£50 + £45 dress and petticoat

TakeAChanseyOnMe · 14/10/2018 17:13

£750 from a British brand online. About £100 in alterations. I went to 8 dress shops and hated them all! Got mine from Needle and Thread.

Nishky · 14/10/2018 17:15

Don’t remember exactly but I know I got dress, veil, tiara and two bridesmaid dresses for 1200

£75, ex display. I refused to spend £££ on something that would be worn for one day.

expatinspain · 14/10/2018 17:21

£3000 15 years ago, but I had a lot more money then!

MachineBee · 14/10/2018 17:23

£1100. Sold it afterwards for £550, so in reality it cost me £550.

The woman who bought it off me sent a picture of her in it on her wedding day and she looked amazing and as happy as I had on my special day.

EverybodyKeepCool · 14/10/2018 17:25

About £250 in the sale for the wedding dress which fitted perfectly and then about £50 for a dress from. Karen Millen sale that I wore for the evening because I loved it and it made me less bridal so no longer the centre of attention!!

TickleMyPickle · 14/10/2018 17:26

Mine was £140 from Debenhams, it should’ve been more but I had a discount code. I ordered it online and it was the only one I ever tried on. Didn’t love it but it fit and I just couldn’t be bothered at the time. Budget wasn’t really a problem, I was just being a bit of a dick. My wedding was wonderful, but I do really regret not going to shops and trying on dresses and putting a bit more effort into it all. 12 years ago now and I sometimes daydream about renewing our vows, just so that I can wear a dress that I really love.

AnneLovesGilbert · 14/10/2018 17:27

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 14/10/2018 17:27

AlmaCogansFrockFan · 14/10/2018 17:27

£43

GetOffTheTableMabel · 14/10/2018 17:28

£3500. 18 years ago.
My parents paid. My mum discussed the budget with the shop owner and I just tried on the things they brought for me. I didn’t know how much she spent until after my wedding.

wineandcatsandlego · 14/10/2018 17:29

Was £1200, reduced to £600, I ummed and ahhed and walked away despite ithe dress making my mum cry. The shop rang me the next day offering it for £500 so I took it

Redgreencoverplant · 14/10/2018 17:29

Nothing for me as my friend paid but I think it was around £150. Was a Coast dress and I loved it :)

fruityb · 14/10/2018 17:31

£350. It was in the sale and was everything I wanted. My size and very little alteration needed. Selling it on so someone else can love it too

sue51 · 14/10/2018 17:43

About 250 with alterations, way back in 1982.

mypoosmellsofroses · 14/10/2018 17:47

360, bespoke, local dressmaker 4 years ago

LoniceraJaponica · 14/10/2018 17:52

About £20 (37 years ago). My mum made it.

Obviously a bride is the centre of attention at a wedding and should look the part IMO, but I struggle to understand women who are prepared to spend several thousands of £££ on a dress for just one day.

NotTired · 14/10/2018 17:56

£550 last year from Wed2B

BlueBrush · 14/10/2018 17:57

£150. Massively reduced because it was a sample dress. I.e. the one that everyone in the shop tries on.

Starwednesday · 14/10/2018 17:59

£29.99 tk maxx, baby pink long ball gown/prom dress

SurfnTerfFantasticmissfoxy · 14/10/2018 18:01

Around £2500 I think.

missclimpson · 14/10/2018 18:02

The fabric was £5 from John Lewis and my Mum made it. It was a very short mini dress, 50 years ago next year.

Ariclock · 14/10/2018 18:03

£180

lovetherisingsun · 14/10/2018 18:03

£60 ebay, chinese dressmaker.
