Are there any conspiracy theories that you just think could have an element of truth?

I love all things conspiracy theory - from a psychological/social point of view it's interesting to see what makes people fearful or pessimistic.

But I often do see some conspiracy theories a bit like Urban legends in that they could be an exaggerated truth.

Are there any conspiracy theories or rumours that you just think 'maybe...' or even ones you're completely sold on.

hopes nobody thinks the Queen is a metamorphic lizard alien

@millythepink I totally agree

millythepink · 20/05/2019 18:23

Oh, I assume mine will be deleted. I didn't realise she wasn't to be mentioned. Really sorry MNHQ.

DarlingNikita · 20/05/2019 18:24

Can I ask –is there any evidence to suggest the sedating thing?

origamiunicorn · 20/05/2019 18:24

@DarlingNikita So weird how we can openly speculate about Dr Kelly and Gareth Williams (considering where they worked) but mentions of Madeline McCann get zapped straight away. I guess they're more connected than I thought Confused

DistanceCall · 20/05/2019 18:25

Does Australia Exist?

There are people who say they've been there, but how do they know?

How do you know you're in Britain (assuming that's where you are)? How do you know you're not on Mars and everything around you is a huge studio set? How do you know you're not in the Matrix?

FFS.

slashlover · 20/05/2019 18:27

Area 51 holds alien technology and Roswell was an alien aircraft.

VoteJadot · 20/05/2019 18:27

Right. So what did MM's parents do with the body then? stands by for incoming tide of nonsense

Cadaver dogs don't lie but nor are they 100% reliable. Nor can they tell you whose blood they've smelled.

Grenfell has been debunked on this very thread yet people are still claiming conspiracy. Forgive me if I don't place much faith in their critical thinking skills.

millythepink · 20/05/2019 18:27

@acis, haven't you read the book by the 2 ex MI6 agents who said that a forced car 'accident' was often the preferred method of assassination in the security services? It's a very interesting book, think it's called 'Death of a Princess'. The MI6 agent said when he first heard the reports of how she died his blood ran cold because he recognised the modus operandi.

DarlingNikita · 20/05/2019 18:28

origamiunicorn, is it anything to do with litigiousness? Threads about someone, is it Gina Ford, always get MNHQ in a tizz and I've got an idea from somewhere or other that it's because she's highly litigious. Maybe the McCs are the same?

edsheeranpaidmoretaxthanccola · 20/05/2019 18:28

@pudding21 oh interesting. Where did you get tested? Do you have PA?

AnyoneButAnton · 20/05/2019 18:29

Conspiracy theories about David Kelly and Gareth Williams do not normally involve accusing a named individual of murder. Hence there is very little room for anyone to sue for libel.

VoteJadot · 20/05/2019 18:29

Forced "car accidents" that could be foiled by wearing a seat belt? Hmm

millythepink · 20/05/2019 18:31

@jadot, of course they can't tell an individual's blood type, that's not what they're trained to do. They are trained to detect blood (any type of blood) and corpses. They might not be 100% accurate but they are exceptionally accurate, they have to be, else they wouldn't spend thousands of pounds training them.

RomanyQueen1 · 20/05/2019 18:31

My MM post was removed and I didn't request it either FWIW.
Guess we can't have a theory about that, but anything else goes Confused.

I think there could be something in the PM being dead theory.
The cover of SP where he was walking off to the graveyard, the fact he started looking down at his guitar as though he wasn't used to playing it left handed. of course ther is the ear theory too, how they changed.

DarlingNikita · 20/05/2019 18:33

Romany, at least yours doesn't wrongly say you requested deletion.

DistanceCall · 20/05/2019 18:34

Guess we can't have a theory about [MM], but anything else goes Confused.

Yeah, well, the fact that you are theorising about actual, living people who, if the theories are wrong (imagine!), have suffered the worst thing that can happen to anyone and are made to suffer even more atrociously by all the speculation in the media and in the public may have something to do with that...

WoollyMollyMonkey · 20/05/2019 18:36

AnyoneButAnton I saw a really good documentary a while ago about this too. It was showing, using computer modelling, where the shots came from, also taking into account eyewitnesses testimony and how they smelt gunpowder (so shots fired from ground level.) The fatal shot seems to have been from his security, in a car ahead of his, returning fire.

There was also one about Diana’s accident and it was very very interesting, proving (to me at least) it was an unfortunate series of events that led to it.

About the moon landing - the first man on the moon - isn’t there film of him going down the ladder and setting foot on the moon? Who filmed it then??

VoteJadot · 20/05/2019 18:37

of course they can't tell an individual's blood type, that's not what they're trained to do

So why are you using them as evidence to accuse the parents of such a heinous deed?

Southwestten · 20/05/2019 18:38

Sometimes stupid accidents just happen.
Especially when the driver is drunk.

MooPointCowsOpinion · 20/05/2019 18:39

Voice activation software (Alexa, Siri) and fingerprint software are all recording us and our identities all the time and feeding back everything about us to the government and big companies to hold all of our data to then target us with specific ads designed to manipulate us and predict our every move.

Is that even a theory anymore or have we all accepted it is happening.

DistanceCall · 20/05/2019 18:40

If Neil Armstrong was first on the Moon, who filmed him on the ladder?

www.sciencefocus.com/space/if-neil-armstrong-was-first-on-the-moon-who-filmed-him-on-the-ladder/

Rest assured, NASA didn’t call on Moon-dwellers to perform camera duties. They simply mounted a camera on the Descent Stage of the Lunar Module and pointed it at the steps.

That giant leap was relayed live to NASA and TV viewers all over the world via receiving stations on Earth.

Boysey45 · 20/05/2019 18:41

I think a very specific singer is as guilty as hell and it will all come out when he dies, just like it did with Jimmy Savile.

I also think the moon landings were staged in a hanger at area 51. Theres no way a rocket could pass through the belt of radiation for a start. Its just a total swizz.

Gareth Williams was murdered, a yoga expert tried to do the same bag up from inside and he couldn't do it.The flat had also been totally swept.

Tinyteatime · 20/05/2019 18:43

No that’s just what’s happening. I heard this author on the radio the other day and thought this book looked so interesting.

ChloePenny · 20/05/2019 18:44

Princess Diana was murdered

calpoppincalpol · 20/05/2019 18:45

I won't go Into the whole thing about MM but I will say that people smugglers / child traffickers etc do not target the children of well off (and then at least) respected British Doctors on a family holiday. That's insane. Why draw attention to themselves??
Expecting this to be removed as the parents will sue anyone who questions something other than 'intruder theory'.
