I put it on because I thought it woukd be entertaining but actually, its pretty boring and flat. (Not talking about the causes sections)

Yes it did. Well it showed a baby in blue. Which in 1994 meant a Male baby.

Hepzibar · 15/03/2019 21:59

TwitterQueen agree. Was waiting for 4WAAF but Bodyguard intermingled with LOD was great. Lindsey Denton/Home Secretary in boot - genius.

But Richard Madden is sublime. Fact 😀

sleepingsloth
I am veryaware of how charities operate - I do the audits of their accounts
BUT
because I read an almost unhealthy level of charity published accounts, I'm aware of those where the balance has gone a bit sideways and are more about the collection than the distribution

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 15/03/2019 22:07

What happened in part 2?
Did Hugh Grant do cringey dad dancing?
Did Lily Collins break into Abba song?
Did Dame whatseface sneer about Americans?
Pray tell, I missed it.

Ratatouille76 · 15/03/2019 22:08

So was lily Collins meant to have been a boy?

SleepingSloth · 15/03/2019 22:15

*TalkinPaece

So are you trying to put people off donating to a charity which does so much good around the world? Strange that you also have an issue with who they work with.

That's very, very low.

Mediumsizeddancer · 15/03/2019 22:24

Who was Fiona married to, someone from the original film? In the montage at the end she’s with Prince Charles, I’m assuming she didn’t marry him Hmm

FatChloe · 15/03/2019 22:43

I love Clara!

Whisky2014 · 15/03/2019 22:57

I gave up and switched off ages ago. I dont think I've ever seen 4 weddings and a funeral.. should I?!

OP posts:
Hepzibar · 15/03/2019 23:04

Whisky yes you should, it's in my top 10, near the top

Partridgeamongstthepigeons · 15/03/2019 23:06

Good to see Alan and Sidekick Simon on there. Have turned off now.. studio stuff is very wooden and dull

hollyblue1 · 15/03/2019 23:15

Did anyone see what Alan partridge said about gender? Quite illuminating.

JennaRossetti · 15/03/2019 23:31

No.what?

Urgh2019 · 15/03/2019 23:36

I missed 4 weddings bit. I did see Beckham and mostly wondered if he even gives a single penny.

hollyblue1 · 15/03/2019 23:49

Something about being sick off the BBC walking on eggshells.

theemmadilemma · 15/03/2019 23:56

I'll probably get flamed for this, but min £10 text donation? You're pricing people out. No joke. There's probably loads of people who'd have done £1-5 but can't do £10.

In the same way I wish genuine charities who have permission to collect at my local supermarket could find a way to let me select £1 and touchless pay. I don't carry cash!

ForalltheSaints · 16/03/2019 07:12

Never watch telethons, though for good causes. A valid point about small donations, as all money raised helps.

whatthesmeg · 16/03/2019 09:05

I had to google to find out who the 2 presenters were ! He was awful and her plastic face seemed incapable of movement! Gave up after 10mins hopefully can find the 4weddings bit on catch up this morning!

Urgh2019 · 17/03/2019 20:26

I stupidly watched the highlights. Struggling to see where it was meant to be funny...

JuniorAsparagus · 17/03/2019 21:13

It wasn't funny at all, and they didn't make as much money as usual.

Clawdy · 17/03/2019 22:18

What's this about a baby in blue? Whose baby, and what's it supposed to mean? Totally confused!

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 17/03/2019 23:16

In the original film 4 weddings and a funeral clawdy at the end credits they did snapshots of the characters' futures/endings - so the guy who lost his partner met someone knew, thunderbolt guy got.married etc Hugh Grant and Andy McDowell did not get hitched but had a baby...the baby was wearing blue in the polaroid. So...blue for a boy according to everyday sexism/traditionalist thinking.
Cut to 20+ years later and the continuity is lost because their assumed son is now Lily Collins getting hitched to (holding-a-candle-for-Hugh's character) Fiona's daughter played by Alicia Vikander so that Richard Curtis can add politically correct gay wedding to the aforesaid 4 weddings, despite the pair being lesbians being the butt of the 'joke'with regard to the hapless vicar's ineptitude/lack of awareness. That is all. Smile

GoFiguire · 18/03/2019 06:39

Lily James. Not Lily Collins. HTH.

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 18/03/2019 07:01

Yes, the Abba lass. Got her name right on the night then forgot it again - I always get those two confused, James was Cinders, Collins was Snow White.
Both talented, pretty and annoyingly young Wink

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 18/03/2019 07:03

Oh and I spelt Andie MacDowell wrong too for any pedants out there
