Just that really, what one unsolved crime/mystery/news story do toy wish would be solved?

For me, its Madeleine McCann. It may well just be because of the age I am, its one of the first ones I remember really clearly as it happened.

What about you?

It was very odd that when the police arrived the officer walked around the house but when he got to the basement door with a latch on it he didn’t open it to look in or go in.

Why would he have not at least looked in?

NoCauseRebel · 21/04/2019 17:25

Chriky where do you all find the time to read up on all these cases?

For me I think the most strange is mh370. How did an aeroplane vanish from the sky like that? And was it intended to crash or intended to go somewhere? Either way a plane carrying that many people vanishes without a trace and is never found? Shock.

I think re Andrew Gosden that the most obvious explanation is the most likely and that he likely wanted to disappear. Very sad for his family obviously but we none of us knows what goes on inside someone’s head sometimes.

I listen to a lot of podcasts about cold cases.

VeryLittleOwl · 21/04/2019 21:20

Keith Burgess. I was 14 when it happened, Mum had taken me into Broadmead to find a dress for our annual Christmas Eve party and we got home to find our road closed off with police tape and had to prove to the police that we lived there.

Websleuths have some interesting threads on JonBenet

Personally I do not think the parents or the son/brother were responsible/involved in killing her.

This one:

So sad for the 'found' Bobby Dunbar's family. Wonder how many other similar cases happened before DNA?

dustarr73 · 22/04/2019 13:09

That Bobby Dunbar one is so sad.

stanski · 22/04/2019 21:18

MH370. I still don't believe no one knows where it is. They found Saddam Hussein in a hole in Iraq but they lost a plane full of passengers.... total cover up, would love to know what happened to it

TrumpsFerret · 22/04/2019 22:13

Area 51!

BagofTeeth · 22/04/2019 23:36

What actually happened to Natalie Wood.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 23/04/2019 06:45

Had a friend over last night and we started chatting about unsolved mysteries etc and she said "I'd like to know who really murdered OJs wife. It's like they stopped looking".
I said to her it was obviously OJ and she said it couldn't be as he was found innocent.
I'm still Shock

BringMeTea · 23/04/2019 07:24

Loki 😮 😄

Just read up on the story of the Beaumont children in Australia. 2 sisters and a brother who were taken by a stranger and never found. Horrifically, a serial killer who conducted "experiments" on people claimed to have taken them. This is a parent's absolute worst nightmare, and the parents have suffered for so long - now in their 90s apparently. This case made Australians realise that they could not assume that their children would always be ok.

Also came across Connie Converse. Very interesting.

I’ve lost hours on this thread, so many horrific and sad stories.

This is very interesting

WillGymForPizza · 24/04/2019 15:36

I've heard of Trevaline Evans. I live quite near to Llangollen and was told once years ago that the police have a fairly good idea what happened to her and who was responsible but can't prove it.

Make of that what you will.

notacooldad · 24/04/2019 15:49

There are 100s of podcasts about cold cases and true crime. Ive had to give myself a break from them as they are too upsetting.

We've heard the same rumour by the sound of things Handsoffmysweets.

FiremanKing · 24/04/2019 20:56

strangeco.blogspot.com/2018/11/where-is-trevaline.html?m=1I

A busy town. An ordinary woman. Such a bizarre disappearance. How scary that someone can disappear without a trace like that.

FiremanKing · 24/04/2019 20:59

Sorry just seen the above post about the rumours circulating her disappearance.

My first thought was a secret lover?
