Is this Peak Jilly?

I have just made myself an omelette using wild garlic foraged from the woods on a walk with my labrador. I can confirm wild garlic is quite whiffy, not sure I’d go so far as to describe it as a ‘sexy reek’.

Have I reached Peak Jilly or is there anything else I could be doing this afternoon that would be Jillicious????

Not long till the first of May now! Wink

Once you've washed your fringe give it a cut with the scissors you used to cut the rind off the bacon.

MitziTheTabbyIsMyOverlord · 11/04/2019 16:54

And you need to put your slightly greasy hair up in a messy ponytail.

Hairq · 11/04/2019 16:56

This thread is reminding me of how unwashed all of JC’s characters always were. Was that how things were in the 70s/80s? I was a child on the 80s so don’t remember. Did people shower and wash their hair that much less then?

JoyousAsOtters · 11/04/2019 16:57

Ha ha re the magnolia tree - there was a frost here last night, plus I’d be bound to roll in pheasant or fox poo (her heroines must be from fiercer climes).
And it’s been a fair few years since I weighed under 8 stone too! Perhaps I’d best go on a diet of no bread or potatoes, but plenty of gin, just to get the weight orf.

If their houses are anything like mine Hairq I’ll bet the unwashedness springs from having a peanut sized ancient boiler to do the whole house. We’re ok for showers which were put in more recently but there’s zero chance of two people in a row having a bath.
Floris scented, obv.

Flora was basically Caitlin wasn’t she I think. Very similar characters right down to clumpy boots and laddered tights.

longwayoff · 11/04/2019 18:07

Hairq, that's not poor hygiene, it's poshness.

Holidayshopping · 11/04/2019 18:08

Not long till the first of May now!

I love that rhyme Grin

JoyousAsOtters · 11/04/2019 18:28

RockNRoll you might be right about Flora being Caitlin.
Quite a few of them were repeaters with a different name I think.

You'll need a quadruple vodka in there somewhere....

JoyousAsOtters · 11/04/2019 18:42

But oh joy I have just found this Jilly Glossary and am laughing my head off (naturally)

Joyous that's fab, made me yell my head off with laughter. Wink

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 11/04/2019 23:56

When you made the omlette did you throw the eggshells into a cardboard box in the kitchen a la Janey?

crazypsychedelictrifle · 12/04/2019 07:06

Did you rush upstairs and slap on some foundation then have a gin and orange?

SophoclesTheFox · 12/04/2019 07:35

haha, love your username OP - utterly ravishing Grin

JoyousAsOtters · 12/04/2019 09:40

Morning all!

What do you have planned today to get a bit more Jillyific in your life?

I'm worried I've already stuffed up by having a shower so possibly being too clean. I am though, about to walk JoyousDog through the bluebell woods so anything could happen.

JoyousAsOtters · 12/04/2019 09:42

Thanks Sophocles I changed it specially Grin

If you're emerging from winter a bit pale, slap some Clinique base on your legs.

Pinkarsedfly · 12/04/2019 09:50

I’ve just heaved my 11 stone* bulk into the bathroom.

*and a half. And another half. And two more bloody halves.

Fazackerley · 12/04/2019 09:53

I've just thrown the hair from my hair brush out if the window but it's promptly blown back in again. And there's a labrador on my bed.

vampirethriller · 12/04/2019 09:58

I've just walked the dog through the local woods, no wild garlic but a strong smell of burnt wheelie bin, which isn't at all sexy.
My fringe needs washing but I'm not up for that today so it's under a head band. Glasses on, I'm making quiche. I'm definitely a Kitty. Which is a shame because I wanted to be Fen.

JoyousAsOtters · 12/04/2019 10:04

Beds are the domain of cats around here, JoyousDog is grudgingly allowed on any sofas they might not be using.

No Clinique in the house at the moment but the chances of my legs seeing the light of day are a lot slimmer than they are!

I can, however, easily pull on a pair of ancient jeans and a jumper (must wear a bra, sorry Jilly) to cover my spare tyre-s-

Excitingly I've just remembered a mystery single mother has moved into the little cottage next door! Will it be Daisy??

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/04/2019 10:20

No not Clinique , they all slapped "Man-Tan" on.

Then you see the pale , haunted face of your mystery single mother neighbour , with her huge sensual drooping mouth and she'll remind you of Garbo , you'll wish you hadn't eaten that potato salad out of a tin Grin
