Has anyone worked with Boris? What’s he really like?

Surely he can’t be that bad??? Everyone seems to think he’s a complete tosser (me included), so how is he so popular? Does anyone know the truth?

I don't care who he sleeps with, it's entirely up to him.

I care that in my personal experience he is completely incapable of relating to me and people like me, ie people he considers lower class than himself.

I suspect many Tory MPs are of a similar 'class' so they won't see that side of him.

I have no patience at all with class issues. He is no better than me just because he is rich and went to a posh school and had fancier opportunities.

Fleetheart · 19/06/2019 11:01

I agree re the not understanding normal issues. But actually I don’t want somebody who is practised in the art of deception (ie Boris and his many mistresses) being our PM. Theresa May, and Gordon Brown for example had many faults but there was no suspicion that they were anything but honourable to their spouses. That says a lot I think. If you can deceive your wife you can easily deceive everyone else.

Not even that. Under our current system, it's possible to end up in government on barely over a third of the vote

Not even that. He's about to become PM off the back of half the votes of about 160,000 Tory party members. So about 0.17% of the total electorate Hmm.

Marina wasn't his first wife BTW, he left his first wife for her way back when.

BlamesFartsOnTheNeighbour · 19/06/2019 12:11

Is Rees-Mogg actually posh, or is it just an act? Rich, yes, but he's not like proper aristocracy, is he?

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 19/06/2019 15:18

Based on the debate last night I reckon he'll be canny in his appointments and have someone else doing the work...Jeremy Hunt if he's lending him votes to keep him in. He had Dominic Raab's book in his car. He'll be the figurehead with minions doing all the work underneath. Problem with that - one might stab him in the back. In the same way May shunted him off as Foreign Secretary it will be intreresting if he puts one of the other four in post and in that position. If he does, they are presumably who he thinks is his biggest rival.

SisterMaryLoquacious · 19/06/2019 15:35

I agree that JRM comes from fairly standard upper-middle class stock, it’s just that his father was very influential.

It’s an interestingly bifurcated contest, with Johnson, Hunt, Stewart the product of very prominent/privileged families at the heart of the establishment whilst McVey, Gove, Raab and Javid’s backgrounds are, for various reasons, the very opposite of privileged. Only Leadsom that I know of has the sort of bog standard background that I imagine best represents the Tory electorate. (Not sure about Hancock and the other one I’ve forgotten). I’m not sure what the moral is of that analysis, but it struck me as interesting.

dustyparadeground · 19/06/2019 17:29

I wouldn't say Foreign Secretary is being "shunted off" ...one of the great offices of State, surely?

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 19/06/2019 18:18

Yes but one which means you travel a lot so Bojo couldn't shitstir as much at Westminster.

LiveandBreathe · 20/06/2019 12:04

Just spoke to a friend who is senior in a Brexit role in the civil service who said they think it'll definitely be Boris, and that the deal Theresa May got was the best one we'll get...alternatives being to not leave (doesn't seem to be what people want), or no deal (career suicide for whoever does this) and whether the uncertainty that will bring for a decade.

If Boris commits career suicide that could be the silver lining.

Whydoesitalwaysdothis · 20/06/2019 15:00

The thing is, as someone said in that debate, I think it was Rory Stewart, even if a deal is agreed before the deadline which everyone wants, it can't be ratified and all the ends tied up in time for the end of October. That only leaves No Deal which Boris is happy with. Parliament has already said it won't accept NO Deal, so whichever way you look at it it's a dead end. Boris is't going to call a general election as he will definitely lose. It's an absolute joke.

Fleetheart · 20/06/2019 19:00

It really is very depressing. B J to be our next PM. No deal Brexit in the horizon. Chaos in parliament. Jeremy Corbyn leading the opposition. We need a saviour.

Has anyone worked with Boris? What’s he really like?
Sparky888 · 20/06/2019 23:29

I was told by a taxi driver this week that he got in his car and kicked the seat, angry, ranting and swearing about an opponent for an hour.

BooseysMom · 21/06/2019 03:29

A friend of mine was at a charity event to raise money, she was sat with her friends all women in their forties and professionals in their field, Boris walked up to them and said to his mate loudly “are these the prossies then ?” Supposed to be a hilarious joke, my friend was absolutely astounded at his attitude

If this is actually true, i am disgusted in him.

I think he's been caught with his pants down many times with women who weren't his wife. All these women who want to fuck Boris Johnson. Mind boggling. Would be like shagging a hairy blancmange....

Errr yeah, and only prossies would do that wouldn't they Boris?!

user1497863568 · 21/06/2019 03:43

All a bunch of criminals who are all terrified the underclass have simply given up.

JoannaCuppa · 21/06/2019 04:18

I really wish that one of the women accused of being prostitutes had replied with "I'm so sorry, but there is simply NO amount of money that would persuade any of us to go anywhere near you".

Whydoesitalwaysdothis · 21/06/2019 05:57

I wonder which opponent he was angry with? Sounds like a spoilt child.

HairyToity · 21/06/2019 06:21

The only fully paid up member of the conservative party I know is voting for Hunt. He doesn't like Boris. Is it a foregone conclusion Boris will be the next PM?

justasking111 · 21/06/2019 12:28

His girlfriend has worked on his weight, hair, kudos to her it was sorely needed, now if she could just work on his teeth. Why do toffs have such awful teeth, clothing, and hygiene issues.

JuliusNicholson · 21/06/2019 12:33

Yes just! His teeth are horrific, they’re thick with plaque. His breath must be rank.

BooseysMom · 21/06/2019 12:40

@JoannaCuppa.. too right! Grin

Whydoesitalwaysdothis · 21/06/2019 12:41

It’s boarding school you see. No one teaches them proper self care.
