Just watching This Morning and Max Beesley is on there. Oh my, did I used to fancy him but blimey AFAIC he has not aged well. He just looks like some boring middle aged NDN now.

Daniel Day Lewis. Gorgeous then, gorgeous now

Jeff Goldblum. Handsome then and now.

Katie Price. Was so attractive when she started out. Not now

Russell Crowe. He had something about him Now just a jowly middle aged man.

Emma Thompson. Had no work done and looks far better now than she used to

My DH. I think he's more handsome than he used to be, he's grown into his grey hair and wrinkles, whereas I just look like a grey haired old woman Grin

@Delatron - what work has NW had done?? My face is lining similar to hers and I'm going to get something done because I'm a massive hypocrite

findingmyfeet12 · 27/04/2019 19:20

I'm not sure if people are commenting on looking younger than ones age or simply being a good looking person?

Roussette · 27/04/2019 19:22

Yes June Whitfield was timeless, what a star she was. Loved her in Ab Fab, no one could've carried off that part but her.

'Yes, dear' to Edina continually Grin

Just wanted to keep things on track so we don't have to make many deletions but looks like we're back on track

No sure finding! I think if you've got the goods to start with, you're blessed but certain people just have something that is not just looks

Breakfastpizza
But my point is that every one of the people you have listed has had a bucket load of Botox into their foreheads
not one of them is ageing naturally

let alone the fact that women feel so pressured to dye their hair
the number of my friends in their 60's with grey haired husbands who cannot see the irony

Look up pictures of Toni Arthur .... old, grey, wrinkled, happy, intelligent, inspirational

Roussette · 27/04/2019 19:25

How did you know I'm drinking Gin Fliss? Are you watching me through my webcam?! Grin

Andrew Castle ret.tennis champion now LBC presenter - Smokin' hot

Jane Fonda - one amaaaazing figure, so what if she's had some facial assistance.

Jeremy Clarkson, Chris Evans - oh dear boys, not good, nul points

daisychain01 · 27/04/2019 19:35

Being sporty and athletic definitely helps.

Look at Sharron Davis (swimmer) and Kelly Holmes (Double Olympic gold medalist) - they both look amazing.

daisychain01 · 27/04/2019 19:37

Oh Roussette you're not back on that web-cramming malarkey again are you. I told you about that before, stop it now!

daisychain01 · 27/04/2019 19:38

Or even web-camming lol

JaneJeffer · 27/04/2019 19:39

Rousette it's Saturday night. No webcam needed Grin

Roussette · 27/04/2019 19:43

I am 54 and reasonably lean and fit
I have DEEP wrinkles between my eyebrows
I have crows feet about an inch long
I have significant wrinkles around my mouth
my lips are getting thinner
and my cheeks are heading south even when I grin

My mum died not long after she was 60. She had very few wrinkles or lines. She had incredible skin but was quite overweight. I think this helps in terms of anti aging. I have quite a chubby face but am not overweight and could probably pass for 10 years younger.

JaneJeffer · 27/04/2019 20:14

I agree about June Whitfield. She was very good looking but despite this was never given the leading lady part. Great actress.

ChopinIn10Minuets · 27/04/2019 20:26

I second Judi Dench, not because she necessarily looks younger, but because she's a great example of how to look good on the red carpet when you're 70+.

At the other end of the scale, maybe Davina McCall is ultra fit and healthy, but oh boy, that scrawny all arms and legs and sinews look is not attractive when you're over 50.

As an aside, maybe SJP would have looked better with a softer coloured charcoal or ash brown mascara and a hairstyle that framed her face instead of doing a Croydon facelift. She's not that bad looking.

Roussette · 27/04/2019 20:30

I always tell myself that being slightly overweight works. I've been a size 20 and I've been a size 8. I know about weight loss, I know about overweight.

I know that my face looks better when I'm not scrawny. (not necessarily a size 20 but just not too thin for my frame)

What do you think people would say about how you've aged OP? And how would it feel?. Sorry, Im not usually one to jump in on the negative side of threads but this one just contributes to the perpetual battle that was being discussed in the other thread about how other people's opinions on appearance can be really hard work as you age.

Roussette · 27/04/2019 20:39

Interesting.

The thing is... I'm pretty comfortable in myself. I've never had low esteem whether I be a size 20 or a size 8. I won't lie and will say I loved being a size 8, it's not my natural size but to go into any shop and buy anything and to look absolutely fabulous in it was such fun. while it lasted
But it was so draining to remain so thin and it affected my mental health TBH. So basically I'm a bit fat and happy and comfortable with myself.

My DH loves me however I look which helps. Even though no one else but my DH may think so, I feel like a sexy woman.

1wayoranother
Having on another thread been accused of being
mutton dressed as lamb
I'm very happy about getting older the alternative is much worse
but intend to do so in a modern way that involves a LOT of yoga and moisturiser
but no botox or fillers or hair dye

It would be nice if more women in the public eye would say #metoo and embrace their wrinkles
It would be nice if more men would ditch the dye and the toupees
It would be nice if the idols admitted that they work out and eat not much to stay healthy
as that might rub off on the rest of us

Roussette · 27/04/2019 21:04

I couldn't agree more TalkinPaece

Agree with the poster who said once you’re 50, you are going to have lines and wrinkles.

Of course Julia Roberts has had work done. She doesn’t look 51. She’s had very good subtle work and not overdone it.

I think Naomi Watts has had some laser work and a bit of Botox. She’s suddenly looking a bit more glowing and smooth but looks good with it. Looked older/ her age a few years ago.

SinkGirl · 27/04/2019 21:18

Jared Leto. It’s impossible for him to be the age he is. He’s just ridiculous. He must sleep in Tupperware.

Aged badly? Only really people who’ve had so much surgery that they’ve stopped looking human (cough Simon Cowell cough)

SinkGirl · 27/04/2019 21:19

This is why I love Frances McDormand. Turns up to awards in haute couture and no make up, ageing naturally and looking bloody wonderful IMO.

Delatron · 27/04/2019 21:21

I remember Nadine Baggot (Former Hello
Beauty Editor) said the only starts she’s ever interviewed who’d not had any work done were SJP and Twiggy.

They’ve all had something done.

SJP just doesn’t look great in those photos. I can see lines and wrinkles though so no botox.
