Have you ever gone off a celebrity because of something they've done?

I used to really like Ewan McGregor until he had an affair.

Same with Robson Green in the 90s.

I loved Michael Moriarty (still do) but he's become a huge loony and an old soak.

Liked Ant McPartlin before the drink driving and infidelity.

Have you ever liked a celeb and then gone off them because of something they've said or done? Does it just prove that celebs are human like the rest of us?

Yes re Jay Rayner. Had exactly the same discovery myself & now think he's great.

longwayoff · 19/11/2018 09:33

Threewheeler, yea for Jay. But not for William Sitwell who irritates me a lot.

MawkishTwaddle · 19/11/2018 09:33

MrsJayy yes I saw that. If I was his dd I'd never speak to him again. What an abusive, exploitative prick.

Frankie Boyle for being a disablist bastard. I can't believe he still has a platform. Cunt.

never got why he is still on the BBC
and Glen Hoddle vile disablist wanker. yet feted by footie people.

longwayoff · 19/11/2018 09:50

Dont want to be an apologist for Hoddle but he is pretty thick evidenced by being able to believe such guff in the first place. Stupid man.

Amanda Holden for cheating on Les Dennis

Amanda Holden full stop... Was she ever remotely likeable? She's talentless & grim!

derxa · 19/11/2018 10:22

Emma T did turn up to Buckingham Palace wearing an equal pay pin on her suit jacket when she collected her Damehood. I am still pissed off that she felt it appropriate to wear trainers to such an occasion and paid lip service to equal pay at the same time. She's a hypocrite of the highest order. On the other hand I love the fact that she has given her adopted son so many opportunities.

To be fair there are people who’ve done a lot worse at the BBC and kept their jobs.

When Hoddle fell ill earlier in the month I did wonder what he’d done in a past life to deserve it. Cunt

Crimebustersofthesea · 19/11/2018 10:39

John Hamm. Thought he was lovely but all that stuff about his college days really turned me off him.

Cakemonger · 19/11/2018 10:46

Shocked at those blaming Depp's behaviour on Amber Heard. He is a grown man and responsible for his own actions.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 19/11/2018 11:04

McTufty - Rory McIlroy when he called off his wedding two days after sending the invitations out.

Absloutely this. And it was just before the French Open or Wimbledon - like the most important few weeks in her playing year. I still absolutely despise him even now and take disproportionate pleasure every time he loses. Totally irrational I know.

SummerGems · 19/11/2018 11:10

Also grew up LOVING Rolph Harris (like he was my gramps)....obviously not any more!!! my ILs used to live in the same town as him and they said he was a monumental arsehole even before the other stuff came out. Used to constantly complain about things, try to block planning permission etc, demand exorbitant amounts of money to e.g open events etc and was known in the town for being an objectionable arse.

People who have affairs etc don’t bother me in terms of celebrity status. They’re all human beings and I do think that we have a tendency to put certain people on a pedistal and for them to be above others when actually they’re not.

I'm sure I read on here somewhere that JD allegedly shot Kate Moss in the arm when they were dating with an antique pistol. Not sure if it was the same incident that saw him smash up his hotel room too.

longwayoff · 19/11/2018 11:29

Its not so much that zlebs have affairs summer, everyone's human, it's the way they treat their ex that really gets to me. Some people are just vile in order to justify their own behaviour. As a related irritant, which infuriated me, when Ant thingy's divorce was finalised the other day, the bbc announced it accompanied by a clip of just married Mr and Mrs Ant leaving the Registry Office, wreathed in smiles, at their wedding.Angry Honestly, how poor is that?

ginghamstarfish · 19/11/2018 11:31

@costacoffeecup that's what I remember, not sufficiently interested to look it up now, but I'm sure they were together at the time. Was it something to do with tax bills? In which case even worse, as us 'common people' have to pay tax and can't get away not paying by using expensive legal advice.

A580Hojas · 19/11/2018 11:41

Amanda Abbington and Martin Freeman were definitely still together when she filed for bankruptcy (2013). It was over a £120,000 tax bill.

DobbinsVeil · 19/11/2018 11:41

o.k. google says Amanda Abbington's unpaid tax bill was £120,000. High Court bankruptcy order march 2013, she said it had been resolved in 2014. Split with Freeman in 2016.

DobbinsVeil · 19/11/2018 11:44

and it seems Freeman did pay her debts, but she was adamant she would be paying him back (Guardian interview Aug 2015)

Wow, that's dreadful about Jon Hamm.

Loonoon · 19/11/2018 12:11

l used to love Leo Sayer. His songs reminded me of my teens and made me happy. However ever since he threw a hissy fit on CBB because he has to wash his own underpants, saying he shouldn't have to because he was famous I’ve gone right off him.

Also Lee Ryan for acting like a dick on CBB.

longwayoff · 19/11/2018 12:29

Bloody BBC squashy! Must have been work experience day.
