Have you ever gone off a celebrity because of something they've done?

I used to really like Ewan McGregor until he had an affair.

Same with Robson Green in the 90s.

I loved Michael Moriarty (still do) but he's become a huge loony and an old soak.

Liked Ant McPartlin before the drink driving and infidelity.

Have you ever liked a celeb and then gone off them because of something they've said or done? Does it just prove that celebs are human like the rest of us?

Yes, Chris Pratt and his ex-wife.

Appalling treatment of their dog.

Baking101 · 19/11/2018 08:14

Shocked about that with Owen Wilson.

I never liked rory mcilroy before the stuff with his partner just because of how he played golf. He became so arrogant that in one tournament he played nearly every shot without any practices. Seemed to believe he was superior and didn't need to practice. He fluffed up every shot, arrogant knob head. That's why you practice! Should know that, twat.

I hate Lewis Hamilton and that only increased after he said the stewards only 'picked on him' because he is black. No they told you off because you keot making mistakes and being dangerous on the track. Seems to think he's better than Schumacher and senna too. Them two would wipe the floor with him blindfolded at their peak.

I don't like James mcavoy, but I can't remember why! Just know that I don't like him.

MawkishTwaddle · 19/11/2018 08:16

Frankie Boyle for being a disablist bastard. I can't believe he still has a platform. Cunt.

GaraMedouar · 19/11/2018 08:17

Went off Anton du Beke when he called his partner Laila Roussas (who is of Arab and Pakistani heritage the racist P- word after she had her spray tan.

GaraMedouar · 19/11/2018 08:18

Oh and Ryan Giggs when he had an affair with his brothers wife.

LaDaronne · 19/11/2018 08:18

Hey I'm not making him out to be a secret kitten strangler or anything. Each to his own, sure. He's free to go out with younger women, and I'm free to go off him because of it.

RedDwarves · 19/11/2018 08:20

I am also still a die hard Depp fan, and wouldn't believe a word that comes out of Amber Heard's mouth, about Depp or otherwise.

treaclesoda · 19/11/2018 08:24

I actually don't really understand the Rory McIlroy hate. I have no doubt that it was devastating for his fiancée to have him call off their wedding but I'd imagine he didn't make the decision lightly. An awful lot of people get married because they feel swept along and that it's a runaway train that they can't get off. The reality of the invitations going out is a big shock if you're having doubts. Surely marrying the wrong person and either subjecting the person to a lifelong unhappy marriage, or ending it in a painful divorce a few years down the line is far more cruel than standing up and saying 'I've made a mistake' beforehand.

longwayoff · 19/11/2018 08:24

Dont know who Chris Pratt is but now hate him because of the dog.

StorminaBcup · 19/11/2018 08:28

My Chris Pratt crush has been well and truly quashed this morning Sad

TheSquashyHatOfMrGnosspelius · 19/11/2018 08:29

What's this about Paul Simon please?

ingenvillvetavardukoptdintroja · 19/11/2018 08:34

There's only 13 years between David Tennant and his wife!!
James McAvoy cheated on Anne Marie Duff.

Baking101 · 19/11/2018 08:37

ingenvillvetavardukoptdintroja that could be why I don't like him but i dont think so. I have a feeling he said something in an interview before xmen that pissed me off.

princesstiasmum · 19/11/2018 08:45

Tom Jones.what a bastard.his poor wife.all those women he bedded and he was acting upset when his wife died.then straight away was seeing Pricilla Presley

chickhonhoneybabe · 19/11/2018 08:49

Just thought of another one, Bill Cosby used to love him as a kid

ginghamstarfish · 19/11/2018 08:50

Agree with most of the above (the ones I know at least!). Re Martin Freeman, for those who asked, he and his smug wife/partner Amanda Abbington - I seem to remember a few years back she had debts and declared bankruptcy despite him being worth millions. So, okay for those owed money to lose out and possibly lose their businesses, as long as this pair could keep their mitts on MF's millions. I had admired him as an actor, but when I see him now I can't forget this ...

Clawdy · 19/11/2018 08:51

Elton John's "meltdown at the airport" was directed at the paparazzi who were rushing to photograph him, and they knocked to the ground an elderly man, and ignored him as they swarmed round Elton. That was the cause of him shouting at them, but of course it made a better story for the papers to only show him yelling.

longwayoff · 19/11/2018 08:59

I going to have nobody left to love at the end of this thread. How about in reverse? Some one you actively disliked or were indifferent about until something changed your mind. I'm citing Jay Rayner who, if I noticed him at all, I considered a conceited freeloading food critic ho hum. On discovering he was a 'real' journalist who decided, when he had his own children, that he couldn't face covering another child abuse court report and had been offered the food critic thing as an almost offhand thing, my respect for him increased immediately. He is an excellent food writer and I now love him. Hurrah for Jay.

dustarr73 · 19/11/2018 08:59

Rory McIlroy when he called off his wedding two days after sending the invitations out.

Better he do that than marry someone that he didnt love.

HeronLanyon · 19/11/2018 09:18

I quite admire Rory mci for doing that. It does mean there was something ‘wrong’ about communication or his ability to read his or her feelings etc and or ability to stop drifting into something but far better that than to go ahead. Feel for whoever the woman was obviously.

costacoffeecup · 19/11/2018 09:21

@ginghamstarfish I thought they'd split at that point and he wouldn't pay her debts - they weren't married so she wasn't entitled to anything. So not really her fault? I might be wrong though!

kenandbarbie · 19/11/2018 09:24

What did Hugh bonneville and Owen Wilson do?

MrsJayy · 19/11/2018 09:24

Phil Jupitus loved himtill I saw an episode of live at the apollo he made a revolting joke about his 16 yr old Dds boyfriend staying over it was disgusting, now I can't stand seeing his face.

Kazzyhoward · 19/11/2018 09:27

Yes - tax evasion - can't abide it when already overpaid personalities, sports stars, pop stars, etc., indulge in tax avoidance schemes or move abroad to gain tax exile status. When you have huge numbers of poorly paid people who've paid their fair share of tax having to fork out large amounts for tickets, music downloads, sky subscriptions, etc to pay for these superstars it's morally outragious that they think they're entitled to evade tax.

WrenNatsworthy · 19/11/2018 09:29

Yes, lots of them. Although ofc we don't 'know' them anyway.

Johnny Depp is the one that disappointed me the most though.
