Carol has replied to Anne saying she is shocked that Anne would cancel her flight after promising it. Anne has told her that she gave her no option .
Both Barbara and I have messaged Carol saying that she has behaved badly and should apologise to Anne.

Just catching up on Villazillas.

How Carol cannot understand that her flight has been cancelled is beyond me. The rudeness of expecting to bring her man, his boasting down the golf club and then phoning the villa owner. Absolutely cheeky fucker behaviour!

Thank you for the excellent username inspiration. Been due a change for a while and Aston Villa are my local team so the name is apt.

Obviously I'm not Dick/Carol. I hope you ladies have a fab time and this whole saga doesn't cast a shadow over your holiday. Might be worth switching off your phone's for a bit just in case Carol tries to guilt trip you while you're out there.

A lot of people have suggested that Dick has cohesive control over Carol, have they considered it might be the other way? Less common but it does happen. All the things done by both parties could have been instigated by the other. Dick could have called up because it's what Carol expects, as well as Carol claiming bullying because Dick requires something. Or they could both by CFs. We have absolutely no way of telling.

All very logical but doesn't account for him bragging in the golf club that they have blagged a free holiday in Spain

People like Carol and Dick either have zero conception that they are being cunts, or, more likely, they just don't care.

I bet Carole will be telling all and sundry how hard done by she has been by Anne.

Seriously though, pool old Anne. She offered a wonderfully lovely gesture to her friends as a thank you for their support and it has backfired spectacularly. OP I hope you've told her how much virtual support she has here.
And I know there's a queue, but I'm in line to go instead, happy to bunk down on the sofa in the new villa. Don't remotely mind that y'all are coffee drinking, wine guzzling grannies, they're the best kind.

Stand firm and decline to meet with her before your holiday.

Tell her you'll plan to meet up after you return and everyone has had some time apart.

I would be so entertained by this but I really feel for Anne, who just wanted to do something nice for friends.

This is just one of those fabulous stories that even when the Villasweeties are having the magnificent holiday that they truly deserve, we will be glued to our phones, iPads and laptops wanting MORE from the Villazillas!!! (What appalling people!!! Dick needs to be denied oxygen immediately - *simply for snapping his fingers at wait staff alone. Can’t abide people like that!!!)

How could Carol even think for one minute that if she did meet up and sort all this out that you would all end up having a fabulous holiday?
There is no coming back from the mess that Carol and Villazilla have created.
