I’m on a thread chatting about Ghosts and HH obviously gets mentioned quite a bit and not wanting to derail that thread I thought I’d start one to talk about our favourite HH songs and skits.

I love so many of them it’s difficult to pick a favourite but I’ll start with Literally. So many heavy rock memes it’s fabulous...literally!😀

The kings and queens one - I can sing the whole run from William to Liz and have actually found myself doing it at work when monarch’s names come up (research job). I also like the WWII one that is clearly based on a Take That song.

Drogosnextwife · 08/05/2019 14:06

I love horrible histories, I watch it alone quite a lot because my kids hate it. Can't think of a particular favourite song though. Can you like your ghost stories thread OP? I love a good scary thread.

TeenTimesTwo · 08/05/2019 14:07

I think most of the songs are pretty good.
I like the Georges boy band one.

OnlineAlienator · 08/05/2019 14:08

Richard III

evilharpy · 08/05/2019 14:09

Kings and queens.

My husband's favourite is Pachacuti.

Supergrassyknoll · 08/05/2019 14:11

I'm so glad you've posted this!! I love watching HH (with or without my DS) it makes me lol every time 😂

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 08/05/2019 14:12

WW2 Spitfire pilots.
It's full of so much information, it's a great tune, it's funny without trivialising the subject and brings a tear to my eye at the end.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 08/05/2019 14:12

Dick Turpin

Tragicroundabout · 08/05/2019 14:13

Love HH! 'She got on the bus' and stupid deaths obviously.

RedSheep73 · 08/05/2019 14:14

Another vote for the Dick Turpin one!

Ihatesandwiches · 08/05/2019 14:15

The jingle for "Stupid Deaths". DD and I sing it when we aee people doing daft and dangerous things.

ScottChegg · 08/05/2019 14:15

Mine is also Pachacuti.

Wow!! I’m amazed you can remember all that. I’m seriously impressed.

I like the Smiths parody - Charles Dickens, and the Bowie, Charles Darwin oh, and Divorced Beheaded & Died oh, and the Kate Bush Mary 1 and probably all of them really.

Chopsypie · 08/05/2019 14:16

Minted is my favourite. We saw a bust of Marcus Crassus in a museum in Barcelona and both kids and I started to sing!

ElGuardiandenoche · 08/05/2019 14:18

The Take That World War Two song is a thing of beauty.

Agree the WWII one is probably the best song they have done, absolutely pitch perfect.

However we have a weak spot in our house for Pachacuti, because it's just so random, and I will always love the Four Georges.

Enb76 · 08/05/2019 14:18

And especially the Simon & Garfunkle Viking song

"We Vikings have an awful reputation with your nation,
But when we’d finished plundering and pillages…
Made nice villages."

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 08/05/2019 14:18

Born 2 Rule (over you) The four Georges, four, three, one and two.
The Few The RAF Pilots
Can’t choose between them.

ElGuardiandenoche · 08/05/2019 14:22

TeenTimesTwo is this the one you mean?

Arrrrgh so hard to choose! The Few is the best as a standalone song, but I really love Charles II: King of Bling and the Four Georges. And Dick Turpin, Highwayman (probably because I fancy Baynton so much). And She Got On The Bus. And Literally. IT'S TOO HARD.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 08/05/2019 14:24

Actually I love the Kate Bush (Bloody Mary) and Morrissey (Charles Dickens) parodies too.
They’re all brilliant.

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 08/05/2019 14:27

Dc1 who is 4 loves the WW2 pilot one and sings away to it. He's also slightly obsessed with Douglas Bader because of it.

We also like Nelson's Navy and the Kings and Queens one.

ElGuardiandenoche · 08/05/2019 14:28

OnlineAlienator that song taught me so much. I had no idea about half of it.
