Have you ever gone off a celebrity because of something they've done?

I used to really like Ewan McGregor until he had an affair.

Same with Robson Green in the 90s.

I loved Michael Moriarty (still do) but he's become a huge loony and an old soak.

Liked Ant McPartlin before the drink driving and infidelity.

Have you ever liked a celeb and then gone off them because of something they've said or done? Does it just prove that celebs are human like the rest of us?

Hiddleston’s excuse for the I heart TS top was that he needed to cover up for some reason and one of the other women there happened to have the top and he just put it on on the spur of the moment for a laugh. It sounds quite plausible tbh.

R Kelly- I loved the song remix to ignition and it reminds me of my wedding. I couldn't believe it when my friend told me about his wedding to Aliyah when she was 15 and that he enjoys 'water sports'.

This is the reason I only crushed on fictional characters as a teenager - they never let you down.

Until you grow up and realise Mr Rochester was an abusive, gas-lighter, and Pennington was really not a good choice as father of your child - particularly when you're only 17.

Michel Roux Junior. I thought he was a twinkly eyed charming man, until I read about his restaurant keeping 100% of tips instead of passing it on to staff.

mytieisascarf · 18/11/2018 20:23

How did he justify keeping the tips? Just awful!

PodgeBod · 18/11/2018 20:28

I adored Helena Bonham Carter until she worked with Roman Polanski.

Also went off of Lady Gaga when she released a song with R Kelly. Really went against who I thought she was.

ForalltheSaints · 18/11/2018 20:30

I used to listen to Lost Prophets.
I went to see Kevin Spacey at the Old Vic twice.

I wish I could erase both from my memory.

AJPTaylor · 18/11/2018 20:31

I am of an age when Morrissey was cool and quirky.
He grew up to be a weird wanker.
I just grew up!

I remember reading that, protecting a graze from the sun I think. I'm not convinced though. Most of the women at the party were size 0 proportions. I think he did wear it as a joke as it was Independence Day and he is British, but hadn't foreseen that he would become the laughing stock he did. Still my all time favourite Celebrity coupling.

Flat earther - someone who believes the earth is flat.

Here's the link to his twitter feed. It's widely reported in the media too!

Ginger1982 · 18/11/2018 20:34

Kevin Spacey - definitely!

Oh no. What's mark wahlberg done?

LaDaronne · 18/11/2018 20:38

David Tennant for getting together with someone half his age. What a naff cliché.

PrincessScarlett · 18/11/2018 20:39

Kevin Spacey, gutted to hear he is not a nice bloke.
Johnny Depp, he's very creepy now. And I'll never forgive him for ruining Willy Wonka.
R Kelly, grew up loving his music and have since read some very unsavoury stuff about him and lots of young girls and how the music industry has just turned a blind eye.

OhioOhioOhio · 18/11/2018 20:40

Yeah, Ant. His bad behaviour reminds me so much of my stbxh's that it really upsets me.

Do Dec and him have such enormous egos that they can't take a back seat and let someone else have a turn being Saturday night stars on tele?

TheSquashyHatOfMrGnosspelius · 18/11/2018 20:40

Billy Connolly for the Ken Bigley thing. He died that day as far as I was concerned.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 18/11/2018 20:40

Peter Andre was my first teenage crush, I used to (creepily) cut his head out of all magazines and keep them in a tiny purse, I had posters, bedcovers and even a lampshade of his Mysterious Girl single cover and then he went and married the thoroughly unpleasant KP and the spell was instantly broken within seconds never to be recovered.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 18/11/2018 20:40

I'm still a die hard Depp fan though.

yesmelord · 18/11/2018 20:42

I used to LOVE Ant!!

I think he's a bit of a so and so now!!

I hope Lisa gets the dog!

In June 1986, Wahlberg and three friends chased after three African-American children while yelling "Kill the nigger, kill the nigger" and throwing rocks at them.[13] The next day, Wahlberg and others followed a group of schoolchildren taking a field trip on a beach, yelled racial epithets at them, threw rocks at them and "summoned other white males who joined" in the harassment.[13] In August 1986, civil action was filed against Wahlberg for violating the civil rights of his victims, and the case was later settled the next month.[14][15][16]

In April 1988, Wahlberg approached a middle-aged Vietnamese man named Thanh Lam on the street and, using a large wooden stick, bashed him over the head until he was knocked unconscious while calling him a "Vietnam fucking shit". That same day, Wahlberg also attacked a second Vietnamese man named Hoa "Johnny" Trinh, punching him in the eye without provocation. According to court documents regarding these crimes, when Wahlberg was arrested later that night and returned to the scene of the first assault, he stated to police officers: "You don't have to let him identify me, I'll tell you now that's the mother-fucker whose head I split open."[17] Investigators also noted that Wahlberg "made numerous unsolicited racial statements about 'gooks' and 'slant-eyed gooks'".[18][19]

For these crimes, Wahlberg was charged with attempted murder, pleaded guilty to assault, and was sentenced to two years in Suffolk County Deer Island House of Correction. He ultimately served 45 days of his sentence,[18][20] but carries a permanent felony record. Wahlberg believed he had left Trinh permanently blind in one eye.[16][18][19] In August 1992, then 21-year-old Wahlberg fractured the jaw of a neighbor in an unprovoked attack.[21] Court documents state that in 1992, Wahlberg "without provocation or cause, viciously and repeatedly kicked" a man named Robert D. Crehan in the face and jaw while another man named Derek McCall held Crehan down on the ground.[22]

Commenting in 2006 on his past crimes, Wahlberg said the right thing to do would be to meet with Trinh and make amends, and admitted he had not done so.[20] In 2016, while in the process of requesting a pardon for his conviction of assault on Trinh, Wahlberg said he had met with Trinh and apologized "for those horrific acts."

Johnny Depp - don’t want to see Fantastic Beasts anymore.
Eddie Izzard
Emma Watson
Morrissey
Anyone who worked with Polanski

NotUmbongoUnchained · 18/11/2018 20:44

That’s the quote from his wiki page

Patroclus · 18/11/2018 20:48

I bet James Martin tried to scare those cyclists in Yorkshire. Hes from Yorkshire. Yorkshire.

OhioOhioOhio · 18/11/2018 20:49

Omg. Those allegations have really shocked me.
