Has anyone worked with Boris? What’s he really like?

Surely he can’t be that bad??? Everyone seems to think he’s a complete tosser (me included), so how is he so popular? Does anyone know the truth?

I don't think Boris quite has the height to become Britain's Trump, Hunt is taller I think he'll get it and I don't think he'll be a version of trump

Just a scenario for you:

Would any woman who had had her kids as part of a few affairs, some of these kids possibly ‘unacknowledged’- (which is a disgusting thing to do to a child if true)- while also having kids with different husbands and then after multiple public scandals which must have been awful for the husbands and their kids, this woman is now with a man more than two decades younger than herself....
And this woman has famously made numerous political blunders in their job wasting public money and including racist and sexist aspects to some of those blunders ..
... and who is known to be transparently self-serving careerist (like suddenly coming out for Brexit which looked suspiciously like a convenient way to challenge the incumbent PM)
... and most importantly who is associated with literally no specific positive self-directed political achievement or policy ideas in the public mind apart from ‘being a bit of a character’

... would that woman EVER be talked of as the next PRIME MINISTER of the UK?!

Fleetheart · 21/06/2019 14:54

@fancyribbon - worth posting that on the conservatives website just to remind them!

My friend did and I think liked him but did note he tried to push in the front of the lunch queue in the canteen. That’s all the information I need to know he’s a bad ‘un.

Grin This comment has to win. It was back on page 2 i think and i remembered it all this time. Pure genius!

neighbour called police last night because of a woman (thought to be his girlfriend) screaming in their flat (the Guardian have a recording apparently)

justasking111 · 21/06/2019 20:11

Sounds like he has his hands full with his new lady.

Whydoesitalwaysdothis · 21/06/2019 22:07

Really hoping this scuppers his chances. Police called to a domestic ? Not very PM like. I can't imagine this happening to Tony Blair or Cameron!

FancyRibbon · 21/06/2019 22:55

WTF? Surely he can’t be elected PM.

Egghead68 · 21/06/2019 23:13

An ex-colleague’s partner worked with him when he was mayor and said he was horrible.

BasiliskStare · 23/06/2019 23:17

It’s boarding school you see. No one teaches them proper self care.

Oh do give over

Back to whether Boris is good

BasiliskStare · 23/06/2019 23:18

Oh sorry were you being ironic - sorry

Sashkin · 24/06/2019 04:10

My (male) uni housemate went into to become a Tory PPS, and they all chat amongst themselves about their bosses. Apparently Boris was known for being handsy with the interns, deliberately getting young women drunk in order to take advantage of them, etc, to the extent that his office tried to keep young girls away from him and place them elsewhere within HoC (I was actually expecting a historic rape scandal to emerge during this leadership contest, rather than DV).

Also well know for “narc rages”, so the story about “an hour of ranting about an opponent in a taxi” sounds about right.

No stories about Gove or Hunt, I think my friend pre-dated their tenure as MPs (or they are too boring for me to have heard any gossip). Davis Davis is supposed to be a complete knob to work for though.

Decormad38 · 24/06/2019 04:57

Anyone here vote Tory? Bet you're proud!!

Decormad38 · 24/06/2019 05:08

@breaker Boris have you not got more pressing things to be doing?

LaBelleSausage · 24/06/2019 06:06

DF knows him.
Says he genuinely believes he is arrogant enough to be voted in as PM on the back of his ‘out by Halloween’ promise, then if he can’t see things going his way, turn around, claim there was information he wasn’t privy to before he became PM and cancel the whole thing.

He’s described him as ruthless, selfish and very, very intelligent but incredibly lazy.
Excellent at getting people to do things for him but has a staggering sense of entitlement.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 24/06/2019 13:20

@LaBelleSausage, if he’s prepared to back out of the whole thing, that’s possibly the most encouraging thing I’ve read for months!

LaBelleSausage · 24/06/2019 13:52

@pasbeaucoupdegendarme that’s just something DF has said he wouldn’t be surprised by as he doesn’t believe the man is actually pro Brexit, just pro Boris, and he won’t want to risk career suicide.
I think the only thing we can be certain of is that we really don’t know what we would be getting with him.

AKissAndASmile · 13/07/2020 23:24

Interesting thread. Yes, it's a zombie, but I was bored and curious. I've only read the first two pages, but am shocked at the amount of people that say he is clever. How can one be both clever and incompetent?!🤔

ChangeThePassword · 14/07/2020 00:12

There are many different kinds of intelligence. People are not usually gifted in all of them.
