... how long could you survive with what you have in your house right now?

Do you have any tins/bottled water etc put away in case of a emergency?

Have been frealing myself out reading some wacky conspiray sites (all baging on about something huge happeneing in the next 2 weeks) - Im not be;lieveing it, but it has made me think that one day there could be an event and I probably would only last a week with my store cupboard!

It will be the Fed's last birthday if Ron Paul gets his way.

BoffinMum · 04/11/2010 17:58

BeenBeta, if our Parish Councillors actually ran things the world would probably end anyway IMO.

If the Mayans were so clever they wouldn't have died out.

Was it them that scored a massive own goal by dumping their dead in their drinking water? (could have been Incans)

Would trust them to tell me when the next bus is coming, never mind the end of the world

Alouiseg · 04/11/2010 18:01

It was something to do with the Fed and bonds and 5/6 year not 30 year.....they were the words that permeated. He works from home now and I hear it all day. Hence the tuning out Blush

MrsChemist · 04/11/2010 18:03

Besides, Marty McFly has already been to the future in 2015 and it's all hover boards and future pepsi Grin

Alouiseg · 04/11/2010 18:09

And Busted have been to the year 3000!

shimmerysilversparkler · 04/11/2010 18:10

Ok, I understand that SOMETHING is happening on 14th, but what exactly? A bit jittery now as I will be on a flight to the Middle East at some point that weekend and not actually sure now that I want to be Confused.

MaDuggar · 04/11/2010 18:12

Dont think anyone knows anything tbh, its more than likely a load of nothing!

Hmm- handbags and shoes- I hear you! (those biochem hazard suits really do just cry out for accessories, I find. Grin)

MrsChemist · 04/11/2010 18:12

Indeed, and - aside from living underwater and the future generations having alarming longevity - apparently not much has changed in the year 3000

ChickensHaveNoLips · 04/11/2010 18:14

I heard that my great, great, great granddaughter is pretty fine.

MrsMeow · 04/11/2010 18:23

It's my birthday on the 14th Nov. I really hope the end of the world is delayed slightly because, well, I don't want to miss out on my pressies. My mum is getting me vouchers and everything :(

Tee2072 · 04/11/2010 18:25

Who went to the year 3000? Hmm

Tolalola · 04/11/2010 18:26

Ooh we could last ages. We have a cistern for water and a generator for electricity and we live right on the coast so plenty of foragable food/fish.

Bring it on, I say! Grin

SarahStrattonsSparkler · 04/11/2010 18:34

Unless it includes a sea level rise

MaDuggar · 04/11/2010 18:35

Yeah, a tsunami and your for it.

OP posts:
SarahStrattonsSparkler · 04/11/2010 18:37

I live on a big hill

BoffinMum · 04/11/2010 18:44

Don't they all have three breasts in the Year 3000?

All that extended bf ...

Alouiseg · 04/11/2010 18:44

Lots of airline emergencies at the moment. Wonder if the powers that be are being ultra cautious for a reason?

wineonafridaynight · 04/11/2010 18:50

On to page 2 of this thread so far...my thoughts so far:

1/ I have guests that weekend! Better really stock up. Or it may be once they left in which case should I ration what they eat?! Grin

2/ Why would a major event happen on a sunday. Seems odd! But then maybe thread is written in America in which case maybe the major event will happen in the UK as it will by that point be Monday here....

3/ S**t - we can never find a torch when we need one. Must find torch

3/ Well if something major happens I guess it puts my lack of employment into perspective! :)

All of this said in jest of course! Grin

SarahStrattonsSparkler · 04/11/2010 18:53

I don't think my pig and cow torches are really up to scratch. I need torch recommendations please.

Apparently we are cruel and heartless and are scaring people Grin

So to sum up on this November stuff :

Predictions :
. The Web Bot project "Tipping Point" is on November 2010
. Timewave Zero predict something big on November 2010
. Baba Vanga predicted World War 3 to begin November 2010
. CERN will fired up the Large Hadron Collider on 9 November. Some people are worried about causing destruction if it fails
. Few predict an Yellowstone erupting date near November 2010
. Few Financial experts say the Stockmarket could crash again in November

Facts - Real : (but can be not connected to the above)
. Obama and the heart of the White House (3 000 officials) will move to India on Saturday, with a fleet of 34 warships (Estimated cost is approx. $200 million per day)
. France and UK sign this Tuesday an historic military and nuclear treaty
. Terrorism : Al-Qaeda's Palestinian cell being hit, MFO camps in Sinai remain on high terror alert, strange package bombs from Yemen, etc.

Facts - No proof
. Rumors from some in US of friends telling them to be prepared (CIA, Military, etc.)
. Few forumers see a possible alarm with the Volcanos in Iceland and Indonesia.

Nicked that from the site. Its everything in a nutshell.
