Anyone?

I will start off with a link to my latest post, a part of the story of Beth (formerly known as Dora) who moved to Geneva to escape a relationship turned sour.

This is NOT me, by the way. I have drawn on my knowledge of Geneva but it is not an autobiograpy :)

I'm really disappointed that lots of you reported my blog as something that reviews products for a profit. If the people in question had read the blog properly, or spent any time at all on there, which I know from my analytics that they did not, they would have seen that this is just not the case. My blog is about being a WAHM, a mum-to-be, family life and running my two businesses (artwork and Phoenix), and how that all fits together with tips for other WAHMs.

I'm going to be withdrawing my application to join the Mumsnet Blogger Network, partly because of this and partly because all the things my friends and colleagues warned me about this site have transpired to be true! It's not something I want my blog associated with at all, and I feel it is actually detrimental to have the Mumsnet logo appear on my sidebar - the site is getting a very bad reputation, which I should have heeded...

Sylvie, I visited your blog, read a post, mildly enjoyed it - wasn't even aware of the issue re selling, so didn't report you.

I don't particularly think that your sour-grapes comments re MN reflect well on you, though, so won't be visiting again. Bit pathetic really.

Are you sure the reports came from MN readers and not upon MNHQ actually reading the blog?

My hit count has about tripled since I joined the network so I am very happy to have the MN logo on my blog. And I agree with DM. If you're not happy, best you leave.

I reported your blog almost every post contained a link to a product you were selling. It is a pretty blog, and nicely written but let's be honest, it is a window front for your sales website. I asked MNHQ to have a look and obviously they agreed with me.

I know it is tricky to get the balance right when you are blogging to sell something but I'm afraid I found your blog too much of a sales object. Perhaps if you had reviewed other items that you did not sell yourself, it would not have read like that.

OH YEAH mme. SING IT SISTAH!

Surely MN bloggers should be just...blogging about thing and not be selling their blogs out?

You write posts about other stuff though, so I do think it is different.

I think that MNHQ are going to find it a difficult business - to ascertain which blogs are simply sales tools, where the blogger joined MN to up hits to their blog and thus improve sales and those who blog and sell some things on their blog.

I think there is a difference.

I'll have to accept that I may be an exception total weirdo and could get kicked off at any time Blogging is recommended as a way to market a small business, so it will be a fine line to walk for MNHQ! There's loads of MNers who make a bit of extra cash on the side making and selling from home, and I bet loads of them have blogs.

Will you be changing to "la vie avec les rosbifs" anytime soon?

That's why I have two blogs. One is for my company. One for me! [hgrin]

I worked really hard on that SHOCK AND AWE thing and all.

this is mine at the minute, the past few posts have just been glog hops which are a good way to link uo to other blogs and promote eyour own a bit. I have some nice furniture revamps that i will be posting this week so will keep you posted. any feedback on mine would be greatly accepted. My writing is poor I know, I suppose my blogs more projects than writing.

Shirley perhaps because you mention a US TV show? If people are googling for Man Vs Food you might get more hits that way.

I've seen that show once.
