I wish my hair could last longer between washes but It get's noticably greasy within a day, I struggle to go every other day

Every day. I can’t stand the way it feels otherwise.

NewGrandad · 24/10/2018 10:46

It's probably been about 6 months but then I'm a bloke in his 50s with not a lot of hair.

readysetcake · 24/10/2018 10:47

Mine is fragile so I try and go every other day. If I’m not going out on a weekend I try and push it longer. Still shower though!

Twice a week! It doesn’t get greasy

Stillwishihadabs · 24/10/2018 10:51

Twice a week here too. Wednesday and either Saturday or sunday

BearSoFair · 24/10/2018 10:51

Every other day, can sometimes get to day 3 if I'm lucky!

ExplodedPeach · 24/10/2018 10:51

Usually every 2-3 days, depending on if/how it's styled, as that affects how fast it goes greasy. Sometimes every day

BillywigSting · 24/10/2018 10:51

Every other day in the week, sometimes go Friday to Monday at the weekend but it's properly grim by Monday morning if I do that.

Can't stand dry shampoo either, just makes it feel even dirtier

letsdolunch321 · 24/10/2018 10:52

Another twice a week washer here

WesternMeadowlark · 24/10/2018 10:52

Depending on the time of year, every 5 days to a week.

Going silicone- and sulfate-free may help; before I did that I had to wash it every other day. From my reading on the subject, it sounds like the products I was using were only conditioning my hair by coating the outside of it, so that the grease would sit on top, rather than soaking in as it should.

It can be a bit of a pain to find lists of appropriate products in the UK. A quick search turned up this one; it may be out of date by now, but it should give a general idea of the kind of places to look: www.ohheythere.co.uk/2014/03/list-of-cg-friendly-products-found-in-uk.html

Jasquers · 24/10/2018 10:54

Every day.

Kintan · 24/10/2018 10:55

As little as possible! Once or twice a week. Preferably once.

MysteryNameChange · 24/10/2018 10:56

Try to go for every three days. Eek it out with dry shampoo.

MustStopSnacking28 · 24/10/2018 10:57

2-3 times a week and I hate dry shampoo as it gives me dandruff 🤮

AllViewsMyOwn · 24/10/2018 10:57

Every other day, can sometimes leave it 3. I have very coarse, wavy, probe to curling, thick hair though - if I straighten it and it goes smooth, it can barely make it to every other day!

AllViewsMyOwn · 24/10/2018 10:58

Prone*

AlphaJuno · 24/10/2018 11:00

Once a week. I've got dry hair that doesn't get greasy.

spiderlight · 24/10/2018 11:01

Every day. It feels absolutely horrible otherwise.

Oldraver · 24/10/2018 11:02

Everyday, otherwise it doesn't feel right. I also sweat a lot at work and during the night so couldn't leave it

BiscuitDrama · 24/10/2018 11:03

I used to be every other day, also find it’s more like every four days with an SLS free shampoo.

I like the Faith in Nature, Jason and Avalon in particular from here:

Nonotmenori · 24/10/2018 11:13

Once a week. Occasionally twice if I've got an appointment. I have very long hair.

A580Hojas · 24/10/2018 11:16

Every 3 days with a bit of help from dry shampoo. It's a rhetorical question though. Surely you must know that you have greasy hair but many other people don't?

Alexaaaa · 24/10/2018 11:18

Try just conditioning the ends and not the roots, it might make a difference if you don't do that already.

flamingox · 24/10/2018 11:23

Once a week. I have thick hair that's slightly dry so can get away with it x

Bubblysqueak · 24/10/2018 11:30

If you don't wash it every day, but do shower, do you get your hair wet when you wash or do you wear a shower cap?
I'm just trying to figure out how I could change to every other day washing.
