Carol has replied to Anne saying she is shocked that Anne would cancel her flight after promising it. Anne has told her that she gave her no option .
Both Barbara and I have messaged Carol saying that she has behaved badly and should apologise to Anne.

Dick (Alan Partridge) will burst into the villa and go "AAH HAAAAAA"

Hopefully Eddie can drop a few hints at the golf club about them not being on the 'free holiday' and why.

I agree with Eddie, Dick is trying to save face by not admitting free holidays off.

I can't decide if they'll have booked a cheap package deal or lie low for a week. Last thing he's going to admit is the 'free' holiday got cancelled.

Have been lurking on this thread, just caught up and I’m loving the cast suggestions! My worry would be that there’s usually a bit of a sympathy/pity angle with Partridge, whereas Dick is clearly totally unlike able- I think John Challis can play that role convincingly. Coogan-as-Partridge is surely the comedy turn as Dick’s golf buddy?

I really want an update from the OP to find out if Dick and Carol were on the flight

Ruth Jones /Nessa is an inspired suggestion from earlier in the thread- perhaps as the golf club barmaid who calls out Dick on his CFery?

Anne is definitely Helen Mirren.
