Wow that's a different name for a Royal

OP posts:
Housewife2010 · 08/05/2019 19:38

It's dreadfully infra dig.

Agednotwine · 08/05/2019 19:40

You can't be common when you're a royal........ Sorry to break it to you.

Disfordarkchocolate · 08/05/2019 19:42

How can the Queens great-grandsons name be infra dig?

Agednotwine · 08/05/2019 19:42

What seems to be a 'common' theme here today though is that the commoners try very desperately not to choose a commoners name for their commoners.

He's a royal. He couldn't be common if he tried.

Parker231 · 08/05/2019 19:43

I like it - a normal name rather than traditional. Harrison is very popular in the States so perhaps that is why MM likes it.

Dowser · 08/05/2019 19:48

So not Philip John Charles then

Archie Harrison... sounds a bit like the fella next door

Davey Wilkinson 😂

Heratnumber7 · 08/05/2019 19:53

I suppose it's a tad better than Lena. But that's the best I can say about it.

ElektraLOL · 08/05/2019 19:55

Good on them for not choosing some ponce name. At least Harry isn't a pompous prig like William.

Littleduckeggblue · 08/05/2019 19:57

It's astounding the amount of grown women on here bashing a baby's name.
It's not your baby so don't worry about it.
If you haven't got anything nice to say then don't say anything at all

LegoPiecesEverywhere · 08/05/2019 20:00

Quite

EdtheBear · 08/05/2019 20:03

William and Harry used to use Wales.
Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice use York.
Prince William's children use Cambridge.

Were Williams and Harry's full first titles not
Prince William/ Henry of Wales
Likewise
Princess Beatrice/Eugenie of York

Princess Anne and Mark Philip's never took a royal title as a couple. He was never Duke or Earl. Their children were simply Miss Zara Phillips and Mr Peter Phillips.
I think it was a very wise decision as they need to make their own way in the world doing ordinary jobs.

I think Harry is going to follow his Auntie rather than his Uncle. Much easier for his children to lead an ordinary life without the burdon of a Royal title.

Parker231 · 08/05/2019 20:07

From Sky news - It has also been revealed that contrary to original beliefs, Archie will not be given a royal title, with the parents opting simply for "Master".

Agednotwine · 08/05/2019 20:12

But when the Queen dies, he'll be a Prince again.

Parker231 · 08/05/2019 20:14

He won’t be a Prince if his parents decide for him not to have a title, same as Princess Anne’s children.

EdtheBear · 08/05/2019 20:19

Harry still is Prince Harry of Wales they never loose the titles they are given. But Duke of Sussex is a higher title.

Princess Royal is Princess Anne can go by either title but I think Royal is a higher title.

Prince Charles is still Prince of Wales but Duke of Cornwall. Obvious reasons why they opted not to give Camilla Princess of WalesBlush

Freudianslip1 · 08/05/2019 20:23

For some reason I can see him ripping around the local housing estate on a mini moto 😬 As a complete commoner l'm irrationally annoyed about the name, can't imagine the pearl clutching the Queen did. If Diana is looking down In sure she loves it.

LittleSprite · 08/05/2019 20:33

@Edthebear Camilla is the Princess of Wales

hazeyjane · 08/05/2019 20:34

Yeah, that Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, rough as fuck.

HairyToity · 08/05/2019 20:42

I like the name Archie. Harrison is not a name I would choose, however the baby has an American mum, and I think it's nice to reflect that with an American middle name.

I also think not giving Archie a Royal title gives him more opportunities to branch out on his own. Very sensible.

ajandjjmum · 08/05/2019 20:43

H & M didn't choose not to give Archie a title, he's not entitled to one. At this point, it would be the Queen's decision, and she's obviously decided against.

When Charles become King the situation will change, as Archie will be a grandchild of the Monarch.

Reasonstobeearful · 08/05/2019 20:46

Actually his real name is Archie Harrison Saxe-Coburg-Gotha.

MillicentMartha · 08/05/2019 20:49

You mean Archie Harrison Battenberg-Saxe-Coberg-Gotha. Wink

RedForShort · 08/05/2019 20:49

Harrison is a name. It is also a surname. As is Ryan, Kelly etc

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 08/05/2019 20:51

@EdthebearCamilla is the Princess of Wales

In that shes narried to the Prince of Wales yes

Her official title is the duchess of cornwell though.

The palace make this dustiction very clear its not like it used to be with Diana "the Prince and Princess of Wales" or even the boys and their wives "the duke and duchess of Cambridge/sussex" it is always the prince of Wales and the duchess of Cornwell. She does not have princess or wales in her title at all.

Although Duke and duchess are not higher titles than Prince
Charles's title is HRH Prince Charles, The Prince Of Wales, Duke of Cornwell
Camilla's is HRH Camilla, Duchess of Cornwell
William's is HRH Prince William of Wales, Duke of Cambridge
Catherine's is HRH Princess William, Catherine the Duchess of Cambridge
Harry's is HRH Prince Henry (Harry) Of Wales, Duke of Sussex
Meghans is Meghan, Duchess of Sussex
George and Louis are prince name of wales
Charlotte is princess charlotte or wales

RedForShort · 08/05/2019 20:51

Well that'll learn me not to skim read. Thought HairyToity wrote Harrison is not a name as I glanced through the last few replies!!!

Apologies. As you were.
