How many sausages make a meal?

I think I have a problem with my weight due to portions. So 6 pack of supermarket sausages (you know the ones with all the different flavours) with new potatoes, green beans, carrots and mini corn on the cob. How many sausages would you eat?

1 due to food issues

SinisterClownWatchingYou · 22/10/2018 19:30

2, 3 at a push

Twigwonderkid · 22/10/2018 19:30

Aah very sorry to have brought up an old debate! I had 2 and 1/2 so nicely average but feeling hungry again! Not currently on a diet as breastfeeding which is why I was having sausages, aware they're not a diet food Grin I just sometimes feel like my appetite is way too high. People say just eat less move more but if I eat less I get weak, sweaty and shakey and if I move more I get ravenous. Ah well at least my sausage consumption is in line.

3, just ate them now with mash and cauliflower cheese.

Whereisthecoffee · 22/10/2018 19:32

My toddler will eat two sausages the horror. He doesn’t like many potatoes though some bulk comes from the sausages. I’d eat two or three sausages. I’m on a diet though so two now. There is nothing wrong with sausages when on a diet as long as the rest of the meal is balanced and not hugely calorific.

Taffeta · 22/10/2018 19:32

I’d have 1.5 as I’m irritating

DD 12 would have 1

DS 15 would take 2, eat 1.5 and then want another 1.5 an hour later

DH would have 3, and eat another one cold later

Yonijust · 22/10/2018 19:32

3-4

Lucked · 22/10/2018 19:32

Normally three for evening meal

Two would be if I was having a sausage sandwich/ roll on a weekend for lunch.

MrsZB · 22/10/2018 19:39

3! Love sausages. (Vegetarian!)

IncomingCannonFire · 22/10/2018 19:39

3 of those type. 4/5 chipolatas. Size 8 here but quite active. Often skip meals but can also polish off one of those massive platters in the chain pub. Always had a high metabolism though.
2yo and 4yo will eat 2/3 chipolatas.

2 or 3. Probably 3 just because I'd be cooking for two people so may as well use up the whole pack. I'd consider 4 sausages piggy.

greendale17 · 22/10/2018 19:43

3 sausages each for adults. Always eaten

Cachailleacha · 22/10/2018 19:44

I would have 2, my 12 year old DS would have the same.

I find that the portion size stated on the packet is usually about right for us.

Narya · 22/10/2018 19:45

I love sausages - I'd have 3 whilst secretly wanting all 6. I very rarely have them though so it'd be a treat food

waxy1 · 22/10/2018 19:45

The spuds and corn will make you stout.

Atalune · 22/10/2018 19:49

waxy ha ha!

DishranawaywiththeSpoon · 22/10/2018 19:51

The thing is though if I'm hungry why is it piggy or greedy to eat 4? Whats wrong with eating enough food to fill you up? Really our portions should change day to day depending on hunger and exercise

BrutusMcDogface · 22/10/2018 19:55

Waxy! Sad

"Stout"

That's hilarious.

I don't eat fat ones anymore (Grin) but when I did, I'd have 2.5, like you. Now I like skinny ones (Grin) and eat 3 of those.

BrutusMcDogface · 22/10/2018 19:55

Oops, waxy, that wasn't meant to be a sad face! Grin

CaptainPovey · 22/10/2018 20:00

I agree - I could hoover the lot easily as I love those nice sossys

I have to stop myself Grin

MrsTumbletap · 22/10/2018 20:00

I just had 3 with cheesy mash and beans and it was lovely.

CaptainPovey · 22/10/2018 20:01

And don't get me started on chicken

I reckon I could eat a whole one

AllStevesPals · 22/10/2018 20:04

Hahah the sausage thread again.

I'd have 3 with loads of mash, carrots, sweetcorn, broccoli, gravy and maybe some Yorkshire puddings.

Randomusername01 · 22/10/2018 20:06

2 for kids, 2 or 3 for me, dp can eat 8 or 9.

userblablabla · 22/10/2018 20:06
  1. Could easily eat all 6 but obviously won’t actually allow myself to do so Grin
