Anyone?

I will start off with a link to my latest post, a part of the story of Beth (formerly known as Dora) who moved to Geneva to escape a relationship turned sour.

This is NOT me, by the way. I have drawn on my knowledge of Geneva but it is not an autobiograpy :)

OMG, Tee! Please tell me people don't think I was being serious in that last post I made on here?! I did say it was a lie at the bottom! Shock

Tee2072 · 24/08/2011 06:56

Oops FB I could have sworn I put a Grin after my hashtag! Of course I didn't think you were serious!!!!

FlamingoBingo · 24/08/2011 09:40

Babies need to cry to exercise their lungs...really?

DirtyMartini · 24/08/2011 10:53

Hey all. Scat - good to see you back :) and Mme, I love your daughter's story. Well done on battling through the thicket of problems to get the new blog set up.

Still have not caught up with some of the newer blogs on this thread, but will do soon. And I have a new post as of yesterday but can't give you a link, as I'm on my phone. Just wanted to check in here to catch up with the chat :)

I joined StumbleUpon yesterday; not sure if I like it, too soon to know. Will start separate thread to discuss later, in hopes there are other MN bloggers using it. Part of the problem I'm having is not knowing anyone on there. They say it can be beneficial to bloggers but I'm not sure it's going to prove worthwhile w/out a big investment of time.

DM
Not sure about Stumbldthingamy - I looked at it but thought with Twitter, MN and blog that I really cannot devote more time to something else.

I have set up Networked Blogs that automatically updates my FB and I can read other blogs through it.

Bramble & Apple Crumble

Been picking blackberries - sooo good!!

ScatCatShoo · 25/08/2011 21:11

MmeLindor, loving your new title. You should check out my praline and salted caramel ice cream recipe ;)

I wanted to share this post with you all. Its an older post, but sums up why I blog. It was written after an argument with someone who thought that all bloggers should be professional, and food bloggers, in her own words 'were hated by everyone in the industry'. I disagreed, and was kicked off the forum as a result (she also closed down the entire forum because I was not the only one who said that bloggers need to be a community that welcome new people, regardless of their professional level) Anyway, this was the post I wrote after thinking about it for a while. It also includes a recipe for my 'no butter' paneer :)

Hello all

MmeLindor, I'm going to have to get over my aversion to Twitter and Facebook if I want to widen my readership aren't I? This blogging malarky is time consuming!

Anyway, a few posts from me here, some making and blathering.

Tee2072 · 25/08/2011 21:23

here's my latest!

Dilly I just read yours. I don't drink tea, but I might start now. Grin

DillyTante · 25/08/2011 21:29

That's because you're one of them funny Americans isn't it?Grin I read your complaining about your British washer dryer too, another thing the Americans I know do!

Tee2072 · 25/08/2011 21:37

I wasn't complaining so much as expressing frustration. Grin I do think it's very silly and wish I had a washer and a dryer!

I do drink tea, but only when I haven't been well. I'm a coffee girl!

ScatCatShoo · 25/08/2011 21:38

Tee and Dilly, I just commented on your blogs... Dilly, I LOVE Mr Mittens... you are so creative!

Tee2072 · 25/08/2011 21:41

Scat, thanks for the comment. I don't have a car but live in City Centre and so walk everywhere. We are looking further out now and so have to get used to the busses!

DillyTante · 25/08/2011 21:57

Thanks scatcatshoo Blush. I love your blog too, the recipes are mouthwatering.

Tee, my American friend extols the virtues of massive top loading machines. I guess they are great when you live in a massive country and all have laundry rooms! Sadly it's under the counter jobbies here, and a drier if you are lucky enough to have a shed or a garage to house one! I remember being Shock at an American couple in an adjacent holiday cottage to ours on our honeymoon in Italy using the tiny tumble drier in the pool house instead of drying their clothes outside - in Italy in June!!!

Tee2072 · 26/08/2011 08:17

Except not everyone has laundry rooms, Dilly. I have lived in many apartments where there have been what are called stacking washer/dryers. So one sits on top of the other. The washer is no bigger than the undercounter ones here and the dryer is not very big, but works much faster than the dryer that's intergrated than the one that's part of my washer.

Also, it's true, most American's don't hang wash out. In fact, a lot of Housing Associations have rules against it!

MmeLindor. · 26/08/2011 11:52

Great posts.

Our American neighbours just sold their washer/dryers - I had said that I would take them but we may be moving sometime in the next year so thought better not to. Am still mourning the loss of these fantastic machines.

ScatCat
am off to search for the ice cream recipe. Sounds fab.

I made salted caramels yesterday, off to check how they turned out.

I'm on a bit of a Princess Diana roll at the moment so today I blogged about meeting her.

FlamingoBingo · 26/08/2011 16:41

More on the tantrum check list: they ill? freeyourparenting.com/2011/08/26/tantrum-check-list-4-illness/ or they overstimulated? freeyourparenting.com/2011/08/26/tantrum-check-list-3-overstimulation/

MmeGuillotine - That is very cool indeed! :)

MmeGuillotine · 26/08/2011 18:29

Thank you, Flamingo! :)

How weird. I commented here earlier about how much I liked ScatCat's post but it seems to have vanished! It can't have been deleted, because there isn't an ominous 'This load of blithering nonsense has been removed by Mumsnet HQ' type message so I wonder where it went?

Ah well, let's try that one again. ScatCat - I liked your post but curses for making this vegan miss paneer! :)

Angel786 · 26/08/2011 19:20

My blogging cherry has popped!

My first post Blush so the story begins www.Chroniclesofmamak.blogspot.com/

Enjoy.
