Just that really, what one unsolved crime/mystery/news story do toy wish would be solved?

For me, its Madeleine McCann. It may well just be because of the age I am, its one of the first ones I remember really clearly as it happened.

What about you?

MH 370.

The families of the deceased obviously deserve to know the full circumstances of how their loved ones died, and the aviation industry needs a full understanding of what happened in order to prevent similar incidents in future.

I will add Eloise Worledge, taken from her bedroom in 1976 and never found
And baby Rahma. Taken from the bedroom she shared with siblings but no trace ever found.

There is a case where 2 girls aged about 13 in America got killed while on a walk, one of the girls filmed a man walking behind them on a disused railway bridge, I can't remember the names so I'll have to do some searching, but this one really sticks in my mind. Was a couple of years ago I think.

MissCharleyP · 08/04/2019 12:08

Missy Bevers - The CCTV footage of her killer in the building beforehand is chilling.

Janet Brown - just baffling and bizarre. Found handcuffed in her home, initially treated as a burglary gone wrong, until a burglar phoned into Crimewatch and said it was the worst staged burglary he’d ever seen. I think they found the same DNA at a jewellers a few years later but nothing since then.

Penny Bell - another very strange case. An extremely brutal, vicious murder in broad daylight and no witnesses at all.

Alastair Wilson - as pp mentioned.

Ames Glover - hardly any info on this save a wiki article and a couple on Reddit.

@IntoValalla

Cannot believe it is 50 years and spooky for it to be on the radio today as I thought of her.

There is a really interesting Canadian podcast series called Someone Knows Something. Hopefully it's not a spoiler (if anyone wants to listen) to say that the cases remain unsolved, which is why they are featuring in a podcast, hoping someone will know something.

The first season is all about a little boy called Adrien McNaughton who went missing on a fishing trip with his dad. I listened to the whole thing so desperately hoping for a resolution but it hasn't quite come yet.

Every single person who is missing has left someone behind, so sad.

What happened to my cousin who went missing in 1980 ☹️g.co/kgs/v55J9W

MockerstheFeManist · 08/04/2019 13:28

Deepcut, a high-level cover-up.

Terry Lloyd, ITN journalist probably murdered by the US military.

The GCHQ agent found zipped inside a holdall, we're not being told lots about that.

MrsWidgerysLodger · 08/04/2019 13:32

Ben Needham. There's been so many theories that ended up.not giving answers.
Madeline McCann. Mainly to get her parents off the front pages and raking in the money left right and centre when it should be funding other missing children
Jack the Ripper. Purely because the case is so old and I'd love to know if any of the theorists were correct.

RhymingRabbit · 08/04/2019 14:05

I'd like to know exactly what happened to David Kelly. From the beginning of his involvement with Gilligan to his death.

Having read this thread, I'd also like to know what happened to Andrew Gosden.

Deepcut has bothered me for years Sad I’ve served in the army, and honestly I can see how a cover up would’ve possible - even among the lower echelons of the hierarchy. The whole situation is eerie Sad

ShirleyPhallus · 08/04/2019 14:24

This thread gives me the creeps a bit, so many people I’d never heard of Flowers

Claudia Lawrence for me.

There have been a few cases which I’m glad have been solved. Joanna Yeates is one, and the British girl studying in America who disappeared a year or two ago, who was found also.

The young British man and woman who were killed in Ko Tao - wonder what happened there

AlpacaPicnicc · 08/04/2019 14:31

Trevaline evans

Raylene helsley

Coniferhedge · 08/04/2019 14:42

Suzy Lamplugh. I remember I was 15 at the time she went missing. I was seriously considering pursuing a career as an estate agent when I left school. The whole Suzy Lamplugh thing put me off completely. Scared the living daylights out of me.

Also Andrew Gosden and Claudia Lawrence as both cases are local to me.

What really happened in the case involving the West Memphis 3

My theory: Terry Hobbs got mad when his step-son didn’t listen to him when he yelled at him to get home (a conversation witnessed by a neighbour). Terry followed the boys into the woods in a rage, planning on taking his stepson home. He got angry, hit him a bit too hard and killed him. The other 2 boys witnessed it, so he had to kill them too. He undressed them, used their shoelaces to hog-tie them and submerged them in the water, making it look like the work of a maniac serial-killer Sad And has got away with it for 27 years, while 3 innocent men spent over half their lives in prison for a crime they didn’t commit.

This case irks me beyond belief.
I’ve followed Damian’s journey for as long as I can remember - he’s an incredible human being Smile I still contribute financially to his Patreon because his work nowadays fascinates me!

WillGymForPizza · 08/04/2019 15:33

Claudia Lawrence has bugged me for years. DM and I went on a weekend break to York not long after she vanished and her missing posters were everywhere. It was so eerie. I think having a loved one just vanish without trace must be unbearable. You can't grieve or move on. There can be no real closure.

Andrew Gosden is another. I think that unlike a lot of missing people, there is a real possibility that he's alive. But maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part?

Marylou2 · 08/04/2019 15:42

The location of Helen McCourts body so her poor Mum and family can lay her to rest. Her Evil killer should never be allowed out of jail. Local to me so of great importance in my area.
Also on a less tragic note I’d love to know what happened to the Amber Room. It was dismantled and disappeared during WW2. Would be amazing if it was found .

emwithme · 08/04/2019 17:01

Nicola Payne, definitely. John and Marilyn, her parents, ran the little care home where my gran spent 10 years in her 80s/90s. Marilyn, particularly, was so kind and loving to my Gran, it was just like she was her own mother. I truly hope they find peace (And agree that the Police just don't have enough evidence to prove who they think did it)
