New ninja thread!!

Becca19962014 · 01/10/2018 22:09

The other one expired and it doesn't look like anyone else has created one! So I get another barn and leslie didn't steal my victory like last time!!!

I guess technically, technically MN won the last one. However, this is MY barn.

Rules:

Feed the ninja owl(s) in the rafters, cake only. Especially me. I get hungry and cannot eat anything other than cake and no yukky healthy stuff in cake.

No discussion at all about yukky healthy food.

Um..

Did I mention I like cake???

We talk about anything and everything, except obviously healthy food.

It's not advisable to try and win the thread and mention another is about to expire because some people use it to cheat.....

Oh bum. I cross-posted with Fuzzy. I might have to confiscate her custard.

FuzzyCustard · 05/10/2018 13:39

You leave my custard alone leslie.

Hey fuzzy, what have you been up to?

Thank you leslie , they look normal enough. I wonder what they thought of me, let's be honest I'm wearing dungarees Grin How are you doing? I made a really nice veggie dansak last Friday and I was thinking about trying it again but I have a feeling I won't be able to repeat the deliciousness!

Becca19962014 · 05/10/2018 14:30

They'll be no confiscating of food from ninja owls or honary ninja owls

Still feeling ill, heading to bed for a rest.

Good luck NK.
Absent minded professor?

SylvesterTheCat · 05/10/2018 15:14

Custard and Leslie I disagree. Hence, why I feel like one. I've got all the layers.

FuzzyCustard · 05/10/2018 17:53

You have a layer of gherkin Sylvester? Impressed!

FuzzyCustard · 05/10/2018 17:53

NK not up to anything out of the ordinary. The usual mixture of medical appointments and surfing!

Becca19962014 · 05/10/2018 18:50

fuzzy there's something nice for you hidden in the rafters!! Wink

My tonsil is still swollen (though less than before) with white spots and lines, the redness/spots in my mouth have gone but I constantly feel like I'm going to choke. My antibiotics finish on Sunday. Am worried it's not going to go and get even worse. Any ideas? I'm still feeling ill and have been doing the salt water gargling and other stuff.

Advice (and cake obviously) welcome. I tried nhsdirect but after over an hour I'm giving up. Might try again first thing maybe.

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 05/10/2018 21:03

Hm not really sure what to suggest Becca Sad I hope it goes down soon. Presumably you're taking paracetamol and anything else you're able to take with your other medications. NHSDirect might still phone back. Probably in the middle of the night Hmm

Fuzzy here's to more surfing and fewer medical appointments Flowers

Ugh to gherkins.

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 05/10/2018 21:04

Forgot the Cake

I've been baking today for family lunch tomorrow. Maltesers were involved. Luckily I have everything locked up safely in an owl-proof box.

Becca19962014 · 05/10/2018 21:14

I couldn't even get through to leave a number leslie ! I'm thinking I might wait until Sunday morning first thing. They're unlikely to be busy then plus I can say I've finished the antibiotics Possibly if I try now they'll just say to wait.

Owl proof box?!?!?! Sad

I did give you some Cake Becca. I can't have you nibbling the others before I've served them to our guests but I will save you the leftovers :)

That's a good plan then.

Becca19962014 · 05/10/2018 21:52

That's true.

I had a call today about the MRI I'm supposed to be waiting months for to apologise for having lost the referral. They've classed it as an emergency and want me in ASAP. I can't go alone, I'm terrified of hospitals, even had a panic attack during the phone call I was in that much of a state.

I was told months, I'd been convincing myself it would be months, nothing to worry about, routine. Which was what my GP said.

To be fair to the GP they know how terrified I am of anything at all medical and though another had told me what the MRI was for they delibrately didn't. There are two possible reasons for what's happening. Neither are good.

Panicking a lot. And struggling to find my good thing for today...

OP posts:
MipMipMip · 06/10/2018 00:38

One good thing is that you're having the MRI which may help. I know it doesn't feel like it at the moment but it IS a good thing. The emergency appointment is probably nothing more than if you go on a normal waiting time from them finding the referral, rather than when it's sent (which starts the timer) they would go over their targets. So if they hadn't lost it the appointment would be at the same time, but they would have made it and informed you months ago.

Cake
WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 06/10/2018 07:48

Yes, what Mip said. They're probably squeezing you in quickly to make up for losing the referral. When I have my scans I tell myself that whatever it shows up is there already, and would be even if I didn't know about it. At least if we know what's going on there might be something that can be done to help. I know that probably doesn't help much when you're so scared though Flowers are you able to take diazepam or anything like that? GPs are usually willing to prescribe it for MRI scans, but obviously depends on potential interactions.

Would Cake and hot chocolate Brew for breakfast count as a good thing? Extra whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles now that we have restocked the hot chocolate table (please don't eat the table again!) and I'll even put in some marshmallows, though I think they're icky in hot chocolate.

I'll be making a batch of Nutella ice cream later too. The machine is quite noisy so I will wait until everyone is awake!

mogloveseggs · 06/10/2018 08:25

Sylvester did you have a hamburger?
Fatty at least he’s diagnosed and they’re on it now?
becca Cake I know disrupting your coping process wasn’t very good, but at least it will be over with?
nk no common sense? Grin hope the neighbours are lovely
leslie you’re up early? Can I please have some ice cream when its ready?
mip how are you? And miphound?
fuzzy are you enjoying strictly?
No wombat yet?

Becca19962014 · 06/10/2018 09:44

The appointment was sent three weeks ago. It's nowhere near the non emergency waiting time - I was told after Christmas. I can't have any meds no and at the moment I'm having out of control seizures and panic attacks even if someone is with me.
