Continuing the one about Carol, Dick and the “ free “ holiday .

Carol has replied to Anne saying she is shocked that Anne would cancel her flight after promising it. Anne has told her that she gave her no option .
Both Barbara and I have messaged Carol saying that she has behaved badly and should apologise to Anne.

I'd go with a box with two golf balls in mailed to him at the club bar with a note saying: 'Here are some balls since you obviously don't have enough to deal with people face to face'.

Thanks for the update, Oldbutstillgotit - brilliant that you had such a good time, and totally believable that Dick would demand a reimbursement, rather than just pay for Carol to go too so they could still actually use his flight.

Guess he felt it was better "economy" to lose his flight and try to get the money back than actually pay for his holiday.

I do hope Eric (was it Eric?) asks Dick how his "free holiday" went at the golf club - I'd LOVE to see him squirm his way out of that!! Grin

I really hope that you hear no more from them, but I do wish that I could have been a fly on the wall of the golf club/their house

I hope that Ann is feeling calmer since being away and will block Carol's number on her phone to avoid any future stress

Just popping back to say that unfortunately the saga goes on and I will admit not really knowing what to do other than continue to support Anne.
We have learned that Dick told his golf club mates that Anne had cancelled their places at the last minute. He insisted that Anne had been fine with him going until her sidekicks ( that’ll be Barbara and me !) got involved ! Eddie tried to put him right but Dick stomped out saying he hoped it rained every day!
Anne saw Carol at yoga yesterday. After, Carol asked to speak to her - said that Anne had utterly humiliated her , caused her anxiety to go through the roof and she was barely sleeping .
She said that Anne should reimburse Dick’s flight plus their travel insurance ! Anne told her no chance and walked away but now we are wondering what - if anything- to do next ?

I’d be at a point of telling her that I’m sick to the back teeth of their bare faced lies and that many people including Dick’s so called golf buddies were well aware of the cheeky sods. I am however more than capable of holding my own in an argument ( I’m a bit of a twat when people piss me off) Grin

You, Eric, Barbara and Anne confront Dick at the Golf course with all the holiday booking forms asking him to show you his name on any of the original paperwork for the holiday and plane ticket bookings. And as he can not them he needs to stop spreading rumors about you or will contact a solicitor about it.

And he can take you to the small claims court to get his money back.

Sadly that friendship is over and even if they are it to small claims court no one is going to make Anne pay for that. Or they could th judge rinder!

Tell Carol that her husband is slandering all three of you. So far as you know everyone so far is aware that he’s lying so he’s only making himself look bad. However if you find that even one person believes him you will be seeking a damages and an apology through the courts.
