Not pregnant.. So what's in my tummy?

I have put weight on lately, but some days I look like I am about to give birth.

Any ideas what is going on?

First pic is me today, second pic is me about 3 weeks ago. I know it's a different angle but should help compare.

Are some women just shaped like this and it's just that I have put weight on?

Have you had children. What's the 3rd pic?

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 25/06/2019 20:56

It's probably something fairly benign, but I recommend that you see your GP as soon as possible to get it checked out because there are some things that can cause abdominal swelling that would need urgent treatment.

WhereForArtThouBray · 25/06/2019 20:57

There are only 2 pics, the two people in black is the mirror reflection.

Yes ai have had children, youngest is 7.

Could be a cyst? I had a huge one removed from my ovary a couple of years ago. They're common, and can grow fast.

MoreHairyThanScary · 25/06/2019 20:59

Does it go up and down? If so may be food intolerance.

FelixFelicis6 · 25/06/2019 21:00

Would definitely go to the GP...

BikeRunSki · 25/06/2019 21:01

Cyst?
Hernia?

Eaudear · 25/06/2019 21:01

Yes, I would probably go to the GP to get checked. Do you have any pain? Does it feel like bloating (like it would be relieved with a good fart)?

orangeshoebox · 25/06/2019 21:01

any other symptoms? bloating, funny period, pain?

BogglesGoggles · 25/06/2019 21:02

I would go to a doctor with that

WhereForArtThouBray · 25/06/2019 21:02

It does seem to go up and down. I dint know if I am just piling on the pounds and kidding myself that there is some excuse?

Its the shape though!

5BlueHydrangea · 25/06/2019 21:03

I've gone that sort of shape. Sometimes I look very pregnant. I think it's partly weight gain due to menopause and partly food intolerances. I can get painfully bloated at times. I'm monitoring it myself but no clear answers yet.

tigerseye10 · 25/06/2019 21:03

Some people are apple shaped and put weight straight on their tummies (I'm one of them!) but your weight distribution does look a bit abnormal so I would go to the GP to be in the safe side. Have you had any other symptoms such as pain or bleeding?

WhereForArtThouBray · 25/06/2019 21:04

I have been very windy the last few months. Had a couple of funny periods but messed about a bit with my pill (I also have a copper coil so not pregnant) so put them down to that.

Had some god awful period pains and other non specific random pains but nithibg consistent.

You do need to see GP to rule out ovarian cancer. Not trying to worry you, and it most likely isn't that. It's probably nothing at all. But you should have a CA125 test and an ultrasound, and you do need to specifically mention bloating and possible ovarian cancer.

HollowTalk · 25/06/2019 21:05

I would definitely see a GP about that. I hope everything is OK.

Ravingstarfish · 25/06/2019 21:05

Coeliac? PCOS?

WhereForArtThouBray · 25/06/2019 21:06

I am early 30s which makes ovarian cancer quite rare I think.

Seems most would go to the doctor though so I am not over reacting and wasting their time.

Sorry to state the obvious but have you actually done a pregnancy test? My mum fell pregnant with the copper coil. Midwife insisted it must have fallen out Hmm but when my sister was born, the coil was embedded in the placenta!

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 25/06/2019 21:07

Have you actually done a pregnancy test?

You don’t/possibly have crohns or anything like an intolerance?

WhereForArtThouBray · 25/06/2019 21:09

I havent done a test but I have a copper coil, take the pill fairy regularly though not perfectly as I take it for my skin rather than contraception and I have been having regular periods.

I am absolutely worn out too, needing naps to get through the day, i have started some vitamins and iron to help with that.

OP posts:
Myusernameismud · 25/06/2019 21:10

Maybe do a test anyway while you're waiting to see the GP. No contraception is 100% reliable.

InSpaceNooneCanHearYouScream · 25/06/2019 21:12

So you have unusual tiredness as well as unusual bloating. I agree ovarian cancer is more unlikely at your age but still worth ruling out with those symptoms

orangeshoebox · 25/06/2019 21:12

www.nhs.uk/conditions/ovarian-cancer/symptoms/

you tick quite a few of those.
go see your gp.
and yes, do a pregnancy test before as that will be the first thing gp will ask.

spugzbunny · 25/06/2019 21:13

It's not impossible to get pregnant on the copper coil. They can also fall out without you realising
