really? Is this for real? She sent her dad a letter last August and he said she hasn't tried to contact her. He just gave the letter to the tabloids. If this is real he hasn't told the truth about anything.

What kind of a low life gives a national newspaper a private letter, especially one which is so full of emotion and upset.

I am in two minds about it.

On the one hand her dad has lied in saying she's not made contact.

On the other hand, he was sent that letter back in Aug and never released it until '5 friends' of Meghan mentioned it and this seems to have triggered him to release it in defence.

I don't doubt that he has less than wholesome intentions and has his eye on a cash cow ultimately, but there is suggestion in the media that Meghan was involved in permitting the friends to talk to the press. If so she has poked the already angry bear and also used the media whilst telling him not to.

To be honest it seems a whole mess and so public and constant.

We’ve seen it so many times on here though: a poster describing the awful things their parents have done and despite plenty of sensible replies telling them it’s ok to go NC there’s a vocal minority shouting them down with “they’re your PARENTS, you can’t go NC!” and telling them what an awful daughter they are for even contemplating it.

OK someone enlighten me here please. I'm not really up to speed with all this royal stuff so please tell me why she is so hated? She seems nice enough, clearly besotted with Harry etc. And her father and sister are a total car crash so why the hate?

I wonder why Meghan is rallying her friends to speak to the press now? Her father had been silent for a while and things seemed to be settling. The best approach would have been to have stayed silent and let that poisonous half sister set herself on fire.
Very ill advised not to have briefed the Palace first too.
It never ends well when any member of the RF uses the Press to speak for them.
It must be incredibly hard for her to cope with, but her only option is to cut her father dead and stay silent whatever. Dignity in silence and let actions speak louder than words. Her mother is the best example of that. At least she has one decent parent.

I expect Meghan deliberately didn’t take Harry to meet her dad, “early on” as she knew he’d behave like the narsasssit he is.

I think there's a fair chance he was always going to release this letter though but has chosen his moment carefully maybe. This way it looks like it's in response to something. Why does a person that feels attacked by BCDEF release a letter from A? It's not logical.

He was always going to release it for $$$$.

His saying telling Harry to 'Man up' is (in his view) not attacking Harry when it plainly is/was and also about faking a photo are all we need to know about this venal man.

That he listened to his other daughter Samantha and followed her instruction over getting the paps involved also illustrates what a grasping but ultimately weak person he is. Meghan is well rid.

certainly they probably knew he was about to publish the letter. The press would have approached the palace for comment, weeks ago.

The whole Meghan show is so tacky and grubby. Every day a new twist.

Who made this “letter to Daddy” public? Who brought it to the attention of the world via a magazine article?

It was Meghan, speaking through her “friends”. They talked about the letter and talked about the response it got...so she clearly, and undeniably, wanted that letter made public.

Which ought to make anyone wonder why she wrote it in the first place...in her prettiest handwriting, of course.

She expected him to leak it & when he didn’t she did it herself.

And if it all “proves” that he’s a liar, why did he release it at all?

I suspect that, like everything Meghan does, it’s manipulative bullshit - which is why he was so hurt by it.

I’ve seen the latest DF online- I really feel so sorry for MM, it’s bad enough that there’s a daily ‘story’ about her- including, berating her for touching her bump, whilst printing only pictures when her hand is resting there. Today though is on another level. I was a NC with my parents for many years, with really good reason- during that time my father used to tell a different story to others and bad mouthed me at every opportunity - I can’t imagine having to deal with it in such a public way. It’s humiliating for her and desperate attention-seeking actions from her ‘family’. The Daily Fail are disgraceful with this ongoing campaign against her and it’s shameful they’ve published the letter, imo.

Interesting that the DM have not published the whole letter. Of the content published, Thomas is saying that the letter is NOT conciliatory. Why would he expect it to be? She is saying she loves him but she wants him to cease and desist NOT that she wants a reconciliation. He only wants what he wants doesn't he? He doesn't think about Meghan and what she wants at all. He does sound like a total narc. The more he says the more obvious it is.

Such a shame she did not take Harry to visit her dad early on. I think if he had been included he might have behaved better.

TwitToWoo, the dad released the letter, not her. The DM story states it. I'm sure he was paid handsomely for handing it over. Can you seriousl blame her for wanting it made public - it shows him up as the liar he has been all along.

That handwriting is not elegant - it's weird. The flowing tops have been added - look closely, you couldn't form a letter like that! And some up stokes have them and some don't. The thing is we are saying 'how could he do this' but from the start it's been obvious it was a car crash waiting to happen - the Americans (generalising here obvs) just don't 'get it'about our royals.

That's just how she writes. Apparently she used to earn money on the side as a calligrapher. Everyone I know who's done calligraphy has had very elaborate handwriting with all sorts of swirls and flourishes added to letters.

@BookwormMe2 I think the point is that it was only when Meghans"friends" did a story in people and mentioned the letter did it become a thing.

So: Meghan gets her "friends" to speak to the people and mention the letter - press dying to find out more and her dad shows them it. So if she'd not tried to manipulate the narrative it might not have been made public.

He's a total asshole though.

Anyway, I feel really sorry for her. Her dad is clearly a complete shit bag.

Megan’s handwriting indicates a person with real creative flair, a streak of perfectionism, but most importantly the loops over the letters indicate self protection.

Poor Meghan - I feel dreadful for her, toxic relatives are bad enough. But to be played out in front of the public eye is horrible.
