Continuing the one about Carol, Dick and the “ free “ holiday .

Carol has replied to Anne saying she is shocked that Anne would cancel her flight after promising it. Anne has told her that she gave her no option .
Both Barbara and I have messaged Carol saying that she has behaved badly and should apologise to Anne.

How on Earth was Carol still ‘bewildered’. I do feel a bit sorry for her - she had the chance of a great time away with her friends and El Villzillo has ruined that, and destroyed her friendships.

She's destroyed her own friendships and chance of a holiday. She's a grown up with responsibility for herself and her own actions, not everything has to be the fault of an abusive man, even on MN.

This is just one of those fabulous stories that even when the Villasweeties are having the magnificent holiday that they truly deserve, we will be glued to our phones, iPads and laptops wanting MORE from the Villazillas!!!

I'm glad it's all worked out well! I'd just try and make sure you don't talk about Carol and Dick too much on the holiday. So far all the run up to the holiday has been about them - make sure your holiday is all about not just Anne but also you two lovely friends who have supported her so well! It'll be really tempting to bitch about them when you're out there - try and focus on yourselves and making some fab new memories. Have a very well-deserved break!

Well this has got me through a hellish night of cluster feeding, so thank you Carol and Dick! I'm torn between wanting there to be peace for you guys and more drama at the airport! Only so these two can get a good dose of karma! Keep us updated and enjoy your holiday!

Anne, Barbara and OP have got it sorted and are well shot of Carol and Dick.
I'm sure they have far too much sense to get further involved with them.

I think that a MN posse should escort Anne, Barbara and @Oldbutstillgotit to the airport, to see them off with due celebration (streamers, brass band, paparazzi), and to ensure that Dick can't get anywhere near them!

On a serious note, though - I hope that the three of you have an amazing holiday - you all three sound like wonderful people, and deserve the best time, @Oldbutstillgotit.

I'm in Spain atm. I shall be looking out for three happy ladies of a certain age being followed at a discreet distance by a miserable looking couple carrying assorted luggage!

I'm waiting for Dicks outraged phonecall shouting about how he needs to be reimbursed for his flight...

In the Mexican house thieves saga (TL:DR Neigbours pressured poster into letting them use their holiday home in Mexico, copied the keys and then had 6 subsequent secret holidays there, only found out when real friends were staying; tried to tell the police that they were the ones invited and not the friends ), the neighbour tried to get the Mexican house owner to pay for the hotel they had to stay in after they were evicted by the police

Someone at the golf club if dick turns up next week needs to say ‘I thought you were on some free holiday?’ See what he says, he may combust with rage.

Be interesting to see if they cancel Dick's flight....they could book Carol's themselves.
