Over here ladies!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 31/10/2010 17:22

Thousands might believe you, Flowers. Mwa ha ha. Lull him into a false sense of security, is it?

Back tracking, thank you for the Guyliner photo. He is da man (or maybe its Maybelline) I don't want to share his sultry charms with strangers, so I shall deny that thread the pleasure of his company.

Re Stephen Fry To me what he said (or did not say)was less interesting than the comments. All those blokes that seem to think women are alien creatures with incomprehensible thinking pattens. Very depressing

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 31/10/2010 17:52

Ah, but Men Are From Mars and Women Are From Venus, innit?

And I believe in the simple pleasures. Such as a game of canasta with a Sharp Featured Dressed Man.

Fettle · 31/10/2010 17:54

Hmmm tres tasty guyliner photo!!

No vampires but there was a pirate with long leather boots - if only he'd had leather trousers to match.....sigh......!!!!

Although I still am a mr thornton loosened cravat swooner!!!!!

OP posts:
Fettle · 31/10/2010 18:05

What is canasta? Pray enlighten and educate mr further ladies!!

Also some Latin lessons would be useful for this thread too while we're on it!!!Grin

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 31/10/2010 18:06

A small gift for Fettle

No selfish interests here at all. Oh no.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 31/10/2010 18:10

Canasta is Flowers' euphemism for strip poker.
What do you want to say in Latin, Fettle?
I could give you a list of the prepositons that take the ablative case

Fettle · 31/10/2010 18:13

Almost makes my heart stop
Smelling salts please!!!! Swooooooooonnnnnn!

What is it about that look and his smile? It makes me go all goey!!!!

OP posts:
Fettle · 31/10/2010 18:18

Oooh BlushBlush! Flowers! Strip poker!!! I feel far too innocent and naive now!Blush

I just want to know what's been said in Latin previously on this these threads Tis all!!! Had to drop Latin at school at 14 to timetable in german and geography - fat lot of use they are to me now!!Grin

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 31/10/2010 18:22

I suspect I Fettle may be more interested in some of the more, ahem, active verbs, theresaholeinyourmind. And injunctions such as noli me tangere.

I've told you. I have cellulite issues. Strip poker is out of the question. Besides which, as soon as his cravat came off I would be supine on the floor, awaiting his tender ministrations.

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 31/10/2010 18:28

Oops. Cross posts.

Fettle - Did you join the previous thread in time to see this ? It's all a bit racy for me - and sadly lacking in cravats - but I think it's the best of the YT vids. Apart, obviously, from the North and South swooneramas.

How long until MrFettle returns to the heaving bosom of his family?

Theresaholeinyourmind · 31/10/2010 18:35

Okaaay
lesson one --important bit of Catullus
Da mi basia mille, deinde centum, dein mille altera, dein secunda centum, deinde usque altera mille, deinde centum

Give me a thousand kisses, then a hundred, then another thousand, then a second hundred, then yet another thousand more, then another hundred?.

Fettle · 31/10/2010 18:37

Tis obviously too racy even for my YouTube as I can't play it for some reason!!Grin

Mr Fettle is due home this weekend (just for the weekend but still long enoughWinkBlush

OP posts:
Fettle · 31/10/2010 18:40

I shall practice that for his homecoming theresas! Shame he doesn't have leather trousers...!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 31/10/2010 18:49

I am rather fond of the molon labe tattoo, which colloquially translated from the Greek, means ''come and get it''.
What was the other Latin?
I am living up to my nickname tonight

Theresaholeinyourmind · 31/10/2010 18:53

Maybe you can get him some Guyliner, Fettle. And teach him to say ''Beg'' and ''Fetch''

MissBeehiving · 31/10/2010 18:54

Res ipsa loquitar?

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 31/10/2010 18:57

There was the Greek gnothe seauton and the Latin dum spiro spero. Written on the body, indeed.

But Fettle should take extreme care. Remember the Italian scene in A Fish Called Wanda?

Fettle · 31/10/2010 19:08

See missbeehavin that's what I mean - I feel so left out I'm not au fait with the language of love!!

[hhmm]. Can't see mr fettle with guyliner on! Far too manly for that!! I could probably get him in an open-necked floppy White shirt...'

Hair is too light to fully pull off the RA look though but with the lights low and some imagination I'm sure i can cope!!!!Grin

OP posts:
Theresaholeinyourmind · 31/10/2010 19:15

Nil carborundum ..has that been done?

Theresaholeinyourmind · 31/10/2010 19:19

At night all cats are grey, Fettle. or black...

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 31/10/2010 19:36

Fettle - Never mind his hair. You need to encourage his Inner Mr Thornton. Can he do the Smouldering Look? or The Voice?

Or there is a . [Warning: c'est tres tres ooh-la-la].

MissBeehiving · 31/10/2010 19:52

Don't worry Fettle. I'm a lawyer so have to adapt my meagre latinage to the circumstances. My best offering is Carpe Richard.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 31/10/2010 19:58

I just came across some Courtly Love poems too, in the Langue d'oc, in the course of my research for --well, I'm not teling you Wink

Cor us tenrai en mon poder
E que lagues ab vos un ser
E Qu.us des un bais amoros?
Sapchats gran talan n'auria
Qu'us tengues...

When will I have you in my power?
Lie with you one night
And give you a loving kiss
Be sure I'd have a great desire
To hold you...

    Beatrice, Countess of Die

(I missed some out, it was too naughty)

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 31/10/2010 20:10

Ooh la la!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 31/10/2010 20:15

Exactement. There were some mighty forward ladies in those days.
