Happy new year to one and all!

I had a total break from blogging, MN, email and twitter for the 12 days I was away...it started unintentionally but was so refreshing that I kept it up. But I've enjoyed catching up with the lastest blog posts and reacquainting myself with MN and t'internet . Here's my first post of 2012

Petite hope the return to work is OK! I found it less painful than I expected (as I'd forgotten how much I liked my job while I was on maternity leave ). And I really hope you keep blogging, though I realise that sometimes somethings have to give when you're juggling work and parenthood!

MmeLindor happy belated birthday! Hope it was a good one .

YourChildsLanguage love the blog! My 21 month old son is in the process of learning to talk and it's fascinating, and very fun. And I'm pregnant with no 2 so your blog's a good reminder that I should get talking to this little one too!

I wasn't online much over the holidays - didn't even post a pic of my kids' Christmas presents on Facebook, will probably get drummed off for that.

Have been working on a new blog project, which is a jointly written blog with my 12 year old daughter so will post up a link when that's got a few more posts on it. In the meantime, here's my first post of 2012, which is all about 2011, plus it's an excuse to roll out the picture of me with Jedward.

I have ranted vaguely about people who resist medical advances and no, that's nothing to do with anything to do with childbirth, just inspired by a few comments I had from people in RL.

Here is FB's post on Frothers on government cuts to maternity services and how they will affect breastfeeding counselling.
