Over here ladies!

OP posts:
ASmallBunchofFlowers · 07/11/2010 00:27

Yes, but the full dvd isn't much help while dh is watching Match of the Day and I want a silent swoon.

Bodenbabe · 07/11/2010 10:47

Flowers, no, don't get much solo TV time, just once a week, when DH is out. Having seen a few clips of Guy I may encourage him to go out more though :)

So it is going to happen tomorrow, isn't it? I'm just going to assume it will and then anything else will be a pleasant surprise. Can't believe have only just discovered Mr North and there's just a few days of him left. DH and I are watching Spooks from the beginning but we're only about 5 eps into series 1 and there's an awfully long way to go until series 7 :(

Bodenbabe · 07/11/2010 10:54

Have we seen this, by the way? Makes me giggle but then I am very tired.

miaow

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 07/11/2010 11:05

Oh that is very funny, Boden (though I'm also tired, as a result of staying up far too late posting twaddle on here). Will add it to the syllabus for the MA in Advanced Tattoo-ology.

Bodenbabe · 07/11/2010 11:56

Here's another but this one just creeps me out

MrsLucasNorth · 07/11/2010 12:47

I have read that tomorrow's finale is a huge shocker - am wondering if Harry and Malcolm are in deeper and drier than it seems and Harry will cop it.

Think it most likely that Maya will cop it and Lucas will be killed either trying to save her or by carelessness as he feels if he's lost her it's not worth living.

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 07/11/2010 13:00

I found the last two episodes almost unbearable and I'm dreading tomorrow's but (contrarily) daren't miss it. I'm assuming at least some of the loose ends in the plot will be tied up and there'll be a high body count - unless they all emerge from their respective showers (or the same shower, in Harry and Ruth's case) to find it's all been a bad dream. I may be here at 10.03pm with a vat of Theresa's legendarily potent Polish Cordial.

I've grown increasingly fond of Harry this series. He has had some fantastic one-liners. And then .

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 07/11/2010 13:07
, but some scenes are not for the squeamish.
Theresaholeinyourmind · 07/11/2010 13:32

Maybe there's an advantage in not having been able to watch Spooks beyond season 2after all. Or maybe it's more than that as BBC Entertainment are now promising us season 5.
So the whole Lucas arc is still to come for me and the apocalypse won't happen for a while- or until I can get to watch all my DVDs. This last season won't be out in that format till Feb next year, so I have still got time.

Boden, I was thinking you must get bored with my constant banging on about Bad Boy Guy.Mr Thornton is lovely too but I leave him mainly to Flowers, from whom he receives quite a bit of attention. But maybe Lucas has been sadly neglected. Why don't you give him his proper due and tell us all about him? I do know I rather heart what I've seen of him.

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 07/11/2010 15:45

Oh dear. Is my constant rhapsodising about Mr Thornton becoming (surely not) tedious? Blush But I would be very happy for others to join in, to confirm the excellence of my taste and generally share the delight that is an 190 year old northern industrialist of saturnine looks. As long as you don't touch his cravat.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 07/11/2010 16:15

I am sure Boden enjoys your Mr Thornton bits as much as I do, Flowers. You can't have too much of a Good Thing. He is delicious. But you don't go on about him in the sappy fan girl way that I rabbit on about Guy.

So. Me boring, You measured, respectful and interesting. (And it wasn't his cravat I was molesting,it was Guy Thornton-North's)

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 07/11/2010 16:34

Perhaps we should find correspondents you can tell us all there is to know about BTS, Sparkhouse and that thing where he wears an orange jumpsuit? I am willing to research The Impressionists myself, as it Fine Art and we might have a private tete a tete at the Musee Marmottan.

Theresa - I appreciate that it was GT-N's cravat with which you were interfering and you had no choice because MrsLN made you do it. I am sure I have done quite as many and as you. And I'm not sure that your my plans involving Tennyson, Polish Cordial, my hands on his manly shoulders and the hotness of his breath on my neck are entirely respectful. Or even respectable. Blush

I would like to hear Boden's assessment of Lucas' charms.

MrsLucasNorth · 07/11/2010 16:36

Oh come on, I know I've neglected him this weekend but I don't think Mr North lacks attention from this direction!

Had champagne afternoon tea in a very Thornton-esque hotel yesterday which was fab.

Have been listening to Clarissa on the way home - why did no-one tell me about the singing and 'fire' scene...?

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 07/11/2010 16:41

Singing? Did I miss it or do I have it still to come? I'm stuck three quarters of the way through episode 3 and (still having failed to transfer them to my Ipod) will have to wait until the Offspring has gone to bed. My difficulty is that I fear the outcome (and I know what's coming as I read the book yonks ago) will be rather than .

MrsLucasNorth · 07/11/2010 16:50

Singing very briefly in episode 2 - isn't the bit where he goes to tell her about 'fire' and gets all amorous fab though? Had a bit of a hot flush on the train - he's definitely sexier when he's being bad Grin!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 07/11/2010 16:58

Mrs LN, I hope you had a good trip. Not as good as the one I planned for you as a thank you for my lovely bit of charladying, maybe. Or maybe you would have preferred your own itinerary anyway.

I shall post it as soon as I can get it right. Just wrestling a bit with characterisation you understand.

Of course you give Mr North his due. But as I said earlier, you can't have too much of a Good Thing

MrsLucasNorth · 07/11/2010 17:03

Ta muchly, Theresa! Will look forward to that. Nearly home now - so will see you later with another chapter or 2 of GTN...

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 07/11/2010 17:30

Right. Am off to rewind iPod to listen again to episode 2. I'd been wondering for some time whether singing might be yet another of Mr Armitage's accomplishments.

Am also wondering when Fettle is going to evict MrFettle return to the superlative thread she created!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 07/11/2010 20:04

Clarissa mission accomplished. Hooray!

Thank you Flowers, you deserve double dips of hot breath for your patience.

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 07/11/2010 20:12

Just finished episode 2 (for the second time this week Blush). It is delicious but Lovelace isn't just naughty, he is Wicked.

Theresa - Patience? Eh? Perhaps Santa could bring you an iPod for Christmas - so much more portable.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 07/11/2010 20:28

I managed to locate that unabridged version of Lords of the North too. It seems to be out of production/stock. One copy available which might be dodgy. But the reviews are glowing and they are both by Americans who don't know RA

Santa usually brings me slippers. or bathsalts....

Theresaholeinyourmind · 07/11/2010 20:30

To clarify about the patience... you didn't tell me off for asking for an easy way to the Clarissa links

Fettle · 07/11/2010 20:44

Evening ladies!! Miss me?Grin

Will try and catch up tomorrow properly - what did I miss while I've been busy with my real life. Hope some yummy YouTube clips to peruse? I did miss you all and the lovely mr armitage though!!Grin. But got nearly 4 weeks of DH-lessness ahead of me now so plenty of time to continue my studies and research into our subject!!

Can't believe it might be the end for Lucas tomorrow!Sad. But he will live on with us through this thread! Can't believe how close to 1000 posts we have got in a week!!

OP posts:
Theresaholeinyourmind · 07/11/2010 20:48

And free samples of the Georgette Heyer audiobooks here.

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 07/11/2010 20:50

Listen. Anyone who listens to my tedious repeated and frequent eulogising of Mr Thornton without resorting to violence or rolling of eyes has earned the (very small and not at all onerous) favour of finding cornishpasty's link to the Clarissa downloads.

Perhaps Santa might be willing to forget the slippers. My chum bought her children a very cheap MP3 player in Argos [insert name of local equivalent here].

We haven't had any vids today. This one isn't new but the music is .
