in SE and it's not boiling.

HeyMicky · 28/06/2019 21:09

BBQ lamb steaks with pita and salad

Tomorrow is a more traditional BBQ and Sunday we'll BBQ salmon with salad and some rosemary potato wedges done in the oven. This week's meal plan involves gazpacho; cold chicken, boiled potatoes and salad; and satay cabbage and noodle salad.

Thisnamechanger · 28/06/2019 21:11

UPDATE.

Due to a train being cancelled am now on one that takes 4 hours and all the catering guy had was beer and Mars bars. Got one of each but actually want to cry. So hungry! Sad

Mia184 · 28/06/2019 21:16

I made a coca which is a Catalan pizza. Not quite hot here today.

Timeforatincture · 28/06/2019 21:17

Salade Nicoise and a lovely bottle of chilled rose.

fantasmasgoria1 · 28/06/2019 21:24

Leicester and its been really hot!

happypotamus · 28/06/2019 21:37

We had a margherita pizza with DC's favourite toppings added at home like we do every Friday. It is warm here but not ridiculously hot. Tomorrow is forecast to be ridiculously hot, and dinner needs to be vegan and fairly quick and easy. We are having mint and basil griddled peach salad with olive bread. Sunday is meant to be warm but DH insists sausages, mash and veg will be appropriate.

Beamur · 28/06/2019 21:39

Paella

Chloe9 · 28/06/2019 21:43

Sushi and watermelon

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 28/06/2019 21:45

We had hummus with lamb that had been stuck on the kamado to cook until it was flaky and crisp

HollyBollyBooBoo · 28/06/2019 21:46

Only 22 degrees here, we had slow cooker chicken tikka masala, lush.

BoronationStreet · 28/06/2019 21:48

Takeaway and I barely ate anything. Sad

cricketmum84 · 28/06/2019 22:53

@BoronationStreet same here. I ordered a Singapore chow mein with no meat or oil. It was basically a Chinese with all the fun sucked out of it. Not that I missed the meat too much as I've been veggie for about 3 months now and not missing it. But god did I miss the oil!

TapasForTwo · 28/06/2019 22:56

It's not boiling in South Yorkshire either, just pleasantly warm. We had tortellini with pesto and tomato and cucumber salad.
