Not pregnant.. So what's in my tummy?

I have put weight on lately, but some days I look like I am about to give birth.

Any ideas what is going on?

First pic is me today, second pic is me about 3 weeks ago. I know it's a different angle but should help compare.

Are some women just shaped like this and it's just that I have put weight on?

I get like that when my IBS flares up; I can look perfectly normal at lunchtime and eight months pregnant by mid-afternoon.

Definitely worth seeing the doc.

MummyToEthan · 25/06/2019 21:59

Agree with Gp apo't if test is negative

Meyoumeanmeh · 25/06/2019 21:59

My tummy looks like that after a few too many evenings of alcohol and eating bread.

I did have a panic about ovarian cancer but (unrelated) surgery meaning lots of alcohol free days -due to blood thinning injections- and calories controlled portions (thanks NHS hospital stay) meant that I now know what it takes to have a flat tummy that doesn’t look 6 months pregnant.
Returning to normal-for me- eating and drinking has meant a return to looking how your pic looks. If you get up and first thing in the morning it still looks like that start keeping a food/drink diary and see what triggers it.
After a couple of weeks if it never goes down go and see GP.

Placemarking for the pregnancy test result!

DannyWallace · 25/06/2019 22:07

That looks exactly like my tummy when my IBS was at its worst!
It got better when I became unbelievably strict with food.

Whatever is doing this to you, I hope you get it sorted!

WhereForArtThouBray · 25/06/2019 22:08

Well test is negative and BF thinks 8 have lost my marbles.

I am leaning towards a food intolerance but will phone the gp tomorrow. Not holding my breath for an appointment any time soon. Will try to get a picture tomorrow in the same angle.

I have been eating/drinking more as you do when you are settling in with a new relationship.

Could also be a fibroid - I had a friend who has a very large one that made her look pregnant. Hope you can get seen soon OP.

Nanna50 · 25/06/2019 22:11

I fell pregnant on the pill, still had periods as it is a withdrawal bleed. Went to GP as I thought I had a virus, I was so tired. He did pregnancy test, if you are not rigid with your pill it’s not effective and as other posters have said, the coil is not 100%.

Could the wind be baby movement?

Nanna50 · 25/06/2019 22:11

Oops cross post, not pregnant then.

Cherrysoup · 25/06/2019 22:14

I dunno, but my dh has an amazing up/down belly. He reacts very noticeably to certain foods, honestly looks pregnant and becomes very bloated.

stucknoue · 25/06/2019 22:18

Tell your gp you need an urgent appointment because of possible cancer symptoms, should get you in same day - it's rare but you tick enough boxes for them to refer you

myrtleWilson · 25/06/2019 22:22

Am sorry if this scares you but have you read twitterqueen1 thread on general health - it is the story of her diagnosis and treatment for ovarian cancer.

You may want to read it and push your Dr for tests - its better to rule it out than for them to fob you off with random stuff....

Fingers crossed for straightforward outcome

Dowser · 25/06/2019 22:23

Parasites?
Don’t freak out..we all get them..and they can cause bloating

notapizzaeater · 25/06/2019 22:23

My coeliac son looks like that if he's eaten anything with gluten in.

WhereForArtThouBray · 25/06/2019 22:26

I will look for the thread and have a read tomorrow. I am sure it is something and nothing but better to be safe than sorry.

Thanks everyone, off to bed now. I will update when I know anything.

Threadworns and parasites though jeez!

You need to see your doctor

KnittingForMittens · 25/06/2019 22:31

You said ovarian cancer in your 30s means it is unlikely to be that... not necessarily! You can get it at any age. Please see your doctor as it may not even be that sinister! Could simply be food intolerance like the previous posters have said.

ShowMeTheKittens · 25/06/2019 22:33

You just need to go to the GP. This is not the GP.

GCAcademic · 25/06/2019 22:34

I second the suggestion that it could be fibroids. I have some large ones and look pregnant.

ReadyForActionRyderSir · 25/06/2019 22:38

I have endometriosis and bloat like that sometimes 😫

MrsMozartMkII · 25/06/2019 22:50

Look at the Hyperparathyroid site, they also have a FB group.

Missillusioned · 25/06/2019 22:51

Ovarian cyst can present like that

HungryForSnacks · 26/06/2019 05:57

My friend has liver disease and her stomach keeps filling up with fluid, making her look pregnant

TheBrockmans · 26/06/2019 06:12

If you suspect gluten intolerance then you need to be eating gluten regularly in order to have a coeliac test so don't stop eating gluten yet. Even if negative sometimes gluten can still be the issue so once you get the all clear from the blood test it is worth considering still alongside other possible food triggers. Hopefully something which is easily sorted.

AJPTaylor · 26/06/2019 06:22

Could be a fibroid. That's how I looked. Hysterectomy sorted it out
