A nurse told me something like this recently. It's the potassium apparently. Plays havoc with your electrolytes.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 02/06/2019 21:45

Wouldn't you throw up after the first 50 or so, or could you force feed them to your enemies eat them over the course of three or four days and still die?

YourSarcasmIsDripping · 02/06/2019 21:48

Sorry while a true and interesting fact it was actually a test thread to check if i could post with just a title and no OP. Turns out I can't.

There's a bit of a mystery going on on another thread .Grin

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 02/06/2019 21:50

Well, whatever reason you started the thread, I think you should still answer my question about the timescale .

AtrociousCircumstance · 02/06/2019 21:51

Do you mean if you get squashed by them? 🍌🤔

Redshoeblueshoe · 02/06/2019 21:52

I've only got one bunch of 🍌

Mrsemcgregor · 02/06/2019 21:53

Oooo what thread?

Mrsmorton · 02/06/2019 21:53

I think a banana is a unit of radiation... hazy memories of a course I did.

YourSarcasmIsDripping · 02/06/2019 21:54

@AtrociousCircumstance to get squashed it would be 88 from at tall enough building,at a high enough speed.Grin

I was just googling how much fruit seeds/stones it would take to kill the average sized person. 149 apple pips and according to io9 3 cherry stones if anybody is interested!

CMOTDibbler · 02/06/2019 21:54

Its not a unit of radiation, but they have enough naturally occuring radioactive potassium that they could technically be considered low level Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material in bulk

Soola · 02/06/2019 21:55

But only one banana skin to trip someone up and possibly cause a skull fracture and they die!

YourSarcasmIsDripping · 02/06/2019 21:56

50 million for death by radiation.

@BlackAmericanoNoSugar it would have to be all in one go. No idea if anyone could manage it.

AtrociousCircumstance · 02/06/2019 21:57

OP that’s fruit maths at its finest 🍌

YourSarcasmIsDripping · 02/06/2019 21:57

@WeCameToDance better delete our histories in case anyone close keels over.

Myusernameismud · 02/06/2019 21:59

Well well, what do you know? DS actually asked me this question today, not even kidding. He likes to ask things like 'if I drank the whole taps worth of water, would I die?'. I pointed out its impossible to drink 'a whole taps worth' but yes, you would most certainly die. Today he asked if eating 'about 309 bananas' would kill him, and I said most likely yes. I'm quite excited to tell him that it's only 195 in fact.

AtSea1979 · 02/06/2019 22:02

It would be quite expensive too, I could think of cheaper ways to go

YourSarcasmIsDripping · 02/06/2019 22:02

A banana is a unit of measurement too on certain "fun" websites.

You can post a picture of something next to a banana for scale.

YourSarcasmIsDripping Dh did look rather concerned when I told him the discoveries of my googling. Particularly when he opened the fridge to find the massive box of cherries bargain in Tesco that I don't usually buy!

YourSarcasmIsDripping · 02/06/2019 22:07

@JaneJeffer more like this

There's a title but no green post by OP. Straight purple replies, which meant the first poster was accused of sock puppeting/starting the thread herself.

That's the mystery thread from whomever asked. I suppose this will be deleted in the morning as it's a TAAT now.(with some banana fun facts)

It would be a lot fewer bananas to die if one had renal failure. Just saying.
