Are there any conspiracy theories that you just think could have an element of truth?

I love all things conspiracy theory - from a psychological/social point of view it's interesting to see what makes people fearful or pessimistic.

But I often do see some conspiracy theories a bit like Urban legends in that they could be an exaggerated truth.

Are there any conspiracy theories or rumours that you just think 'maybe...' or even ones you're completely sold on.

I would love to know.
I reported my suspicians to a friend, retired inspector of police.
Don't think it went anywhere.
Not surprised really.

BishopBrennansArse · 20/05/2019 21:54

@endofthelinefinally what, mine? I'll do one last one if you want?

ArDali1 · 20/05/2019 21:54

Maybe exaggerating with the Internet but I do have family there. It's where my parents are from. I've been there. I know what's its like there.
Elecricity gets cut off there. They rely on generators when it does.
So yes the Internet is still quite new for people who live there, compared to here.

endofthelinefinally · 20/05/2019 21:58

Thanks bishop
I would be intrigued to know if we are on the same track.

ArDali1 · 20/05/2019 22:13

That was for handsoff

@MooPointCowsOpinion I think that's common knowledge nowadays unfortunately.

It's interesting reading.

Either the government is out to get us, the government is lying to us or the government are arseholes.

I view all 3.

I'm a half full gal really.

The other thing about cancer is that people simply find it hard to believe that we haven't found a 'cure', because in this day and age we have defeated so many diseases and ailments with vaccinations and medicines, so why haven't we wiped out cancer?

But I think that shows a total lack of understanding of what 'cancer' actually is and what it means, and the sort of monumental challenge it actually is to break into it. Eventually, it seems that cancer treatments will be highly personalised to the individual so there will never be a 'cure' as such.

In the space of about 40 years cancer has gone from being pretty much a death sentence in many cases to being something that people are living with, for longer and longer.

ArDali1 · 20/05/2019 22:41

Yes I know they are in other countries.
I was there just last year.
Going again end of the year I hope.

sobby · 20/05/2019 22:44

I think Jill Dando and Mike Smith were killed both about to whistle blow.

My number one conspiracy theory is that the people who actually run the country and the world regularly seed discord and new scandals for us to get het up about (Brexit, anyone?) so we don't focus on what is really happening and are instead busy eagerly picking over the scraps they throw us like happy, docile farm animals.

I also think organised paedophile rings are more entrenched in our society than we could ever imagine, even now with so much being uncovered we are barely scratching at the surface, I think it reaches the highest levels and is utterly woven into the fabric of society in a way that is terrifying and impossible to grasp. I can't bear thinking about that, so mostly I don't.

I've felt for a long time that our gov knows stuff about the overall fate of humanity that they are absolutely keeping to themselves. Because telling people wouldn't help and would only lead to social unrest. I think the true scale of climate change and what is going to happen to us all in the next decade or two is one of those things, but perhaps not the only major thing they are hiding which would cause riots if we knew the truth.

From the thread I think Jill Dando was a hit, and also David Kelly and the man in the suitcase. Not sure about moon landings or Princess Di, I go back and forth on those. I think 9/11 was possibly an inside job or they knew and did nothing, not sure which.

Ricoetbello · 20/05/2019 22:53

Bush did 911
They're trying to de populate the earth
They use children's blood to stay young ( that's why they go missing)
Mind control, vaccines are poisonous/give to cancer.
Cloning celebs... blood sacrifices.
These things are always in songs, have to listen to the words

MoonstoneMagic · 20/05/2019 22:54

@Rhubarb
I totally agree with everything you say.

expat101 · 20/05/2019 22:56

I haven't read all the posts but I remembered this while having a shower. Not sure if it falls into the conspiracy theory category, but I don't believe Diana, PoW is buried at Althorp.

Reason being you (me) never see photos of the Princes paying their respects (either official or unofficial photographs) and those Boys cannot move without being noticed.

I would have thought their visits would have been documented by now, even if only in the cheap supermarket mags...

MoonstoneMagic · 20/05/2019 22:57

Also as the world situation supposedly gets worse the media get increasingly vile and aggressive. Whipping everyone into a frenzy of hatred and putting people against each other. Reality shows are like the new blood games in the arena. It’s disgusting.

MoonstoneMagic · 20/05/2019 22:58

Pitting not putting

small2018 · 20/05/2019 23:03

My friend thinks the theories about Michelle Obama being a man is true!!

Educator66 · 20/05/2019 23:06

The term 'Conpiracy Theorist' was coined by the American CIA, who, themselves are at the centre of many of these theories. On several occasions the CIA had been proven to have given out very misleading information.
I prefer the term Armchair detectives' if you are referring to various events, where the reporting and video's simply do not appear to be genuine. A whole army of these 'detectives' merely sift through the facts and point out where events could not possibly have occurred as they have been reported. Since there are so many of these people - a great amount of detail becomes obvious and gives rise to many questions. It is interesting to become involved and do your own research into these events.
There are others, unfortunately, who are classed under the same category - but who are complete nut cases. They make up their own stories, complete fantasies - and many people believe that is who these 'conspiracy theorists' are.
Many of the theories have proven to be true!

expat101 - well the island is on a private estate and I haven’t been to visit mum and dads grave for around 12 years - it trust me, they are there!

small2018 · 20/05/2019 23:07

@expat101 - the princes do go and visit their mum's grave, they went on her 20-year anniversary, it was in the papers.

Also Althorp is a private estate so we wouldn't see them or have pics of them visiting.

Educator66 · 20/05/2019 23:14

Not sure about some of your claims - but the Mind Control is genuine. They tried experimenting with mental patients in the 1950's, in various institutions across the world - injecting them with various chemicals or using electric shock treatment on the brain, in an attempt to discover if it was possible or not.

There is a true story about a nurse who was at one of these institutions because she suffered from depression. She was appalled at what she witnessed.

jessicawessica · 20/05/2019 23:21

I just remember seeing George Bush's face when he was informed about the Twin Tower attacks. He did not look surprised/ shocked/ scared.....almost like he was expecting it.

Educator66 · 20/05/2019 23:25

No - because if they had tried to discredit Dr. Kelly - he had numerous friend an allies who would have supported him. What was not published was the fact that one of his University colleagues and a close friend died in a traffic accident in Leeds where Dr. Kelly and he had studied, not long after Dr. Kelly's death.

JFK - There were more people involved. The trajectory of the bullet(s) compared to the visual angle of the people in the limousine - in the video, shows they could not have been directed as we were told. JFK was involved in a lot of conflict around that time.
Jury is still out on the moon landings.
