I wish my hair could last longer between washes but It get's noticably greasy within a day, I struggle to go every other day

Every 2 or three days. It's not so much greasy but depends if it's stuck up and can be flattened or it's too bad and needs washing.

@Bubblysqueak if I'm not going to wash my hair I usually wet it still which helps a bit

I'm going to stay experimenting.
I have recently changed to sls free shampoo and only use conditioner once a week and my hair feels great.

Every day. I’ve tried to go longer but it looks greasy.

littlepooch · 24/10/2018 11:41

Twice a week. I have very long thick dry hair which never seems to get greasy. Takes ages to wash and dry as well hence why twice a week. I could get away with once a week but I don't feel clean if I do that.

TokyoSushi · 24/10/2018 11:43

Every single day without fail!

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 24/10/2018 11:43

As little as possible! Once or twice a week. Preferably once.

^ This.

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 24/10/2018 11:44

Bubblysqueak I wear a shower cap. The wilko ones are good.

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 24/10/2018 11:44

I wash it every day Monday-Friday as I go swimming before work. Don't really wash it all at the weekend though it looks pretty shite come Monday morning.

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 24/10/2018 11:46

Every other day. On the second day I have to put it up though because it doesn't sit nicely after being slept on.

maerd · 24/10/2018 11:47

Once a week at the most. It doesn’t get greasy, but just starts getting a bit matted/untidy after a week or so. It only gets brushed on wash day. I normally wrap it in a tshirt when I want to shower without getting it wet, and just avoid standing directly underneath shower head. Its due a wash now and it currently looks like this, so a bit messy but not greasy.

Every other day

brownbeauty · 24/10/2018 11:50

I wash mine every Friday yes just once a week
If I have no weekend plans I apply warned Indian hair oil (now available in Superdrug) n leave it in as long as possible normally about two days
Cover it with a woolly hat for bedtime tho
Stimulate the roots often for growth n blood circulation
My hair is jet black I'm Indian n not one gray silver white hair and I'm in my 40's
Hair is soft shiny n amazing after the oil is washed out
I do straighten my hair daily though but that's the only torture I do to it...

Every day, I swim everyday and shower afterwards to get rid of the chlorine. Do those of you who only do it once or twice a week not exercise?

RavenLG · 24/10/2018 11:54

Every day unless I'm not leaving the house. I just can't. If I wake up late or something I'll dry shampoo but my hair will turn into a knotty clump with it in so it has to be tied up. My hair is actually awful though. No idea how to fix it other than shave it off and start again.

chillandrelax · 24/10/2018 11:55

Once a week or so but I have Afro hair

FTFF · 24/10/2018 11:56

Every 2/3 days. However I have to tie it up on day 2&3. My hair is rarely down though it's unruly and just not very nice!

bumblebee39 · 24/10/2018 11:57

3-4 most weeks
2-3 if I use dry shampoo/ style it right

Embarrassed89 · 24/10/2018 11:58

Twice a week, although the day before it looks greasy so I’ll wear it up and sometimes use dry shampoo

My hair is thick and frizzy, gets sooo puffy after washing so I don’t think I could wash it everyday

Geidibe · 24/10/2018 11:58

Every other day.

Lost5stone · 24/10/2018 12:12

Everyday. I don't want to but when I exercise my sweat seems to go straight to my hair and once it's got sweaty there's no saving it

maerd · 24/10/2018 12:13

I swim daily during the summer in our pool, but chlorine levels aren’t as high as a public pool, and I avoid getting my hair wet. I am then also outdoors all day on a farm and go for long walks with dogs daily. So suitably active but not spending an hour in the gym getting sweaty and then sitting in an office for the rest of the day with an unwashed scalp...

UnaOfStormhold · 24/10/2018 12:14

I cowash weekly, and generally still have a few days grace before it starts to get greasy - it did take a while to get to this point though! I have thick, long curly hair and if I washed it more frequently it would be permanently damp or take 40mins drying.

Fosco, I do lots of low intensity exercise (walking, steady cycling) and no swimming so I don't get sweaty/chloriney hair.

Maerd, shower caps may look stupid but they are very handy!

pumpastrotter · 24/10/2018 12:14

Every day/other day, or I'll leave it for 3 if I'm not leaving the house. My hair is very fine and gets greasy within a day, but the ends are dry and prone to breakage so I can't win. No product has helped, I don't dye it, heat style it or use styling products on it. I can't use dry shampoo and baby powder doesn't help/shows too much. It's really frustrating because on the odd week it's in good condition it's got a really nice beachy wave to it, the rest I look like I've been electrocuted.

PippilottaLongstocking · 24/10/2018 12:14

2-3 times a week
