Are there any conspiracy theories that you just think could have an element of truth?

I love all things conspiracy theory - from a psychological/social point of view it's interesting to see what makes people fearful or pessimistic.

But I often do see some conspiracy theories a bit like Urban legends in that they could be an exaggerated truth.

Are there any conspiracy theories or rumours that you just think 'maybe...' or even ones you're completely sold on.

Always thought something was not quite right with the ' men in the moon' .What about that dodgy flag? A complete farce!

GlamGiraffe · 21/05/2019 05:41

TotheletterofthelawTHELETTER at the time, Iout of curiosity I tried the hold all in the bath thing. I'm a similar height tho the spy guy. It was fairly easily do-able for me!!Shock-but I couldn't get out again.luckily DH was on hand to galantly rescue me!!

What happened with Building 7, then? No planes hit it at all. The BBC reported that it had also fallen and then, 20 minutes later, it did fall

So do you believe the BBC were given a heads up that the building had been rigged with explosives or something? Why?

VoteJadot · 21/05/2019 06:43

I would have thought their visits would have been documented by now, even if only in the cheap supermarket mags

That makes no sense. If she is buried elsewhere then why haven't you seen pap shots of the boys visiting her there?

As someone who actually saw the second plane hit and the towers collapse I'm a bit shocked at the number of 9/11 "truthers" on this thread

Really? My husband was there, under the WTC in a bus, when the second plane hit. He said it sounded like a loud construction accident. I saw it live on TV. Many of his colleagues were already at work at Goldman Sachs a couple of blocks away. They saw the collapse of the buildings and it's because of what they saw that we don't believe the official story for a second.Have you read the firefighters reports? Have you read about the exploding cars?

GlamGiraffe · 21/05/2019 07:05

Having driven through the Alma underpass many times it's very easy to see how a speeding car, distracted by something like a camera flash could have easily lost control.a heavy armoured car like Diana's was reputed to be, would have easily spun on what is a narrow stretch of road if the driver was drunk, well you'd would be chips.
Why anyone wouldn't wear a seatbelt EVER is completely beyond me. If hers hadn't worked, THAT would have proven it to be a conspiracy. Allegedly it was not wearing a seatbelt that killed princess Diana and not the collision itself.
Did the car gave rear seat belts?

My number one conspiracy theory is that the people who actually run the country and the world regularly seed discord and new scandals for us to get het up about (Brexit, anyone?) so we don't focus on what is really happening and are instead busy eagerly picking over the scraps they throw us like happy, docile farm animals

This ^ 100%

Lweji · 21/05/2019 07:24

Regarding certain groups planting discord (e.g. Brexit, etc), it's not a conspiracy theory. It's well documented evidence. Russia, Cambridge Analítica, the guy who banked Farage, etc.
The spread of fake news with Internet bots and trolls is a well know phenomenon.

I'm curious, though. Do people who think Brexit is a conspiracy theory also voted for it, and believed the extra millions to the NHS, etc?

ArDali1 · 21/05/2019 07:33

handsoff
I believe they are getting help with all this to scare everyone.
How they got a hold of weapons. Who funded them.
There was a time when America helped the talibans fight against the soviet when they tookover Afghanistan. Now the Talibans are known as a big terrorist group.

sashh · 21/05/2019 07:44

I still think there is still something to come out about Hillsborough. I won't say more because of the legal situation.

Building 7 on 9/11. Lots of high rise have been on fire and gutted but not brought down.

I know I just stood there staring at the TV. I had just walked into my friend's home and asked what film she was watching when the first plane went in.

No you were not. You might have been a few minutes later but had there been a live feed showing the twin towers before the first plane hit then THAT would be a conspiracy.

That's an interesting theory about Brexit etc. It feels very much that the whole point of Brexit was to divide and conquer, and that's exactly what it's doing.

VoteJadot · 21/05/2019 07:58

He said it sounded like a loud construction accident

So he'd heard loads of jumbo jets hitting skyscrapers for purposes of comparison?

Bezalelle · 21/05/2019 08:02

I don't think anyone is denying that 9/11 took place. Of course it took place. Planes hit buildings. Buildings collapsed. The questions are about who was behind it.

Lweji · 21/05/2019 08:03

Do you follow the news at all? It's not a conspiracy theory. It's an actual security and political concern.

@bishop Could I please have an inbox too? I’m very intrigued Smile

TaliZorahVasNormandy not Henry, he was in France living as a refugee but take a look at his mother, Margaret Beaufort Countess of Richmond, their custodian for a time. I'm not saying she killed them but she certainly knew they weren't coming back because she was making a deal with their mother (Elizabeth Woodville, widow of Edward VI) that should they get the chance then her son Henry (red rose of the Lancastrians) would marry her daughter (white rose of York) thus ending with that union the war of the roses. This promise was carried out after the battle of Bosworth uniting the two houses and giving us the potent symbol of the Tudor rose. The rose both red and white.

Transgender Agenda.

Celebrities adopting kids, then grooming them into Trans kids to normalise in public eye. Charlize Theron I’m looking at you.

Prinstress · 21/05/2019 08:18

And poor Isaac Kappy, 100% not suicide. He was exposing some big big names.

What did they see?

millythepink · 21/05/2019 09:21

I do believe Jill Dando was a bit. She was forced to her knees and shot twice in the back of her head. I think a professional did it.

Grumpasaurus · 21/05/2019 09:22

Can someone fill me in on Dr David Kelley?

GlamGiraffe · 21/05/2019 09:30

I can't help thinking CT are some kind of Gestalt way of trying to see a full picture of a situation where we don't really know the full situation, or where the full story has been easily forthcoming and has drop fed. The desire to have a complete picture to satisfy the mind means we subconsciously fill in the gaps with stories that make sense and collectively look to do this. In situations where there are high profile and suspicious/ mysterious circumstances the details we turn to tend to be more out of the ordinary involving agencies like MI5 and the CIA as these are unkown to us and our understanding could be involved.there is a natural desire for the mind to seek out a full picture where there isn't one and I believe this is where CT's come in. As Gestalt suggests the whole is greater than the sum of the parts and it is this our minds seem in order to make sense of the chaotic world we live in, even if it does mean filling I the blanks with made up information.
Doesn't mean CTs aren't interesting though!
