The chore I most enjoy is sewing on nametapes and scout/guide/swimming badges.

feathermucker · 15/11/2018 23:07

Washing dishes and hanging up clean clothes

BillywigSting · 15/11/2018 23:07

The morning school run.

Specifically, having to be chirpy and pleasant and interact with the lollipop lady and make inane small talk while we wait for the lights to change, and similar with the teacher (not ds's) at the school gate.

I actually replied 'no, not really to be honest' when she so cheerily said 'good morning, you OK?' in the way that people do when they expect a 'yeah right thanks'.

She looked quite taken aback. I told her I am sick (true) and needed to go back to bed (also true).

Nb. I have no problem being perfectly pleasant with ds in the morning because I actually like him and care about what he has to say. I just can't stand small talk with people who are almost strangers.

Ironing, so I do as little of it as possible. Hardly any, in fact.

My mum insists on ironing bed linen, towels, socks etc etc then moans loudly about how much hard work it is. I think she actually enjoys being a martyr.....

GoodHeavensNoImAChicken · 15/11/2018 23:10

I hate going to the bank. I just hate them.

Also not a fan of changing duvet covers on double beds. Such a faff

bimbobaggins · 15/11/2018 23:10

Mine is fixing the seat and back cushions on the sofa, not decorative ones but the seat and back. Every time I get up they are half hanging off. I hate the sofa

Drogosnextwife · 15/11/2018 23:14

Dishes, the always get left until very last. Making packed lunches, I don't know why!

itsrainingmoneyiwish · 15/11/2018 23:17

Cooking. Loathe it, boring, time consuming and I never enjoy the end result (usually because I have to make meals to suit the boring palettes of children and I dislike bland food/similar meals everyday but more dislike making separate dishes!)

Ironing. So I quit that.

Changing the bedding is such a faff - 3 out of 4 beds are doubles (mines a superking) so it's just a lot of stretching, leaning, arguing with myself over allowing so many huge beds in my house and God forbid I accidentally put a mis matched set on the kids beds!

Sweeping. I have to sweep the kitchen/dining room floors everyday if I want them to look clean, DDog likes to trample in leaves and crap from the garden and just last night managed to get hold of one of DHs slippers and tore it to pieces. It's ridiculously difficult to sweep when DDog is trying to go for the brush every time it moves or manages to make more mess as I'm finishing up.

I have the kind of hair that has to be washed every day (unless I'm not going out of the house and I can slouch around looking like something the cat dragged in, safe in the knowledge that only OH will see me).

Once I've washed it, I have to blow-dry it because it's also not the sort of hair you can just leave to fall attractively into place. It drives me utterly crazy and I long to be that person who can wash their hair once or twice a week and know it looks just fine.

I hate my hair Sad

MeMeMeow85 · 15/11/2018 23:21

Dishwasher emptying is annoying. Also hanging up washing. I love mopping and tidying though 😊

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 15/11/2018 23:21

All of it. Except cooking.

Boobahs · 15/11/2018 23:22

Ironing.
Peeling potatoes.
Grating cheese.
Cleaning the toilets.

craftymum01 · 15/11/2018 23:29

Gosh how did I forget changing duvet covers? There is no worse feeling than going to bed only to realise you need to put the sheets back on.

Showering, ironing and putting fuel in the car.

MiniMum97 · 15/11/2018 23:36

@moomoogalicious 😊 I was going to say exactly that! Thought it was just me!
Also hate most routine jobs. Anything that has to be done everyday or regularly really. Very low boredom threshold. Also have poor executive functioning and found out the other day the two are related.

ChocolateTearDrops · 16/11/2018 00:50

Meal planning bores the arse off me. My mind goes blank and I would happily write "takeaway" for every day.

ChocolateTearDrops · 16/11/2018 00:50

All the other jobs I don't mind, as long as I have an audio book to listen to. Grin

Merename · 16/11/2018 00:53

Right now, breastfeeding. I want to go back to sleep Smile

Polkasq · 16/11/2018 00:59

Having a shower. I do it anyway of course, but it's so boring.

MadisonAvenue · 16/11/2018 01:04

Pegging out washing and then getting it off the line when dry. Actually, putting it in and taking it out of the washing machine and sorting it before pegging it out too. Don’t mind ironing it though.
Preparing vegetables.
Getting anything out of the freezer.
Drying my hair.
Meal planning and writing a shopping list.
Putting shopping away.

adoggymama · 16/11/2018 01:05

Brushing my teeth😂 has to be done!

Pieceofpurplesky · 16/11/2018 01:20

Putting washing away. Boring job

BusterGonad · 16/11/2018 01:20

I hate washing my hair, too thick! Luckily I only need to do it once a week! I could actually get away with longer as it doesn't really look dirty, just feels dirty!

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 16/11/2018 01:36

Pilcrow I feel your pain my hair is exactly the same, I have a colleague who comes to work with wet hair, it drys beautifully she literally does nothing to it and does not even own a hair dryer, she does not realise how lucky she is! I can’t believe the amount of time my hair takes every single bloody day, would not mind so much if I had Kate Middleton hair by the end of it, still looks pile of shite despite my efforts.
