Mumsnet Dreams Mattress Spirit: Complaint

Michelleka · 20/06/2019 22:51

Dear Mumsnetter. I recently bought Spirit Mumsnet mattress from Dreams only because I trusted Mumnet. I am thoroughly disappointed. I have no time to exchange the mattress before the exchange time finishes and I have no idea what to do. The mattress is comfortable but terribly hot. I expected that Mumsnet pays attention to temperature. Both my husband and I sweat like mad. The room is cool and we have the lightest duvet but the mattress feels like an oven. I am very disappointed and would like to know to whom I can complain. Also disappointed with Dreams. They charge for exchange and only allow it between 30 and 40 days of purchase. We are going away before the 30 days is up... And in any case I don't trust them... Please advise.

Dear Mumsnet.

I put Vaseline on my face last night and I don’t look 17 yet. I am holding you responsible.

Please advise.

I bought a chicken, it did not feed the 5000 for a week .. boo Mumsnet!

WhereForArtThouBray · 20/06/2019 23:17

Wow I wonder what other products mumsnet makes.

TalkinAboutManetManet · 20/06/2019 23:20

Sorry you’re unhappy with your mattress but this line cracked me up, for some reason.

WeaselMcWeasel · 20/06/2019 23:22

Placemarking so I remember to check back on this tomorrow😏

yellowblueorange · 20/06/2019 23:23

Is quite a random thing to make really, a mattress.

aIways · 20/06/2019 23:23

God, they've got their fingers in all sorts of pies haven't they Grin

Mumsnet, the UK's biggest website for parents, and the UK"s leading bed specialist Dreams, have formed a strategic partnership working together to create two mattresses specially designed for parents.

Can't see anything about what makes it specifically for parents though? Doesn't look wipe clean for your kid's accidents or your post-birth weak bladder, no super strong springs for those '5 little monkeys' re-enactments, no barrier in the middle to stop your bloody cosleeping toddler kicking you in the face for the 24th time that night.

Completely impractical if you ask me.

WeaselsRising · 20/06/2019 23:26

First post as well Hmm.

We have the Dreams Mumsnet Kindred mattress and I'm really pleased with it.

FlibbertyGiblets · 20/06/2019 23:26

Well I'll go to the foot of our stairs.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 21/06/2019 00:50

No activated charcoal layer to absorb post-curry farts either.

This is absolutely heartbreaking. So much negativity and sarcasm here. I only joined the mumsnet yesterday to try and see if anyone else has had a similar experience and if there is a way I could bring up the issue with whomever took part in designing the mattress. Instead the majority of the responses are unnecessarily sarcastic and hostile. Clearly this place is not moderated and clearly there are a lot of very unfriendly people here. I always thought of mumsnet as a friendly environment. I think those people who wrote sarcastic one-liners as a response to an honest genuine question should be terribly ashamed of themselves. I thank the very few people who wrote something not mocking.
For your information, it is perfectly natural to bring up the issue with a mattress that Mumsnet claims to have designed in partnership with Dreams. The mattress has the name of Mumsnet and claims to be designed by mumsnet. My reaction and disappontment was because I trusted the name Mumsnet (just as I trusted it here on the chat rooms hoping there are friendly people here). In any case, as one helpful answer says here: I am unlikely to find any solutions in here. Just wondering how I can contact mumsnet.

Hi there OP,

We were just taking a quick break from the loom here at MNHQ when we stumbled across this thread. Grin

Could you please email [email protected]? We'll be happy to help.

For those of you wondering about a bit more information - you can find out more about how we made the mattress here and read up a bit about what Mumsnetters thought about it.

SmellMySmellbow · 21/06/2019 10:47

Can you exchange for a net mums mattress? It has a wonderful ticker tape embroidered round the edge with smiley faces, hearts and cupids, and not a jot of sarcasm used in the making of it.

Michelleka · 21/06/2019 11:34

Thanks. I will. Anything to get me away from people here.
