Just that really, what one unsolved crime/mystery/news story do toy wish would be solved?

For me, its Madeleine McCann. It may well just be because of the age I am, its one of the first ones I remember really clearly as it happened.

What about you?

Tupac , justboodding MM because to be honest it's dragging on a bit and there's lots of other missing children that could of had this amount of effort in also

butterflykiss00 · 08/04/2019 06:36

Just kidding I meant 😂

youarenotkiddingme · 08/04/2019 06:39

MM such a confusing case with so many different versions of events due to media involvement.

Jill Dando.

Jon Benet. Although I'd now like to search for the Netflix documentary.

EastMidsGPs · 08/04/2019 07:20

The disappearance of 13 year old April Fabb in 1969 whilst cycling between two North Norfolk villages. This happened very very close to where I grew up and it seemed inconceivable that it could happen locally.
Sadly both her parents have now died never knowing what happened to April.

HunnyCaramel · 08/04/2019 07:24

@nomoreshitshow they found remains matching earhart and belongings on an island likely to have been on her path - i believe the remains were found years ago but assumed to belong to men, even though they were wearing womens shoes and was only 5ft tall or something Hmm

icelollycraving · 08/04/2019 07:29

The bedsit murders in Tunbridge Wells.

YAmILikeDis · 08/04/2019 07:39

Keith Bennet. That one really hurts my heart.

Ben Needham.

MM.

Jill Dando - had to be a professional hit and possible cover up due to lack of witnesses and forensics. It’s the only thing I can think of. Not that I’m an expert like.

Elisa Lam is terrifying.

Jon Benet - incompetent policing fucked that one up, from what I’ve read. What’s the Netflix docu called?

Billie Jo Jenkins too. That’s the first one I remember really clearly as a teenager.

MeetMeInMontauk · 08/04/2019 09:03

I don't think it's too well known (at least outside of the U.S.) and happened back in the early nineties, but I wish that justice could be served for the Angie Housman case. I watch a fair few unsolved murder-type documentaries on YouTube call it morbid curiosity and am probably a bit hardened to the horrific details in these cases. This one, however, was/is heartbreaking in its ruthlessness and callousness, and all the more sad as she was found only hours after she might have been saved.

If there is a God, I hope that they go to town on whoever was responsible for this, once their time is up.

KnifeAngel · 08/04/2019 09:13

@AndNoneForGretchenWieners Yes I do think the police know who it was. Nicola went missing not far from me. My husband knew one of the people arrested. They seem to have information regarding CA as they searched there for months.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 08/04/2019 09:18

knifeangel it's just so sad for her family, particularly her son. I remember it well because she was my friend's second cousin, and lived just behind where we did Sad . I went mad when I found out DS regularly used the black pad to walk to school.

KnifeAngel · 08/04/2019 09:21

@AndNoneForGretchenWieners I went to CW so regularly walked through there. The poor family just need answers.

ExileinGuyville · 08/04/2019 09:22

Renee MacRae and her son Andrew - went missing in 1976 and neither ever seen again. Will probably only be solved if there's a deathbed confession, very sad.

Blueowls · 08/04/2019 09:26

Princess Diana

Corna · 08/04/2019 09:36

Kate Bushell in Exeter around 1997 I think. She was walking a neighbour's dog and her dad found her after she didn't return. I was in the area later that night and saw the helicopter and police cars everywhere. The police knew that the same man later killed Lyn Bryant in Cornwall due to the method he used.
She was so close to home and to safety. I hate the thought that people like that are still out there.

BarbaraofSevillle · 08/04/2019 09:38

Just read about [[https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-47786398 April Fabb, a 13 YO girl who vanished without trace, 50 years ago today.

Chilling.

The Scottish island lighthouse keepers were almost certainly washed into the sea by a freak wave.

YouBumder · 08/04/2019 09:54

Genette Tate - disappeared in 1978.

I think they’re pretty sure she was murdered by Robert Black are they not

Palominoo · 08/04/2019 10:00

Yes, records show that Robert Black was in the area the very day that Genette went missing. He was a van driver.

BarbaraofSevillle · 08/04/2019 10:01

I agree Bum. On reading that BBC article about April Fabb, RB is also a suspect in that case, but they don't have any evidence to prove it.

Certainly a very similar MO to the crimes he was convicted of, including a young girl who was a similar age to me, from a town not far from where I lived as a child.

Tonsilss · 08/04/2019 10:34

There was a strict lighthouse keeper rule that 1 keeper had to stay inside at all times. But all 3 disappeared.
And there were weird notes in the lighthouse log which made no sense.

dustybluebell · 08/04/2019 10:42

Whatever happened to baby Ames? I still. Google from time to time to see if there's been any update.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 08/04/2019 11:06

When I was a child there were two girls who used to come and stay with their gran from time to time. The gran went to my mum's church. Sometime their parents came too, other times I think they were alone. Looking back on it now I'm pretty sure their parents were either alcoholics or drug addicts.

When I was about ten there was a story about something happening in the local forest, and children being abused there. I then overheard my mother discussing with someone else that these girls had been the victims, but I was too young to ask questions (I think I tried but was rebuked). I'm pretty sure the girls went in to care, and I never saw them again.

I'd love to know that they are ok. I've tried looking for information about the story online, but have never found any. I'm aware I might have made the whole thing up / conflated a number of different things but I'm sure something happened. My mother wouldn't remember so I can't ask her.

ScrewyMcScrewup · 08/04/2019 11:32

If I had to pick just one it would be deciphering the Voynich manuscript.

But I'd also like to see solutions to...

JonBenet Ramsey

The Somerton Man (think we are close to a solve)

The Isdal Woman

The Oak Island treasure

IntoValhalla · 08/04/2019 11:39

Corrie McKeague.
He is/was a colleague of my DH’s Sad I’ll never forget there was an event on the RAF Station a few weeks before he disappeared, and my DD (only toddling at the time) took a massive shine to his little puppy. She stood there for ages fussing over the dog, while Corrie fussed over her. Then just “poof” and he was gone into thin air a couple of weeks later.
His mum is one of the nicest, most genuine people I’ve ever met, and my heart absolutely breaks for her Sad

IntoValhalla · 08/04/2019 11:45

EastMidsGPs
April Fabb was mentioned on the radio this morning - 50 years to the day today that she went missing Sad
