I’m on a thread chatting about Ghosts and HH obviously gets mentioned quite a bit and not wanting to derail that thread I thought I’d start one to talk about our favourite HH songs and skits.

I love so many of them it’s difficult to pick a favourite but I’ll start with Literally. So many heavy rock memes it’s fabulous...literally!😀

Omg all of them. I love them. So clever.

Luddites
Dick Turpin
Blackbeard
Aztec Priests
We sell any monk
The Incan family players ad (guaranteed to revive ya, cheers make mine a pint of saliva)
RAF pilots
Mary Seacole

Literally all of them.

And yes I find the final “we’re history” song makes me teary too Blush

Lostmychristmasspirit · 08/05/2019 20:53

Oh wow I love all of them.

Tom Jones Owain Glyndwr is great!

lazylinguist · 08/05/2019 20:56

RAF pilots and Darwin. Also love the Borgia family one. There are a few on this thread I've never seen - off to look them up now!

shushymcshush · 08/05/2019 21:04

The RAF Fliers one.

"We beat the Fuhrer, without us frequent fliers your life would be poorer". Classic line.

Oh and the Cleopatra one "finest linen robes top prices!"

mogtheexcellent · 08/05/2019 21:08

The george III song based on Blurs Parklife is probably my favourite. 'I love clocks'

Although the first song I thought of was Literally. I also love the drippy sounding Viking song and Minted.

7Days · 08/05/2019 21:10

Or what about the philosophers now.
In the style of the Monkees - evolution side joke!
And when they get to Plato 'for everything that you see, there is a more perfect version to be found' the line ends with a little Beatlesque Oooo!
Love it all

StealthPolarBear · 08/05/2019 21:10

WILLIAM WALLACE SCOTTISH REBEL

StealthPolarBear · 08/05/2019 21:11

And 'I sat on a bus' I always sob a bit at the end

StealthPolarBear · 08/05/2019 21:15

Yes you're right they're all brilliant. We've just watched the hey hey were the thinkers one :)
What is literally based on?
Luddite luddite luddite is fantastic, the smashing up of the instruments fits so perfectly

StealthPolarBear · 08/05/2019 21:16

And we saw aztec priests 'staying alive' yesterday :)

hippermiddleton · 08/05/2019 21:18

Yes, Owen Glyndwr is brilliant - Jim Howick's Tom Jones impression is uncanny!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 08/05/2019 21:19

Right I've given in and started watching from the very beginning on Netflix.

7Days · 08/05/2019 21:21

My name is Shakespeare Will I am
I own this feather quill I am
The writer most familiar to you....
Why the west country accent for that bit though, was that Billy Wizz's own accent?

Dandelion1993 · 08/05/2019 21:21

King of bling!

I've just rewatched the whole series on Netflix with my 5 year old and loved it. I loved it when it first came out.

waltersdog · 08/05/2019 21:22

Has anyone mentioned the child labour factory song ?

AC12vsOCG · 08/05/2019 21:29

We love the Great Fire of London song with Robert Webb in, love all of them though!

bookmum08 · 08/05/2019 21:34

"It's Vic and Al
And Al and Vic
We showed our kids love
With a stick"

"Magna Carter
Magna Farter"

It's impossible to choose a favourite. Possibly the RAF Take That one is my fave but I absolutely love them all.

Singleandproud · 08/05/2019 21:37

HH crew also did a series called Yonderland, its absolutely batshit but DD 9 loved it. It’s on Now tv and probably other places.

We saw the live Barmy Britain show at the weekend and whilst its not the proper actors it was very funny and educational in true HH style.

Pericombobulations · 08/05/2019 21:41

Already mentioned but love

Dick Turpin
Pachacuti
Boudicca
Cleopatra
And the whole UK Kings & Queens

pazwaz70 · 08/05/2019 21:47

Stupid death!

SometimesItRains · 08/05/2019 22:09

I forgot the Blackbeard one - DS used to love it when he was about 3, he’d sit there singing it gleefully emphasising ‘blood and guts and gore and a vicious rein of murdering and slaughter’ - good wholesome fun for a preschooler Confused

StealthPolarBear · 08/05/2019 22:10

Someone tell me what literally was based n on please!

SometimesItRains · 08/05/2019 22:10

Reign - oops

longwayoff · 08/05/2019 22:33

Essex Boudicca.

7Days · 08/05/2019 22:37

I always thought it wasn't a particular song StealthPolarBear more one of all those hair rock ballads from the 80's.
