Just out of interest. Mine was £100.

£200 for materials. Made by a relative.

Doubletrouble99 · 14/10/2018 20:24

I altered my mummy's one and spent £200 on lace to make a new bodice. Did by my SD one 10 years ago and it was £1800.

yellowplumpreserves · 14/10/2018 20:26

£150 in the Debenhams sale.

Probably £1500. Wouldn't change it for anything.

ChodeofChodeHall · 14/10/2018 20:34

£55

OhTheRoses · 14/10/2018 20:39

£750 28 years ago. My only regret? It no longer fits. Loved it the minute I tried it on.

ImogenTubbs · 14/10/2018 20:52

£150, 5 years ago. Could have afforded a pricey one but I much preferred to spend the wedding budget on fireworks and free booze. Don't get the whole wanting to be a princess for a day nonsense and most wedding dresses are awful.

maras2 · 14/10/2018 20:57

£20 in C&A 1975.
All the kids and grandkids have dressed up in it, even the boys.

ree348 · 14/10/2018 21:15

About £1000

largepinotplease · 14/10/2018 22:16

£600 in the sale and didn't need any alterations as the style of the dress was it tied up at the back and could be as tight or loose as required (my poor sister had the fun job of hoisting me in - think of Kate Winslet being pulled into the corset by her mum in Titanic!) I also got to wear my dress twice as we got married in Vegas then had a big party at home a few weeks after so about £300 per wear 😂 it's now sitting in my parents loft, I will take it back one day...

Pandsbear · 14/10/2018 22:19

About £250 I think. Plus about £100 alterations. 17 years ago. DH’s suit was more.

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 14/10/2018 22:29

About £20 in the 70’s. Probably quite s lot of money then. Was a very 70’s style, but not a proper wedding dress. It’s stuffed in a bag somewhere.

Stephisaur · 14/10/2018 22:38

£1900 for the dress, £300 for the veil.

My mum paid (but I would have spent that much if I’d been paying)

Cyw2018 · 14/10/2018 22:41

£150 from China £50 for alterations at local sewing/repair shop.

TeddyBee · 14/10/2018 22:44

About £100 on fabric and made it. I still love the skirt, but I look at the bodice and cringe now. My boobs. Why my boobs so out? What was I thinking??

tigercub50 · 14/10/2018 22:45

Mine was around £400 in the sale. I would never have chosen it but the assistant persuaded me to try it on & it was perfect

moralminority · 14/10/2018 23:25

£800, 20 odd years ago. I had it made and I loved it.

AdoreTheBeach · 14/10/2018 23:28

I had no money. Neither set of parents wanted us to get married so no offers of help to buy one. I was married in a borrowed wedding dress.

thighofrelief · 14/10/2018 23:35

£500 in 1990, beautiful dress. Husband not so good.

babyinthacorner · 14/10/2018 23:37

I think it was about £1800. About £600 of that was spent on alterations as I’m rather small. I bought 6 inch heels to try to compensate, but I still needed a load of material taken off the bottom. It was the first dress I tried on and made my sister cry (she NEVER cries) so I knew then it was the one. No regrets, even though I planned to sell it but can’t because it’s too small for everyone who’s tried it.

emmeyebea · 15/10/2018 00:04

About £700 20 years ago, and a bespoke design.

DramaAlpaca · 15/10/2018 00:11

£450 in 1990. I really liked one that cost twice as much but couldn't justify spending that, so I compromised. No regrets. It's still in the attic in a suitcase, but no way could I get into it now!

RedneckStumpy · 15/10/2018 00:14

£150, Tailor made to my design in China (eBay)

It was a copy of a £4000 dress I loved and couldn’t afford

Coolaschmoola · 15/10/2018 00:17

£900 reduced from £1200 14 years ago.

Alterations were another £100, veil was £150 faints.

My beloved Mum paid for the whole lot.

tobee · 15/10/2018 01:25

£25 on sale at Debenhams. 6 years ago. Bottle green velvet tunic for registry office wedding.
