£12 in the January sales at Dorothy Perkins. It was pillar box red and I loved it!

mumof3littlebeauties · 15/10/2018 01:46

£80 on half price sale

Katedotness1963 · 15/10/2018 03:07

I don’t remember exactly. £50/60 including alterations. I threw it in a skip years ago, we moved a lot and I was sick of dragging it around.

Might be interesting if people adjusted for inflation.

Mine was £150. Adjusted for inflation £280 now.

£1200 plus alterations. I borrowed my sisters veil and tiara. It was a beautiful dress but I wasn't happy with the fit in the day as it gaped slightly at the bust. You can't tell on photos though.

Stillwishihadabs · 15/10/2018 05:41

Adjusted for inflation £210

Mine was made by my bridesmaid more then 40 years ago and cost 25 pounds. Veil and skull cap were about another 25 pounds. I looked lovely.

It’s been a different story for my daughters though. They’ve needed 2 outfits. One for the first part of their ceremony where they wore modern versions of their national/Islamic dress that each had about 600 hours of embroidery and bead work on them. They also had custom made silver jewelry to match. Then they had a dress and veil for the knees up the next night when we had a bit of a do at home in the garden. I also got one of them a short crotcheted dress out of Monsoon that she changed into later in the night for dancing. I can’t recall what it all cost and I’m happy we did it.

😳😱 at some PP’s wedding dresses... £7500 for a dress?! My whole wedding didn’t even cost that!

My dress was a sample dress from Windsor Brides shop and it was really beautiful and cost £600 with a few alterations, reduced from £1000, I think. I tried so many on and got so confused about what I liked and wanted. In the end, the lady in the shop had one that I wouldn’t have even considered - it was the last dress she chose after I made a remark about what I didn’t want in a dress... I think by that point, my mum was getting pretty fed up!

The dress was so lovely and I am so pleased it was the final dress chosen by me making a chance remark - it always reminds me of how wonderful my wedding day was and how lovely (and young!) I looked. Two DC later, I am not quite as lovely looking! 😜🤣

We wore robes, they were £60 each.

CamdenTownie · 15/10/2018 06:18

Mine was from Monsoon so not the traditional big gown, it cost around £100.

theboxofdelights · 15/10/2018 06:25

Mine was a very simple silk shift dress from Max Mara’s Pianoforte range. I loved it and have worn it loads since, bought it in Venice when I was at a friend’s wedding. £1,000. Cost per wear £20.

Panicmode1 · 15/10/2018 06:25

Mine was a beautiful Sassi Holford dress which was £1400 18 years ago. I sold it shortly afterwards and bought some beautiful diamond and emerald earrings which I wear regularly. I adored the dress but couldn't bear to keep it tucked away in an attic for years.

PUGaLUGS · 15/10/2018 06:30

£150 36 years ago.

OpenThatTrapDoor · 15/10/2018 06:35

£25 on eBay (this year), may need to add a bit for alterations too.

candlefloozy · 15/10/2018 06:49

£1000

Fishcakey · 15/10/2018 06:57

£1000 16 years ago. Second time around I wore a £40 dress from Debenhams!

3boysandabump · 15/10/2018 08:44

£400

LadyR77 · 15/10/2018 08:47

£60, 6 years ago. Peacocks brought out a limited edition wedding dress that was everything I wanted - tea length, lace sleeves etc. Bought it not expecting it to be any good for that peice, but it was perfect!

fussychica · 15/10/2018 08:54

I honestly can't remember as it was 40 years ago. It was a beautiful cream day dress from Berkatex, so probably not super expensive. In fact I bought another totally contrasting outfit from Jane Norman for the evening which I think was a similar price. I still wear the topShock

foxyfemke · 15/10/2018 12:29

750 pounds, plus about 200 quid in alterations as I have a weird body shape.

MrsCar · 15/10/2018 12:31

£100. Non bridal from Phase eight

californiascreaming · 15/10/2018 12:43

Anyone else wishes there were photos to go with this wide range?
Mine was £29 in the sale from Chichi this summer...
Off to see if I have a vaguely anonymous photo of it - I loved it!!!

SurlyValentine · 15/10/2018 12:55

£750 from Loulou Bridal two years ago. A lace jacket-type thing by St Patrick for the evening to go over the dress was another £250, plus £100 for a belt, and my shoes were £200.

All now shoved in the back of my wardrobe. Must get it on ebay.....

ineedsomeinspiration · 15/10/2018 12:57

Not a "Bridal" dress, was reduce from £250 to £49. Wasn't even looking but was exactly what I wanted and a bargain so I brought it thinking if I saw something I liked better I'd ebay it.

CuppaSarah · 15/10/2018 13:06

£99 and free postage!

Beautiful designer dress being sold by a boutique on eBay as it wasn't shifting in their sale rack.
