Meghan's letter to her dad in The Sunday Fail

Shock really? Is this for real? She sent her dad a letter last August and he said she hasn't tried to contact her. He just gave the letter to the tabloids. If this is real he hasn't told the truth about anything.

Grab the popcorn.

I don't know him personally but it's none of his business who Harry got married to. The public also didn't like Kate at the beginning. Did everyone forget already? Doubt Harry was against William marrying Kate.

AstralTraveller · 10/02/2019 16:23

OhBloody I'm pretty sure Tinky Winky is a boy Teletubby isn't he?

Obloodyhell · 10/02/2019 16:28

None of us knows the truth.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 10/02/2019 16:28

I feel a bit like that letter was written with publication in mind.

ticking off a list of grievances and issues with cunning rebuttals- doesn't ring true to me as how one would write and actual real letter

About Thomas Markle. Or Teletubbies Grin

I feel a bit like that letter was written with publication in mind.

Given her father and sister’s habit of talking to the press it probably was.

Any conversation I have with my brother is carefully worded because I know it’ll be repeated with his emphasis and twist, I image any contact she has with her Dad is the same.

Aragog · 10/02/2019 16:43

The paper could have had the letter for ages, sitting on it til they seem the right time.

Another reason for a letter rather than email , especially a letter with specific type of writing - it can't be edited before being released. Extra words can't be added, turn of phrases changed slightly, etc. So the letter remains as written with far less chance of it being revised by the receiver before being released to the press.

Mayonayse · 10/02/2019 16:45

Poor Meghan! With her resources, that useless lump of a father is lucky he hasn’t been bumped off.

She needs to read the Stately Homes threads. He’s a total narc.

Mayonayse · 10/02/2019 16:45

And that bloody ghastly sister needs a thump.

Even if William did "warn" Harry, it doesn't mean that he tried to put him off marrying her - he could just have been saying "You'll have to watch out for her family - they are a poisonous nest of money-grubbing vipers and will do their best to embarrass you both. You'll have to stick together".

derxa · 10/02/2019 17:03

William was supposed to have been upset because Meghan had made Kate cry during a dress fitting for the wedding. Or it could have been a whole load of made up shite Grin

Surely the Daily Fail wouldn't make things up? The tabloids don't lie about these things . . . .

derxa · 10/02/2019 17:15

The tabloids don't lie about these things . . . . Grin They've got to fill their pages up with something. Meghan should just channel Lauren out of the Catherine Tate sketch. Am I boverred? I ain't bovvered.

SheStoopsToConker · 10/02/2019 17:16

@derxa I thought it sounded like a typical DM spin on a non-story - post-partum emotional Kate in tears at sight of Charlotte in bridesmaid dress became evil Meghan made Kate cry. It's astounding how many people are willing to believe the narrative the tabloids weave.

How I would love it if there was a sarcastic font!

stairway · 10/02/2019 18:27

She knew her dimwit Dad would publish the letter when he needed more money so really it is a letter to the press giving her side to the rift. He is right it is not an olvive branch and puts her in the best light.it has been very carefully written. Certainly she didn’t use the same handwriting on her bananas the other week.
I just hope that she has been using her own money to fund her father.

ImBattlingOn · 10/02/2019 18:42

It turns out the bananas didn’t even make it to the sex workers; they were used to make banana bread, which was then distributed instead. Wonder why?!

beanaseireann · 10/02/2019 18:44

Perhaps Kate became emotional ( cried ) because Charlotte looked so lovely.

What happens when Viscount/ Viscountess Rothermere (owners of the Daily Mail) bump
Into Harry and Meghan or William and Kate at some high society do Hmm

SheStoopsToConker · 10/02/2019 18:47

But the charity has apparently received unprecedented donations since the visit so at least that's something.

derxa · 10/02/2019 18:48

It turns out the bananas didn’t even make it to the sex workers; they were used to make banana bread, which was then distributed instead. Wonder why?! The banana thing was very odd. Would the Queen write on bananas?

FirstOfHerName · 10/02/2019 18:49

The Queen probably couldn't care less about sex workers.

derxa · 10/02/2019 18:51

The Queen probably couldn't care less about sex workers. Probably not but who knows.

I would like to think that Harry, a trained killer, would take them out! Grin
